The hot afternoon sun felt like a slice of hell. Training on days like these was extra tasking but Ronan was quite the strict trainer. Today his focus was on the twins. I planted my hands on my hips, panting slightly from exertion.

“Talia, Kael—focus!” I called out, laughing despite myself as the twins darted and tumbled through the training grounds. That was how every session with them went, a cross between seriousness and uncontrollable laughter.

Ronan stood beside me, arms folded. He wasn't immune to the twins' antics either. Even now, his expression half-serious, half-amused as he watched Kael send a small burst of wind swirling toward his sister. Talia ducked and tried concentrating, faint light seemed to flicker around her tiny fists.

“She’s going to crack it,” Ronan murmured.

The twins had quickly shown signs of celestial magic like elemental control and Ronan had insisted they learn early so they wouldn't become a danger to themselves or to others.

While I knew he was right,
