Chapter 28 - Two months later

Gabriel POV

River has been home for two months now and she went back to her own house. She said that she likes to be around me a lot but we should take things slow and actually date as normal people do. So that's what we are doing. I’m picking her up from work tonight and take her for dinner and then a movie. She likes the idea of us being a normal couple although I have security around us both.

She was upset when I told her she would have a couple of m guys looking after her. She thinks it is unnecessary but I know it isn’t. I’m still at war with the Mexican cartel and I can’t let her unsafe.

I call her as soon as I stop the car in front of her building and she walks out wearing an amazing black dress that hugs her curves that came back after being medicated. She’s had another
