My fingers gripped my champagne glass tighter. He looked… neutral…felt like something was bothering him.

Finally, he spoke. His voice was low, steady. “I wasn’t sure I wanted to say anything tonight. To be honest, I don’t usually share stories from my past. Not because I’m ashamed, but because some scars don’t really fade.”

The room stilled. Every eye on him.

“As everyone knows, My father, Mr Wills built his company from the ground up,” Logan continued. “Just like many of you here. He worked hard. He taught me that business wasn’t about numbers, but about people. He taught me it was about trust.”

He paused, his jaw clenching for a moment. I knew that look. Logan was holding something back.

“But… one day, that trust was somehow broken. Mistakes were made, papers were signed, partnerships twisted, and everything we had was just… taken from us. Our company crumbled overnight.”

My heart clenched as I listened. He never told me this part before, and I never bothered to ask.

My breath caught.Did he just… ask me that? The world around us blurred. I could swear I heard my own pulse hammering in my ears.Me? I wasn’t even sure if I was going to hear that word again this early. Was he serious?? I mean yes I want to be, Logan. YessI opened my mouth but nothing came out. “Logan…” My voice cracked, soft, helpless. His thumb brushed my cheek, tender but steady. “Don’t overthink it. I know you’re not really sure, but I also know what I feel when I’m with you. You ground me, Amelia and I don’t want you to be my fake girlfriend anymore. It’s real…what I feel for you.”I swallowed hard, blinking back the small sting in my eyes. “ I understand… I just don’t know if I can….”What was I doing??He pressed his forehead gently against mine, stopping my worries.“You don’t have to answer tonight,” he whispered. “Just… don’t push me away.”The lump in my throat grew so big it hurt to breathe. I nodded faintly, unable to form words. Finally, he pulled back slightly, a fai

I barely noticed the sound of the door opening. My eyes were fixed on the laptop screen, the words blurring because my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. Cancelled. Partnership withdrawn. The largest client we had. My throat felt dry, my chest tight. “Amelia?” Logan’s voice was calm, steady. I turned toward him, my breath shaking. “Logan… something happened.” My voice cracked, and I hated how weak I sounded. “One of our biggest shipments, it’s cancelled. Our clients, they pulled out of the deal. Cathy just sent me the email.” He moved closer, his steps slow, deliberate, a slight worry on his face. “Sit down,” he said softly, guiding me toward the edge of the bed. His hand brushed my arm, his touch warm, grounding but somehow it only made my panic spill out faster. “I don’t understand,” I whispered, pressing my palm against my forehead. “Nothing like this has ever happened before, Logan. I called one of the guys in Corporate Affairs and he said something about image tarnishing, or black

Amelia's POV Things were a lot different between me and Logan now. We’d both admitted how we felt, and honestly, it still felt surreal. Like… how did I even get here? It was already the fourth day of the retreat. If we're being real, If someone had told me before coming here that I’d end up having sex with Logan, I would’ve laughed in their face. But well, life comes at you fast. This morning he brought me breakfast in bed, and I couldn’t stop smiling. He really was sweeter than I ever gave him credit for. Such a refreshing change from everything I’d been through. After a shower, I stood in front of the mirror, blow-dried my hair, and tied it into a ponytail. Since the events usually held in the evenings, I had nowhere to rush to. I figured I’d check my phone and laptop, since I’d barely touched them since coming to Paris. I sat on the bed, phone in hand, and dialed my mom first. She picked up almost instantly. “Amelia, sweetheart! How’s Paris?” her warm voice filled my ea

Logan's POV The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes was her. Amelia, curled against me, her hair messy across the pillow. My chest tightened. She looked too peaceful and perfect, like I might break her if I moved. Last night replayed over in my head. The way she touched me, the way she said my name. She gave herself to me and I hadn’t felt anything that real in years. I never wanted whatever this was to end now. But…I sighed deeply. Carefully, I brushed a strand of hair from her face. She moved a bit, sighing softly. Then my hand froze. Damn. How could someone like me deserve her? What was I even doing? I'll just end up hurting her. It's better I stick to the plan. But how about how I felt… I shifted slowly, careful not to wake her as I slid out of bed. But the sheets rustled and her lashes fluttered open. Amelia’s eyes met mine, still heavy with sleep, her cheeks pink. “Sorry, didn’t mean to wake you,” I murmured, leaning down. She shook her head, biting her lip, sud

“I… I’m trying to process things,” Logan said, his voice rough. “Process what?” I snapped softly, tears burning my eyes. “Us kissing and you acting like nothing happened between us?” “Something happened.” He nodded, rubbing his hand through his hair like he was losing control. “I agree… I just… I’m confused.” “Then figure yourself out, Logan. And please...leave me out of it. Don’t kiss me anymore if it doesn’t mean anything to you!” My voice broke as the tears slipped free. He stopped. His eyes lifted, locking onto mine. “It did mean something to me.” His hand reached for mine, warm. “No, it didn’t,” I whispered, trying to pull away. “Yes..yes, it did,” he said firmly, holding tighter. “The first time we kissed… and now too. It…” His throat caught, words trembling in his mouth. “Logan…” I breathed, looking at him. He looked like he was begging me to believe him. “You drive me insane,” he finally said, his voice low. “God, Amelia… I think about you every second of the day. Eig
