Chapter 6 Teaching Him a Lesson

Author: Night Eleven
Jimmy had always thought that the common folk were beneath him. He didn't notice that Aria's gaze changed as she looked up. Viciousness and contempt filled her eyes.

She casually toyed with a piece of candy in her palm. Then, she flicked toward Jimmy.

He felt his knee give out as he fell to the ground.

"Ah!" The pain caused him to frown.

He tried to get up but realized that he couldn't move his body at all. He couldn't talk, and his hands wouldn't budge.

It felt like his movements had been sealed with the attack.

Aria walked up to him and said calmly, "As a medical student, you failed miserably at determining the patient's symptoms, and you even declared a verdict without a second thought.

"Being a doctor doesn't mean you're better than anyone else. It's a job for you to help people in need. You're unskilled and unethical. Now that you're on your knees, I'll accept your apology. Consider this a lesson I'm teaching you in your mentor's stead."

"You!" Jimmy's eyes were filled with hatred.

Aria leaned in and whispered in his ear. "Since you're such a shameless person, it'll probably be okay if you remain on your knees here for a couple of hours."

"What did you do to me? I want to call the cops! I have been assaulted!" Jimmy yelled.

Aria smiled. "And who can prove anything? Mr. Cornell, you got on your knees yourself. I didn't even touch you."

"I know right? He deserves that!"

The people in the crowd felt great satisfaction seeing Jimmy in that state.

"The young lady didn't do anything. Stop lying!"

That was the truth. He was the one who refused to help the boy. He was also the one who was running his mouth after Aria provided treatment for the boy.

He was also the one who had been cursing at everyone in the crowd and was shameless enough to refuse to apologize. He was a true disgrace to the medical profession.

Did he really think he could just say all those things without repercussions? He even tried to blame Aria for his condition.

The women in the crowd started to yell, "Everyone, come and take a look! There's an unskilled medical student here. He's on his knees to apologize right now!"

"You! All of you!" Jimmy's face was flushed, and his breath was labored.

That was why people didn't mess with the ordinary citizens who were brave, kind, and despised delinquency. Jimmy was a fool for being so domineering in front of them.

The more people looked at him, the lower Jimmy's head hung. He wished the ground would open up and swallow him up. He was afraid that someone would recognize him.

The malice in his eyes grew as he looked at Aria.

They were both in the medical industry. So, they were bound to meet again someday. He swore he would get back at her the next time they met.

Aria didn't spare him another glance. Besides, if they crossed paths again, she didn't mind breaking his legs.

Quite a lot of the older people in the crowd asked for Aria's contact information. They had seen how she performed acupuncture on the boy.

It was clear that she was an extremely skilled doctor. They were determined to secure her contact information.

Aria didn't turn any of them down, so she added them to her contacts.

Francine asked enthusiastically, "Young lady, you were so skilled with the needles. Is there a traditional medicine practitioner in your family?"

Aria thought about Georgina Harris, the woman who used to be her grandmother while she was living with the Kents. Georgina was the only one who showed her any kindness.

She came up with a solid reason. "Yes. My grandmother practices traditional medicine. She runs a care center."

"No wonder. I'll introduce some clients to her soon!"

"Sure." Aria thanked Francine politely.

Aria didn't have the airs of a renowned doctor at all. She was a legend hiding in plain sight.

The boy hadn't spoken at all since he talked to Jimmy. He just sat there quietly as he observed everything. His eyes were very bright, and he looked really adorable.

After she finished talking to everyone else, Aria looked at him. "Are you still lightheaded?"

He shook his head. Then, he looked up at Aria. "Miss, I'm Miles. Thanks for saving me. If it weren't for you, I would've been dead."

Miles York's voice was very sweet. His eyes were round, and his face was very smooth and cute. He did a cute little bow when he thanked Aria.

"Your name is Miles? Where is your family?" Aria asked with a raised eyebrow.

"They're all inside!" Miles said as he pointed behind him at the Caesar Hotel. Not just anyone could get in there at the moment.

"Marius Vale accepted bribes and betrayed Elijah. Roan Kells deliberately and maliciously set Elijah up. He has committed multiple offenses. Lastly, Lirio Zook abused his authority and knowingly violated the law."Aria paused briefly before continuing. "We've submitted relevant evidence to the police. Investigations are already underway against all three individuals I just mentioned."At the same time, we discovered that Roan had committed several additional crimes. We trust that the justice system will deliver a fair and lawful verdict."She stepped forward. "On behalf of Carver Group and Mr. Elijah Carver, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress this incident has caused."We have learned from this experience and will strengthen protections for our family members to ensure nothing like this happens again. That said, I also have a message for everyone."The Carver family will not tolerate being taken lightly. Anyone who harbors ill intentions toward us will live t

More and more people began thinking rationally instead of blindly conforming to public opinion. Doubts about the scandal gradually surfaced, and several reputable media outlets urged the public to wait for the full truth before jumping to conclusions. This was exactly how Aria planned to turn the tide. From the beginning, she knew she couldn't intervene directly. Without solid grounds, stepping into Elijah's case would only make things worse.Fortunately, Lirio's bribery case gave her the perfect opening to get involved. At the same time, the York Group's official social media account released a statement regarding Elijah. "The events surrounding Mr. Elijah Carver were intentionally orchestrated. We call on everyone to remain rational and wait for the facts. The York Group will stand alongside the Carver Group throughout this matter."The statement caused an uproar online. "I can't believe York Group actually posted on their social media, and for Elijah, no less! Their account

Meanwhile, Aria was on her way to the hospital. Not long after, the car came to a stop. As soon as she stepped out, she spotted Landon standing a short distance away. When he saw her, he walked over at an unhurried pace.Aria lifted her chin. "How long have you been waiting? Didn't you already tell me the room number? There was no need to come down and meet me."Landon's gaze softened. "I missed you. That's why I came."Aria reached out and gently smoothed the loose strands of hair on his forehead. "I'm really lucky to have you."Landon looked straight at her. "Me too. Has Lirio been taken care of?"She nodded. "He confessed everything. The Shadow Organization is behind this. It's made up of powerful figures from multiple countries. I just don't understand why an organization like that would target the Carver family." Landon replied calmly, "Shadow Organization? It’s possible they're not just after the Carver family, but the York family as well.""You said their members are

Lirio had spent his entire career at the police station solving impossible cases and arresting criminals no one else could touch. Yet now, for the first time in his life, he sat on the opposite side of the table, finally experiencing what it meant to be a criminal. He convulsed violently. "You're coercing me! This testimony won't stand! It's too ticklish! Stop it! Stop!"Aria raised an eyebrow. "Coercion? I'm afraid that concept doesn't exist in the SMU. We only deal in evidence."This is just the beginning. Honestly, I hope you don't talk. That way, you'll truly understand what it felt like when you tortured others during interrogation."She paused briefly before adding, "If I actually wanted to coerce you, you'd start talking in ten seconds. Bank passwords in thirty. One minute in, and you'd be begging to die."You and I aren't the same. You took bribes and sent innocent people to jail just to pad your record."It only took three minutes before Lirio started yelling, "I'll talk

Seeing Lowen swat his hand without a word, Lirio turned and headed outside. What he didn't know was that two black SUVs had already pulled up silently in front of the police station. They sat there like armored beasts. One-way blast-resistant film covered the windows, concealing whoever was inside. The moment Lirio spotted the vehicles, his steps faltered. A group of people dressed in black stood rigidly beside them, their gazes fixed on him.Lirio stammered, "W-Who are you? Please excuse me. I need to go home and change.""Lirio Zook, correct? Take him away." The members of the Special Missions Unit moved in at once, seizing him and dragging him toward the SUV behind them.Lirio's face twitched violently. The arrogance he once carried had vanished without a trace, replaced by naked fear and humiliation. The disturbance drew the attention of officers inside the station, yet not a single one stepped forward."Where are you taking me? I want a lawyer!" Lirio shouted as he strugg

Aria bent down and removed the metal clamps. "Elijah, I'm here."Elijah slowly lifted his head. When he saw Aria, a flicker of surprise and relief crossed his eyes. He tried to speak, but only a hoarse whimper came out. The agony in his body and the emotional torment were too much for him to take. He could no longer hold back his tears at the sight of Aria. The head of the Disciplinary Committee pulled out his phone and showed Lirio the files and complaint letter that Aria sent. "We've already obtained concrete evidence against you."Recently, your wife's account received a suspicious transfer of one million dollars from an anonymous account. The funds have been verified as a bribe from an overseas account, paid to coerce a false confession from Elijah."The person's tone became sterner. "Additionally, we have received reports that you abused your position to accept multiple bribes and secure improper benefits for others. We are still verifying the evidence. Do you have anything
