Chapter 4

By the time I woke up, I’ve been admitted and was met with the stench smell of the champagne that was dumped on me.

I glanced to my side to witness the unpleasant sight of my husband with the bitch from my nightmare. She was all over him, rubbing from his chest to his shoulder, grinning from ear to ear- albeit, he wasn’t saying anything funny or even laughing at whatever she was showing him on her mobile.

Samir stood rigid as usual, no expression of any sort in his face.

“There was no need for the both of you to be in here with me,” I spoke up to the both of them.

They instantly whirled their gaze on me. Rose took that moment to step away from Samir as she came up to me on the bed where I was laid.

“He didn’t want to wait, I personally forced him to because I couldn’t wait and watch your misery alone. I needed someone to watch it with, and who better than the man you tried to steal from me?” She cracked an evil smile before she tapped on her phone, then brought the phone low to my face for me to watch whatever she wanted to show me.

The video began to play, and it was a recording of me fainting. It wasn’t just a mere recording, it has been posted on the internet with the most vicious caption I’ve ever seen.

Anxiety pricked at my skin and she only laughed out loud at my distress.

Was this what she was watching with Samir and laughing at?

“Samir!!!!” I screamed at my husband who just stood there and said nothing. He allowed this much humiliation to happen to me.

To happen to the woman who has cared and loved him for the better part of a decade!

How could a heart of a man be this dark? This wicked!

“You keep his name out of your dirty mouth, you piece of garbage.” Rose’s index shoved at my face, nearly poking into my eyes.

I slapped her finger away as I slid down from the bed. I cannot be here. I need to get out of here.

Rose jumped on my path with her arms spread out and a bitter look on her face. “And where did you think you’re going?” She scoffed then hissed heavily.

“You’re not leaving this room unless you’ve signed those divorce papers,” she said in a grounded tone.

I raised a palm to soothe my forehead. An ache already growing inside the head as I let out a breathy sigh.

“Get the fuck out of my way!” I gently laid the order.

“Or what? What will you do? Need I remind you of what happened to you the last time you tried to have your own back,” she then lowered her phone to show me the video of myself going unconscious again.

My rage grew into more than I could contain, and in a fitful move, I snatched the phone out of her hand and threw it against the nearest wall.

Pleasure coursed through me at the sight of her shattered phone and the shock written all over her face.

“Bitch!” She yelled as she reached for my hair and yanked on it.

I yelped at the tug of pain as I quickly grabbed at her wrist to try and pull her grip off.

“How fucking dare you!” She landed a slap on my face, and that was all it took for me to let go of my restraints.

I went feral on her as I grabbed her by the neck and tackled her to the ground. She immediately let go of my hair once I began to choke her.

She began to fight against my clutch at her neck, slapping and punching and pinching, whatever that gets my suppression off her neck.

My hold refuse to flinch, I only pressed harder.

“H…elp!” She choked out. “Sa…m-mir!”

I felt a force grabbed at my shoulder as I was pulled forcefully off of her. I glanced at the force and saw it was Samir’s hands.

He had pulled me away to save his mistress, to protect her. Something he couldn’t do for me when the said mistress was verbally abusing me.

I watched Rose scrambled off to her feet as she ran over to Samir’s behind, wrapping her arms around him as she bursted into tears.

“Apologize to her,” Samir calmly demanded. “You broke her phone, and then proceeded to assault her. Apologize to her right now!”

I looked at him, paled at the words coming out of his mouth. Still reeling from the fury concocted against this whole situation.

“What did you just say?” I had to question, could be that my ears were picking up the wrong words.

“I said. Apologize, to-“

He hadn’t finish spoken when I launched a firm slap on his face. How dare him?

“How dare you? Who do you think you’re?”

“Rahne!” His voice deepened as his eyes snapped temporarily close. “Did you just hit me?” Venom dripped at the layer of his voice.

“And I’ll do it over and over again if you don’t start speaking with your sense! Who do you think you are?”

“I could sue you. I could destroy your life. That’s exactly who I am Incase you don’t know, I’m letting you off easy with the demand that you go down on your knees right now and apologize for touching her and then laying your filthy hands on me!” His words sliced at me like a dagger would chop down a victim.

I laughed painfully. Can’t believe I really wasted five years, and all it took for me to see the bullshit I married was a divorce paper.

“You really don’t know who I am right? Other than my first name, that’s the only thing you know about the wife you’ve been married to for the past five years!” I chuckled, the chuckle as painful as my emotions.

“Other than a lonely lowlife I saw sitting by herself, looking wretched until I came into her life. What else is there to know about you? Now I’m not gonna keep asking you this, it’s either you go down on your knees right now and beg for both our forgiveness or I’ll show you just how cruel I can really be.”

He finally said it.

So that’s the image he’s truly had of me since we’ve been together. That I was some lonely lowlife in need of his intervention. That’s who he really thinks I am. He has zero idea about who he married.

Damn. Tears slid down my cheeks, and I quickly rose a palm to clean it up. He’ll never me cry, that’s a show for the mental image he’s had for me. A pathetic lonely bitch.

“You want divorce? You’ll get your divorce. But you see this demand of yours, that you won’t get cause I’d like to very much see just how cruel you can truly be!” I said to him, coldly like his usual demeanor.

He’ll know just who I am in the hardest way.

Chapter 22 Samir Kane’s standpoint I’ve never doubted Mike. He’s proficient and truly has never failed me before. I closed up the text received from him that he’s gotten my task done, attached with a pictorial proof and the address where she’s been safely taken to. I was driving home before, but I had to make a turn after resetting the location sent to me on my map for navigation. Rose call suddenly came in. I saw it and chose to ignore. Whatever she has to say to me can wait, and I’m sure it wouldn’t be important anyways. The call rang out only to started ringing again. I rolled my eyes. “Of course she wouldn’t stop at the first snub!” I groaned as I dimmed the ringing’s volume to a silent degree so my ears wouldn’t have to deal with it. There. She could call as much as she wants and it wouldn’t bother me. …………………… I arrived at the apartment and I couldn’t help but feel a little shaky at the thought of facing my ex-wife. I divorced her. I let her go, and now I just did every

Chapter 21Rahne’s point of view I didn’t want to believe what was obvious. No! This might simply be a trick, a false set up to make me play her game. Dread rushed through me as I dialed in Kingston’s number. I paced round the room, waiting for him to pick up so I could be assured that he’s safe but nobody picked the call till it eventually rang out. I redialed him again and it was the same. “Oh god!” My panic shot up at an alarming speed as I decided to phone Gale instead. Perhaps he’d be aware of Kingston’s whereabout. Gale answered on the first ring. “Hello,” “Have you heard from Kingston?” I went straight to the point. “What’s going on? Why are you asking? What’s happening?” His worry must’ve kicked in at the heard of my shaky voice and the nervousness in my tone. “You need to find out where he is. I don’t think he’s safe, please find out and call me back right now!” “Okay I will, but you need to tell me what’s going on first? Why are you worried about our brother? Shoul

  • The Heiress He Never Loved    Chapter 20

Chapter 20Rahne’s point of view It’s past 2pm already , and if it hadn’t been for the alarm I set. I would’ve forgotten about my date with my anonymous stalker. I rushed up the remains with work to finish up tomorrow as I rounded up for the day. Clark already informed me about the new date picked for my interview, and that’s on Friday of this week. I should be prepared by then. I arrived at the parking lot where both my bodyguards and driver were. The driver was about to go start the car while my guard opened the door for me. “Wait!” I shouted at the driver. “Hand the keys over!” I instructed with my palm stretched out. “There’s someone I need to visit alone,” I told him upon viewing his hesitation to comply. He slowly brought the keys out to place gently on my laid out palm. “Thanks, but I won’t be needing both of your services for the rest of today,” I said to the both of them as I closed the door opened for my entrance and strutted off to take the wheels. I drove past thei

Chapter 19Rahne’s point of view Although my brothers would like for us to proceed straight for dad’s funeral, but I had to oppose and suggest that an autopsy be conducted first before anything. I needed the assessment for when I start building my case against this Celia and her accomplices. I haven’t received any more texts from my anonymous cyber stalker since the last she gave me yesterday, and it was today already which meant that her time for me is almost up. This morning was supposedly the period scheduled for my interview with the city’s elite news network, but I had to let Clark postpone because I wasn’t in the right headspace to handle a conversation for the public right now. I once again busied myself with hundreds of documents detailing the company’s operations. I found a particular file labeled with a name I’m all to familiar with. Samir Kane? We’re affiliated with Samir Kane? This company is doing business with him? I ripped open the file as I began to read through

  • The Heiress He Never Loved    Chapter 18

Chapter 18 Samir Kane’s standpoint “Oh God!” I gasped as google pasted out the details about the name typed into the search bar. It’s the middle of the night so there’s no Rose to come in and hound me at anytime. She’s asleep and didn’t even realize when I left her side. She’s the last child and only daughter to Hiram Addams. Hiram! She isn’t just a random lady. She’s far from random or pathetic. Her father owns this city. Her family are the city’s royalty. Wait how come I never knew this about her or anyone? She attended the same public high school as me and no one knew she’s related to the city’s richest tycoon. “Fuck! This is fucked!” My teeth gritted out as I slapped on my desk. I thought I was married to a leech and had no idea she wasn’t at all anything I’ve deemed her to be. Infact if she had been recognized as my wife, probably half the city’s moguls would wish to deal business with me. She truly must have loved me. And now that I’ve got to know that she’s been in love

  • The Heiress He Never Loved    Chapter 17

Chapter 17 Rahne’s point of view I’d already given the Celia picture I could find to the best trackers I’m acquainted with. I’m going to find her. Wherever is it she took off to. She won’t murder my father due to her greediness and escape justice. Never! I gather all my father’s staffs. My dad has been feeding on poison all these while and one of them should’ve been in charge of his meal. “My father is dead,” I kicked off my conversation with them once they were all together and present with me at the mansion’s lobby. “He died to a poison. A rare type that was continuously fed to him!” Gasps interrupted my speech while most of them instantly broke into tears. “Who was in charge of my father’s meals?” I asked, because whoever that person is must be in alliance with Celia somehow. “The new Madam instructed us all to leave his caring to her. She was the one cooking for him and attending to his welfares.” One of them spoke up to me in between weeping and giving me a response. My
