Hi guys! If you are reading this, thankyou!!! I'm new to this app and just realized that the words that are italicized in the story do not show up as italicized on this app :( Whenever Danika and Aurora are speaking to each other, it is supposed to be italicized to show that the conversation is happening inside her head. I'm really sorry it isn't showing up this was on the app, and I will see if there is anything I can do to fix it. ~ Bekah <3
Aurora’s body goes limp, and I cradle her in my arms. Fuck. This didn’t exactly go as planned. I press the sleeve of my sweater to her eye in an attempt to stop the bleeding which seems to slow now that she has lost consciousness. I wipe some of the blood from her face with my other sleeve; my immaculately white sweater now dyed crimson.I face the room with Aurora in my arms, my entire family staring at her with fear in their eyes, except my father who now looks almost excited, and I think I know why. “My apologies. She seems to have just unlocked her magic and needs some practice controlling it,” I say, defending her.“She had her magic bound to her wolf. She got them both yesterday when she turned eighteen,” Adelaide interjects and a lot of my questions for Aurora just got answered. I had intended to let her tell me everything when she was ready but holding her helpless body in my arms makes me realize, I need to know everything about her so I can keep her safe.My father doesn’t s
I feel consciousness seeping into my mind, bringing with it an alertfulness I wasn’t expecting to feel after passing out. When I open my eyes the world comes into focus immediately and I am aware of the crackling of the fire across the room and of Samael’s embrace surrounding me. His fingers in my hair tempt to lure me back into unawareness, but the whispered voices of Adelaide and a man I’ve never seen before distract me. They sit in front of the fire, heads close together and speaking in hushed tones. I turn to look up at Samael, and he beams down at me. “Welcome back,” he says softly. Leaning down, he places a sweet kiss on my lips and nuzzles my nose lightly. “How do you feel?”I smile at his closeness, and the allure of his voice. “I feel completely fine.”“And Danika?” he asks me, moving us into a sitting position in the middle of the bed.“Danika?” I call out to her in my mind.Silence.Frowning, I look up at my mate. “I can’t feel her.”I focus harder, concentrating on her v
Samael lifts me onto his lap and holds me tightly. “Danika will be fine, Aurora. After you shift, it shouldn’t affect her like this again. Shifting will bring you both closer, sharing your strength equally, so when you use your magic, it will draw from both of you instead of just one.” His words do help calm me down, but I’m still gripped with worry for my wolf. Did she know what she was doing? Did she purposefully shield me from the pain and take it all herself? “*Danika?*” I call to her softly. Still nothing, though I can hear her faint snores, which will have to do for now. “I think this is enough for today,” Samael says to Adelaide as he strokes my hair. “Come back tomorrow morning.” I hear Addie rise from her chair and turn to face her, “Thank-you for telling me all this, I know I still have a lot to learn.” I pull myself from Samael’s lap, to wrap Addie in a hug. She takes my face in her hands and smiles at me. “You are so powerful Aurora; I know you will be a great witch, an
Being in my mates arms after everything I’ve been through, feels like some sort of dream. This is my life now; being doted on by a king and treated like a queen… and actually becoming a queen. I’ve always known it was my birthright to lead a kingdom, I just didn’t expect it to be a vampire kingdom. Will they even want a queen who isn’t one of them?“Sam?” I say, using Seth’s nickname for him. “Will the vampires here accept me as their queen if I’m not a vampire?”“Say that again,” he murmurs quietly, his black eyes somehow growing darker.“Um, well, I’m not a vampire. So, will the vamp-”He cuts me off, “No. My name. Say it again.”“Samael?” I question. Maybe he didn’t like me using his nickname. But he just shakes his head and says, “Try again.”“Sam,” I say softly, a small smile playing on my lips.“Much better when you say it.” He chuckles and thrusts his hard cock into me once again. I groan with surprise and desire as he stretches me and fills me so deep. So. Fucking. Deep. “Say
Aurora detaches herself from me and makes her way over to Adrian and Dimitri. I know having those two as her guards is the only way she would feel comfortable with having guards in the first place. I know it was the right decision, but the beast inside me is raging with jealousy as I watch her hug them both in turn.I’ll just have to keep reminding myself that if I want her to have guards they need to be people she can trust, and she obviously trusts these two.I clear my throat loudly and all three of them turn to look at me. “So, you have accepted my request?” Adrian nods, and Dimitri grins widely.“Yeah, well, your man Seth mentioned a pay raise, a huge bedroom with a balcony, and something about a twenty-four-hour maid and food service… what was there not to accept, really?” Adrian elbows Dimitri in the ribs and Aurora giggles. Goddess fuck, I’m going to have to keep these idiots around forever. Or, until I figure out how to make Aurora giggle like that.“Yes, those are some perks
Adelaide rises from my throne and Aurora runs to engulf her in an embrace. They squeeze each other tightly for a moment, and I watch the bond they’ve developed continue to grow stronger. After a few pleasantries are exchanged, we seat ourselves at the table behind my throne and Adelaide gets right down to business. She explains to Aurora all about witch history and the different elements they can draw power from: water, fire, air, earth, light, void, and blood. She tells her how most witches live in covens, which can range from small residencies to large cities, like Adelaide’s city; Vesper’s Void. It is home to her coven but also to other vampires and humans.I can tell Aurora is excited to be learning about her witch side. I could teach her about her werewolf side, but I think her father would be better suited for that. I will have to tell her some important pieces of information before her first shift, however.“So, blood is the weakest element to be attuned to?” Aurora asks sudde
I’m entangled in blankets and in Samael’s arms, enjoying this time with my mate when a knock on the bedroom door interrupts us. Samael is a blur as he runs to open it. Two vampires in red and black uniforms – the colours I’ve noticed all the workers in the castle wear – are on the other side of the door and present Samael with a large box and a glass vase full of flowers.Once he thanks them and closes the door, he returns to me, carrying the deliveries. “These are for you my love,” he says sweetly, handing me the vase; the glass work is beautiful; intricate floral designs make it almost as lovely as the flowers it holds. Roses, baby’s breath, snowdrops, and poinsettias are overflowing out of the vase, the aroma coming off them is alluring. I inhale the scent of the flowers deeply, and smile at my wonderful mate.“Thank you Sam,” I say, using his nickname again. I place the vase on the bedside table and throw my arms around him. “No one has ever gotten me flowers before, I love them!”
Samael places a kiss on my cheek, and we exit the bedroom. The walk to the banquet hall is long; but he keeps our pace slow for me, as if he couldn’t care less if we were late. The heels take some getting used to but are actually not too difficult to maneuver in.For the first time in my life I feel elegant and beautiful. I don’t even have to remind myself to smile as we enter the banquet room, my face is split open in a wide grin. The way the vampires in the room all go silent and stare at Samael and I in shock sends a strange kind of thrill through me, it’s almost gloating.“*It’s because all the women here wanted him, Aurora. These banquets were taking place so he could choose a queen, and now he’s walking in here with you, someone who wasn’t at the first two banquets and who isn’t even a vampire,*” Danika reminds me. The thrilling feeling grows stronger as I realize it’s jealousy in the eyes of almost every female in the room, and even some of the males. And they are all so stun
