LOGINChapter 5
Samir has never seen a different side to me before. It’s always the soft, affectionate and kind persona I’ve always shown to him. He hadn’t expected me to stand my ground on the words that I would not go down on my knees to beg for his and his mistress’s forgiveness. Even as I waited truly for him to do his worst. My gaze slowly grew into bewilderment as the door swung wide open and three huge men dressed in a formal suit strolled into the scene. Samir then raised a finger to point at me. “Hold her down,” he instructed, and those men instantly swerved to my side as two out of the three latched a grip on each side my arm. I couldn’t fight against their huge and steady force as I was forced down to my knees. “What is this?” I quizzed in irritation. He couldn’t get me to beg out of my own willingness and decided to make me do it against my will? “I might be on my knees but you’re not getting that apology you so much crave for. You and your stupid mistress can both suck it!” I spat with as much bitterness that coated my face. He smirked, a devious expression on his face as he came closer with his she-devil clung close to him. “Since you wouldn’t beg, why don’t we let go of morals then? Rose, make her pay for what she did to you.” Samir’s words leaked with primal viciousness, his cold gaze locked with mine as he stared me down with hatred. “Aww, thanks baby.” I watched as the whore left his side and came to stand in front of me. I looked up at her, unshaken and rather defiant. “Bitch get your eyes off me!” She knocked my face down with a slap. I hadn’t even recovered when another hit slammed down on me. “What happened to that power you think you had now bitch?” She questioned as she yanked on my hair, forcing my head to tilt backwards as she spoke into my face. Her face lowered, to mock me further but I took the opportunity to spit out directly into her face. Her grip on my head faltered as she cringed back in awe. “How dare you?!” She yelled whilst trying to get rid of my spit on her face. The two men holding me down suddenly let go of me as they stepped away from me. I guess he’s done his worse and still couldn’t get me in line with his demand. I pulled myself back together as I rose to my feet. I sighted my purse not too far from where I stood so I went over to retrieve it. I brought out the divorce papers I’d folded neatly into the purse before I left home alongside the pen I took with it. He wanted divorce so bad he’d let me be this humiliated? To hell with his love or affection. At the moment I no longer care about how much time I’ve wasted on him, how long I’ve pined for him. ‘It wasn’t worth it, it was never worth it.’ Those were my thoughts as I laid down the papers and scribble my signature right where it was needed. Once done I walked over to where he stood with his mistress sobbing dramatically on his chest. I stretched the paper out for him to take. “There you have it. You’re no longer married to me. We’re over, and you can shove your ten million worth of pennies right back up your pathetic sorry excuse of an ass.” I didn’t even wait for him to collect the paper before I slammed it into his chest and proceeded to leave the scene. “Wait.” His voice called back from behind, and I took a pause with my steps to hear the nonsense he’s about to leak. “I don’t want you or your belongings still scrambling around my apartment when I get back home. Do you understand?” I let out a dark chuckle. “You’ll be the one to get rid of those yourself, right now will be the last time you’ll ever set your eyes on me….” I whirled my face around so we could stare directly into each other’s eyes. “So I reckon you take a long look, Samir. Because you’re about to wish you’ve never met me.” I said to him, then turned around and walked out of the exit. And that was it. Five years of my life gone just like that without an achievement to account for it. All because I was in love and believed in fairytales. Contrary to the happy ever after I longed for, I was gifted with a dark feeling as a reward. The need to get even, to hurt him back the same way he hurt me. Divorce was what I deserved after years of loyalty and dedication. My wrath, my vengeance was what he deserved and I’ll make sure he gets it. I took my phone out to call my brother so he could send me a ride to take me home. We hadn’t even finished the phonecall when a SUV drove into the arena and parked right in front of me. A manly figure stepped out to open the door for me to get on board. “Miss Kane.” He bowed at me respectfully. “It’s Miss Addams,” I corrected him, and I smirk at how powerful it felt. “I’ll see you soon.” I said to my brother who I remained on call with as I hung up and got into the car. Samir Kane thought I was no one, said I was a lonely pathetic woman he took pity on. I’ve had a crush on him since forever and he has never noticed, I dedicated myself to him and it wasn’t enough. He doesn’t know I am. And I think it’s high time he does. It’s time for the world to meet Rahne Leticia Addams. Daughter and heiress to the Addams’ Legacy.Chapter 22 Samir Kane’s standpoint I’ve never doubted Mike. He’s proficient and truly has never failed me before. I closed up the text received from him that he’s gotten my task done, attached with a pictorial proof and the address where she’s been safely taken to. I was driving home before, but I had to make a turn after resetting the location sent to me on my map for navigation. Rose call suddenly came in. I saw it and chose to ignore. Whatever she has to say to me can wait, and I’m sure it wouldn’t be important anyways. The call rang out only to started ringing again. I rolled my eyes. “Of course she wouldn’t stop at the first snub!” I groaned as I dimmed the ringing’s volume to a silent degree so my ears wouldn’t have to deal with it. There. She could call as much as she wants and it wouldn’t bother me. …………………… I arrived at the apartment and I couldn’t help but feel a little shaky at the thought of facing my ex-wife. I divorced her. I let her go, and now I just did every
Chapter 21Rahne’s point of view I didn’t want to believe what was obvious. No! This might simply be a trick, a false set up to make me play her game. Dread rushed through me as I dialed in Kingston’s number. I paced round the room, waiting for him to pick up so I could be assured that he’s safe but nobody picked the call till it eventually rang out. I redialed him again and it was the same. “Oh god!” My panic shot up at an alarming speed as I decided to phone Gale instead. Perhaps he’d be aware of Kingston’s whereabout. Gale answered on the first ring. “Hello,” “Have you heard from Kingston?” I went straight to the point. “What’s going on? Why are you asking? What’s happening?” His worry must’ve kicked in at the heard of my shaky voice and the nervousness in my tone. “You need to find out where he is. I don’t think he’s safe, please find out and call me back right now!” “Okay I will, but you need to tell me what’s going on first? Why are you worried about our brother? Shoul
Chapter 20Rahne’s point of view It’s past 2pm already , and if it hadn’t been for the alarm I set. I would’ve forgotten about my date with my anonymous stalker. I rushed up the remains with work to finish up tomorrow as I rounded up for the day. Clark already informed me about the new date picked for my interview, and that’s on Friday of this week. I should be prepared by then. I arrived at the parking lot where both my bodyguards and driver were. The driver was about to go start the car while my guard opened the door for me. “Wait!” I shouted at the driver. “Hand the keys over!” I instructed with my palm stretched out. “There’s someone I need to visit alone,” I told him upon viewing his hesitation to comply. He slowly brought the keys out to place gently on my laid out palm. “Thanks, but I won’t be needing both of your services for the rest of today,” I said to the both of them as I closed the door opened for my entrance and strutted off to take the wheels. I drove past thei
Chapter 19Rahne’s point of view Although my brothers would like for us to proceed straight for dad’s funeral, but I had to oppose and suggest that an autopsy be conducted first before anything. I needed the assessment for when I start building my case against this Celia and her accomplices. I haven’t received any more texts from my anonymous cyber stalker since the last she gave me yesterday, and it was today already which meant that her time for me is almost up. This morning was supposedly the period scheduled for my interview with the city’s elite news network, but I had to let Clark postpone because I wasn’t in the right headspace to handle a conversation for the public right now. I once again busied myself with hundreds of documents detailing the company’s operations. I found a particular file labeled with a name I’m all to familiar with. Samir Kane? We’re affiliated with Samir Kane? This company is doing business with him? I ripped open the file as I began to read through
Chapter 18 Samir Kane’s standpoint “Oh God!” I gasped as google pasted out the details about the name typed into the search bar. It’s the middle of the night so there’s no Rose to come in and hound me at anytime. She’s asleep and didn’t even realize when I left her side. She’s the last child and only daughter to Hiram Addams. Hiram! She isn’t just a random lady. She’s far from random or pathetic. Her father owns this city. Her family are the city’s royalty. Wait how come I never knew this about her or anyone? She attended the same public high school as me and no one knew she’s related to the city’s richest tycoon. “Fuck! This is fucked!” My teeth gritted out as I slapped on my desk. I thought I was married to a leech and had no idea she wasn’t at all anything I’ve deemed her to be. Infact if she had been recognized as my wife, probably half the city’s moguls would wish to deal business with me. She truly must have loved me. And now that I’ve got to know that she’s been in love
Chapter 17 Rahne’s point of view I’d already given the Celia picture I could find to the best trackers I’m acquainted with. I’m going to find her. Wherever is it she took off to. She won’t murder my father due to her greediness and escape justice. Never! I gather all my father’s staffs. My dad has been feeding on poison all these while and one of them should’ve been in charge of his meal. “My father is dead,” I kicked off my conversation with them once they were all together and present with me at the mansion’s lobby. “He died to a poison. A rare type that was continuously fed to him!” Gasps interrupted my speech while most of them instantly broke into tears. “Who was in charge of my father’s meals?” I asked, because whoever that person is must be in alliance with Celia somehow. “The new Madam instructed us all to leave his caring to her. She was the one cooking for him and attending to his welfares.” One of them spoke up to me in between weeping and giving me a response. My
