“She fainted due to low blood pressure and fatigue. Her blood sugar is also low. She needs proper hydration and care for at least forty-eight hours.” Declan gave his doctor a curt nod before dismissing him. His eyes shifted toward Kiara’s unconscious figure. Glucose was being administered through an IV drip. He immediately looked away, and sighed. Somehow, He felt responsible for her condition. He called Victor into his room and demanded, “Why hasn’t she eaten since yesterday? Food is given to everyone on time here. Then why?” Victor remained silent for a moment, unsure how to explain the situation without directly blaming his Boss. “Sir… the girl never got the time to eat. She came here and was immediately given work by you. By the time she was free, the kitchen was closed.” Declan’s jaw tightened. “And today?” He demanded. “Why didn’t she have breakfast?” Victor cleared his throat. “I spoke to the chef. She said Ms. Barbieri came there and took Ms. Seth with her. Again, brea

“I have to plan my escape very, very cleverly. This man is elusive and dangerous. Not only him, but this entire clan of people.” Kiara muttered as she walked back into the house. The moment Valentina went to meet a guest, she headed straight to the kitchen. But the moment she reached it, her eyes welled with tears at the sight of the closed kitchen. An angry sob escaped her throat. Oh, dammit! Once again, the damn kitchen was closed. Everything here worked like a hotel. She couldn’t order anything because of their damn protocol. “Ms. Seth. Mr. Sullivan is asking for you in his office, right now!” She was staring at the closed kitchen door when Victor’s words struck her like a slap. Angrily, she spun around and marched straight toward Declan Sullivan’s office. Kiara didn’t bother knocking. No, she strode directly inside and snapped, “You asked for me, Mr. Sullivan.” Declan’s eyes hardened at her tone. He snapped his gaze toward her. “Your tone, Miss Seth!” He warned coldly. “Wa

The man sitting across from him was no less than an enemy to Declan Sullivan. Business partners were one thing, but the animosity towards the Italian Don was another. Declan’s hands were tied by a promise, or He would have ended this man’s life a long time ago! “I need answers, Declan.” Klaus Barbieri spoke as he looked at Declan Sullivan before shifting his gaze to Liam Sullivan. Declan fixed his icy stare on Klaus. “Since when did I become obliged to answer you over anything, Klaus?” He leaned back in his chair casually. “And since when did you get the right to question me?” Klaus Barbieri’s jaw clenched. “Since that interview got published and my wife’s name got attached to you! Since I engaged my sister to your brother! I want answers because you failed to provide what you promised!” “I didn’t fail in anything. And the interview is a matter of the past now, Klaus. It’s gone. You don’t have to worry about it anymore.” “Oh, I have to worry because my wife was involved in that

It was midnight when Kiara finally came to her room.Hungry. Tired. And sleepy as hell. Her stomach ached for food, but her body craved rest so desperately that she didn’t have the energy to go to the kitchen anymore.“Curse you, ugly Governor.” With frustrated tears, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, cursing her tormentor viciously and praying that the remaining three hundred and sixty-four days would pass with as little torment as possible. She also prayed that karma would pay him back and that one day, He too would sleep hungry just like her. Oh, how she would love to be in his place.Just once. Just once, to make him taste his own medicine, God. Meanwhile, Declan Sullivan stood staring at the New York skyline, his heart strangely heavy. Declan kept staring at her, indifferently. “So?”And to her embarrassment, Kiara's stomach
