Chapter 5 Acupuncture Works

Author: Night Eleven
Aria stuck the first needle into the boy without any hesitation.

The boy immediately frowned. It was like he was regaining his consciousness. It looked like he was struggling as his brows furrowed even deeper.

Someone in the crowd yelled, "He's waking up!"

Jimmy was stunned. His face grew pale. "This can't be…"

How did she pull that off? Just one needle? Could a person really regain consciousness from that?

Aria raised her hand again. Her gaze was focused, and she looked very composed.

She stuck the second needle into the boy's fingertips to draw some blood.

Right after she did that, the boy opened his eyes. His pupils were dark and round, while his eyelashes were extraordinarily long.

He glanced at Aria quietly, but his face was still quite pale.

Everyone in the crowd was stunned.

Francine spoke up, "Young lady, you healed with a few pokes of the needle?"

Aria applied some light pressure on the needle. She saw that the bloodletting was done, so she removed the needle and pressed a cotton ball on the wound to stop the bleeding.

"Madam, it's not that simple. Applying acupuncture to the fingertips can help with dissipating the heat. He was inflicted with heat stroke, which was caused by the high temperature. I just helped him cool down with acupuncture."

"Spare me the theatrics. That kid hasn't spoken a word since he regained consciousness. You probably left him with some side effects with your treatment!" Jimmy snorted.

Francine was a little annoyed. "The boy has already regained consciousness. Why are you talking about side effects? Are you just trying to get out of apologizing to the young lady?"

"That's none of your business!" Jimmy looked at Francine and suddenly sneered. "I understand now. You're all in on this. You pulled me here, and she's trying to scam me.

"This is an organized scam, isn't it? I knew traditional medicine practitioners were all scum."

Aria's expression grew cold when she heard that. She was about to raise her hand.

Then, the boy spoke up in a weak but icy tone, "Traditional medicine has always been an essential part of Farshya's culture. You're a lousy doctor, sir. You should put more effort into studying."

"You…" Jimmy was at a loss for words. The boy spoke up right after he said he wasn't healed. The boy even spoke out against him. It was clear that the boy wasn't on his side.

Francine burst out into laughter. "Hey, kid. He's talking about you. You should put more effort into studying."

"I won't waste my breath with you bottom feeders anymore. You're just a group of peasants," Jimmy said in disdain.

Aria flicked a needle in his direction. It brushed past his face and got stuck in a tree nearby.

Such a violent display caused Jimmy to freeze up. Even his legs felt like they were about to give out.

Aria smiled as she said casually, "Don't you think you've forgotten about something?"

She was just a young woman, but she had a very vicious and commanding presence, which caused Jimmy to feel fear.

He tried to keep his cool. "What did I forget?"

"An apology," Aria said as she tapped on her phone. She looked devilishly charming.

Jimmy didn't want to do that. So, he said arrogantly, "Everyone makes mistakes. I don't have any more time to waste with a traditional medicine practitioner like you."

Francine couldn't stand his attitude anymore. "Is this how a student of Dr. Salome Gunther would act? You lost a bet to that young woman, and yet you refuse to apologize? Such ethics…"

"What's wrong with my ethics? Who here can prove I lost a bet to her? None of you will ever have enough money to pay for Dr. Gunther's treatment.

"Me being here and providing free medical services is an honor for all of you. How dare you peasants keep babbling about such nonsense? Don't you dare cause trouble here! Do you even know where you are right now?"

Francine's hands trembled in anger. "You… You!"

Jimmy snorted. He looked at all of them with utter disdain. They were in a modern society. He didn't believe that Aria would dare to do anything to him.

"I don't want your apology. I want her to apologize to me," Finian snarled as he looked at Nessa, a hint of viciousness flashing in his gaze. "A free meal doesn't matter to me. "Alright, here's the deal. If you don't know how to discipline her, I'll do it for you. How much are you paying her? I'll pay you double."When Tavish and Ciaran Flaherty heard what Finian said, they exchanged predatory smiles and stared at Nessa as if she were some helpless target.Morag straightened her back and said, "If you're not happy eating here, you can stay away from my restaurant in the future. I don't need your business."Also, I hired her as a waitress in my restaurant. It doesn't concern any of you in any way. If you think she made a mistake, I can apologize to you and waive your meal fee today. "I'd appreciate it if you stayed away from Evening Blossom. You're not welcome here."That was how it had to be. Since Tavish and the others crossed the line, Morag no longer felt the need to accommo

Aria and Landon stood in front of the stage. When she saw Elijah's long-lost smile, her lips finally curved into a faint smile of her own."And it's done," Landon said. "I've always been impressed with Elijah. He has never once used his status as the second son of the Carver family throughout his acting career. "In fact, Fergus and the others were the same. That's why the Carver family has remained strong for so long. The elders paved the way, and the younger generation expanded it."Aria lifted her chin proudly. "Of course. My brothers are all the best of the best."As the press conference came to a close, Carver Group and York Group almost simultaneously released official statements clarifying the incident.Their posts immediately attracted a flood of comments."I'm sorry, Elijah.""Roan, Lirio, and Marius deserve to be convicted.""Aria, you're amazing."Followers who had unfollowed their accounts returned, while others apologized for their earlier actions. "Marius Vale accepted bribes and betrayed Elijah. Roan Kells deliberately and maliciously set Elijah up. He has committed multiple offenses. Lastly, Lirio Zook abused his authority and knowingly violated the law."Aria paused briefly before continuing. "We've submitted relevant evidence to the police. Investigations are already underway against all three individuals I just mentioned."At the same time, we discovered that Roan had committed several additional crimes. We trust that the justice system will deliver a fair and lawful verdict."She stepped forward. "On behalf of Carver Group and Mr. Elijah Carver, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress this incident has caused."We have learned from this experience and will strengthen protections for our family members to ensure nothing like this happens again. That said, I also have a message for everyone."The Carver family will not tolerate being taken lightly. Anyone who harbors ill intentions toward us will live t

More and more people began thinking rationally instead of blindly conforming to public opinion. Doubts about the scandal gradually surfaced, and several reputable media outlets urged the public to wait for the full truth before jumping to conclusions. This was exactly how Aria planned to turn the tide. From the beginning, she knew she couldn't intervene directly. Without solid grounds, stepping into Elijah's case would only make things worse.Fortunately, Lirio's bribery case gave her the perfect opening to get involved. At the same time, the York Group's official social media account released a statement regarding Elijah. "The events surrounding Mr. Elijah Carver were intentionally orchestrated. We call on everyone to remain rational and wait for the facts. The York Group will stand alongside the Carver Group throughout this matter."The statement caused an uproar online. "I can't believe York Group actually posted on their social media, and for Elijah, no less! Their account

Meanwhile, Aria was on her way to the hospital. Not long after, the car came to a stop. As soon as she stepped out, she spotted Landon standing a short distance away. When he saw her, he walked over at an unhurried pace.Aria lifted her chin. "How long have you been waiting? Didn't you already tell me the room number? There was no need to come down and meet me."Landon's gaze softened. "I missed you. That's why I came."Aria reached out and gently smoothed the loose strands of hair on his forehead. "I'm really lucky to have you."Landon looked straight at her. "Me too. Has Lirio been taken care of?"She nodded. "He confessed everything. The Shadow Organization is behind this. It's made up of powerful figures from multiple countries. I just don't understand why an organization like that would target the Carver family." Landon replied calmly, "Shadow Organization? It’s possible they're not just after the Carver family, but the York family as well.""You said their members are

Lirio had spent his entire career at the police station solving impossible cases and arresting criminals no one else could touch. Yet now, for the first time in his life, he sat on the opposite side of the table, finally experiencing what it meant to be a criminal. He convulsed violently. "You're coercing me! This testimony won't stand! It's too ticklish! Stop it! Stop!"Aria raised an eyebrow. "Coercion? I'm afraid that concept doesn't exist in the SMU. We only deal in evidence."This is just the beginning. Honestly, I hope you don't talk. That way, you'll truly understand what it felt like when you tortured others during interrogation."She paused briefly before adding, "If I actually wanted to coerce you, you'd start talking in ten seconds. Bank passwords in thirty. One minute in, and you'd be begging to die."You and I aren't the same. You took bribes and sent innocent people to jail just to pad your record."It only took three minutes before Lirio started yelling, "I'll talk
