 Lexis's POV

I stumbled out of the house, my heart heavy with the height of Ethan's betrayal. I can't believe that he would do such a thing to me. Moving on so fast and worst of all, with my step sister. I swear, if it were someone else, I wouldn't have been so angry like I am now.

I have long expected a lot of things from my family. Even though I was still shocked that my step mother would pay the wardens to kill me, I'm not surprised. She is a cruel woman and she would do anything to get whatever she wants.

If she could kill my mother, who was once her best friend, just because she wanted the company, she would do anything. If she could seduce my father and get pregnant for him when my mother was still barren, she would do anything.

So I'm not even surprised that she wanted me dead. She wants to wipe me off the face of the earth so that she would keep the company to herself, I guess.

But never for once did it cross my mind that Ethan would betray me too. The pain and anger threatened to overcome me, threatened to consume me, making my vision blur.

The cool evening air does little to calm the storm brewing inside me. I needed a distraction, something to numb the pain and anything at all would be appreciated.

I would have considered suicide, but that would make me a coward. I still have to avenge my mother's death. I still have to clear her name. I still have to get her company back. I have no idea where I was going, but I just wanted to be away from them. I just wanted to do something that would take my mind off my pain.

And that's when I spotted the bar. The neon lights called out to me like a siren's call and of course, I answered. After all, I wanted something to make me forget my pain before planning my next move on everyone.

I barged into the club and walked straight to the bar lounge. I slid onto a stool. “Hi, could you uhm…pour me a drink?” I asked, trying to sound casual.

“What's your poison?” He asked, his tone light.

  “Whatever's strongest,’’

He raised an eyebrow but poured me a shot without hesitation. I downed it in one gulp, ignoring the burning sensation as the liquor coursed through my veins. I coughed, my eyes watering. That was more than enough sign for me to change my mind about my decision and go home, but I didn't. Instead, I ordered another and another, determined to drown my sorrows.

Just as I was about to take the final shot, a stranger appeared out of nowhere, his hand closing around my wrist like a vice.

“I think you've had enough,” he said, his voice low and smooth.

I turned to face him, my eyes locking onto his chiseled features. He was attractive with piercing sapphire eyes and a strong jawline. For a moment, I forgot about Ethan, forgot about the pain and betrayal. I forgot about my family, forgot about my mother too.

All I could think about was this beautiful stranger in front of me and the way he made me feel.

I stretched out my hands to his face, my fingers tracing the outlines of his cheekbones. He didn't push me away. Instead, he leaned into my touch, his eyes never leaving mine.

Before I knew it, I was kissing him, my lips moving in sync with his. The room around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in the moment. I didn't care about anything else. I just wanted to forget. I just wanted to be wrapped in this stranger's arms and I was glad he wanted the same thing too.

He paid the bartender as he took my hand, leading me out of the bar and into the cool night air. We walked in silence, the only sound, being the clicking of our heels on the pavement. He guided me to his car and made me sit in the back seat. He entered the back too and immediately, the driver, whom I hadn't realized was in the front seat, drove away.

'Come on, Lexi, what do you think you are doing? This man could be a killer. He could be an assassin and you are following him to his house?’ A thought whispered at the back of my head, but I pushed it down.

I'm here to have ‘fun’ and I'm not backing down.

The car pulled up right outside a large building and the man on the driver's seat switched off the car's engine.

“We are here, sir,” he announced as he got down from his seat to help the stranger out of his seat.

“Is this your house?” I asked, but he shook his head.

“This is a hotel. You will crash here with me tonight! I already booked a room there,” He explained and I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation. I didn't know what the night held, but I was ready to let go of my pain and lose myself in this stranger's arms.

We walked to the elevator, our hands clasped together. The stranger pushed the button on the top floor and we rode in silence, our eyes locked onto each other.

As soon as I entered the hotel room , the man turned to me, his eyes burning with desire. I knew what I was getting myself into, but I didn't care. I just wanted to forget, to escape the pain and the heartache. And so, I let him take me, let him make love to me.

It was my first time, and even though it hurts, I forced my mind off the pain. The man stared at me with a knowing stare and I nodded curtly.

 “Yes! I'm a virgin! Please don't stop,”

He didn't. He just continued pounding into me. For the first time in three years, I felt alive. I lay on the bed watching the man as he slept. I knew that I had made a mistake by having sex with a stranger and worst of all, without any protection. What if he was infected?

Well, it was too late now.

I woke up to the sound of my own groggy breathing. My head was pounding and my mouth felt dry. I slowly sat up, looking around the unfamiliar room. That's what I saw him- the stranger I had seduced the night before.

I felt a wave of guilt wash over me as I realized that I had taken advantage of him, using him to forget my pain. I quickly got out of bed, trying not to wake him. I rummaged through the counter, pulling out a note and a pen.

“I'm sorry about last night. Here is my contact! Call me if you need anything and I'll gladly take responsibility for last night,” I wrote, hoping it would be enough to make up for my actions.

I quietly slipped out of the room, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I hailed a taxi and headed back to my family's residence.

As I arrived at the mansion, I was greeted with the sight of my stepmother, step sister and father. They were all sitting in the living room, looking like they owned the place.

“I want all of my mother's properties,” I demanded, trying to sound confident.

My father sneered at me. “You have no right to request anything,” she spat. “You are just a disgraced daughter who's been in prison for three years. You are not even worthy of being called a member of this family.”

I felt a surge of anger, but I tried to keep my cool. “I'm my mother's daughter,” I said, my voice firm. “And I deserve to inherit her properties. Including this house,”

Margaret rolled her eyes. “You are not even a real daughter,” she said, her voice dripping with malice. “You are just a mistake, a product of my father's infidelity. You don't deserve anything,”

My father, Jenkins, looked at me with a mixture of disappointment and disgusting

“You fool, you need to understand that you are not in a position to be making demands,” he said. “You've brought shame to this family and you need to be grateful that we're even willing to take you back in,”

I felt a wave of anger wash over me. How could they be so cruel?

“I don't want your charity.” I spat, my voice venomous. “I want what's rightfully mine and I'll do whatever it takes to get it,”

Claudia sneered at me. “You are just a foolish brat,” she said. “You don't know what you are getting yourself into. But go ahead. Try to take what's not yours and face the consequences,”

I would show them that I was a force to be reckoned with.

“I'll get what's mine and there's nothing you can do to stop me,”

“We'll see about that,” Claudia and my father burst into laughter. “Get ready to meet your mother in hell,”

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    SOMEONE IS HERE TO SEE YOU

Lexi's Point Of View I was about to take a quick nap since I had nothing to do, when a sharp knock came at the door. I just hope it isn't Ethan. But then again, I knew that if he was the one, he wouldn't have knock before coming in. That was how crazy he was. Maybe not crazy. But stupid. What if it was his father? Oh goodness! I don't think I want to face that man again. Especially after what happened that night. I know he has asked me not to worry about anything, but I don't think I can help it. I still can't believe that I had a one night stand with him. Well, I love the fact that I got married to the same man who had stolen my virginity. “Who is there?” I asked after taking a deep breath. I was expecting his deep baritone voice to come up, but instead I was met with a feminine voice. The voice doesn't belong to Grace the housekeeper. She was the only one I knew would dare to come to my room. So who else could it be? “It's me, Madame. Can I come in, please ?" She asked. “Com

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    DON'T HURT YOURSELF

Lexi's Point Of View “Don't worry about them, Lia. I am out of prison and that's all that matters for now.” I said amidst my chuckles. If care is not taken, Lia would go back to that prison yard and demand to know why they haven't been giving me the cookies that she's been bringing for me. That was how crazy she was. But no matter how crazy she was, I still loved her and I was never going to trade her for anything. She is the sister I never had. Most times I find myself wishing that she was my biological sister. “Anyways, where are you staying currently? I went to your house this morning, but I was told by the maids that you don't live there anymore. Plus I didn't meet your family members at home too and I was wondering if they've finally moved out of your mother's house. I swear to God, I'll be happy to know that they are no longer staying in your mother's house anymore." “Of course not. They haven't moved out. I think they are at the hospital right now.” I answered and I cou

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    THEY WILL HEAR FROM ME

THEY WILL HEAR FROM MELexi's Point Of View I sat on the bed and brought out my phone to answer some emails. Yes, I'd spent the whole day trying to speak with some of my mother's former business partners. You know, lot of them stopped investing in my mother's company when they found out what happened that day. And I don't blame them one bit. No one in his right senses would want to associate with a company that had such scandalous news. But thankfully, I made sure to text all of them, asking them if they'll like to reinvest in my mother's company. It was a breath of fresh air to see that they all agreed without batting an eye. Indeed my mother was right when she said they were loyal business partners. She said they were people that she can trust. I really wasn't't expecting them to agree so soon. In fact, I wasn't expecting them to agree at all. I mean they all withdrew their investments when I was framed for killing my mother and I never expected them to want to have anything

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    I'LL TALK SOME SENSES INTO HIM

Margaret's Point Of View I dialed Daniel's phone and waited patiently for him to pick it up. He is Ethan's best friend and the only person who I know can talk senses into Ethan without any fear in the world. Whenever I need anything from Ethan, I make sure to ask Daniel to help me or whenever I needed someone to talk some senses into Ethan, he was my next option and thankfully, he always knows how to talk some senses into Ethan. Till date, I still have no idea how he does it. But I'm glad that he always helps. Daniel didn't pick at first and just when I tried to call him again, his call came in and without hesitation, I answered the phone. “Hi, daniel?” I was sure to clear my throat before speaking up. I have to speak in a firm voice. “Hi, Marga. Sorry I didn't pick up at first. I was with someone.” He answered and I giggled. “Who is she? Your new fling, huh?” I teased and the next minute, he burst into laughter. He knows that I know whenever he is with a woman and he never t

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    STILL IN LOVE WITH HER

Margaret's Point Of View “Have you tried calling him again?” My mother inquired as soon as she walked out of the ward where my daughter was placed and I couldn't even bring myself to answer her. She knows that I've been trying to reach Ethan, but I haven't been able to get to him. I've tried calling him over and over again, but he isn't even picking his calls. The last time I called him was two minutes ago and now that I've tried to call him again, I find out that he has switched off his phone. But the fact that he switched off the phone didn't even bother me. What pissed me off was the fact that he was at his father's house currently. Yes, I had tried to track him when he wasn't returning my calls, because I wanted to know where he was. And now that he is at his father's house, there is every tendency that he is with my fucking step sister. The fool is with LEXI. And that thought filled me with nothing but anger and more hatred for Lexi. She is the reason why my daughter is i

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    CRIMINAL RECORDS

Julian's Point Of View “You got married to that girl?” He asked and I nodded like he could see me. He knows about my obsession with my son's girlfriend ever since I set my eyes on her. In fact, when I met Lexi for the first time, I wanted to take things forward with her. I wanted to tell her how I have been admiring her for a long time and I wanted her to be my girlfriend…. No, not just my girlfriend. I wanted something more. I wanted her to be my wife. Yes, my wife. So she could have my kids. I've always wanted more kids, but my ex-wife never wanted one. She said her body was more important to her than any kids and I didn't push her to go against her wish. Now back to, Lexi. Of course, I told my friend about it. First of all, he was against me getting married to someone who was old enough to be my daughter. He asked me to go for someone else. And when I also found out that she was my son's girlfriend, I also told him about it. And Marcus was happy. The brute really didn't wan

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    YOUR SON'S GIRLFRIEND?

Julian's Point Of View I was about to leave my study and go to my little wife when a call came in on my phone. I wanted to ignore it. Heaven knows I wanted to, but I decided to sit back and answer the call. I reached for the phone which was across the table. The caller ID flashed in my eyes and I exhaled sharply. It was my best friend, Marcus. We've been together since we were teenagers. We did virtually everything together and we even went to the same college. We didn't lose contact with each other, even though we both went separate ways. During my time in college, I made lots of friends who turned out to be business partners till date. But as for Marcus, we are still very close friends till now, even though it's been over thirty years. Thirty? Nah! I think it's over forty. That's how long we've been together. “Hey, man. What's up with you?” His usual grumpy voice came up. “Marcus! What have you been up to?” I asked him and he exhaled. We haven't spoken in a while, especiall

  • The Heiress's Revenge: A Legacy Reborn    015

Ethan's Point Of View What the fuck is wrong with me? I hissed through gritted teeth as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I hadn't gone in there to seduce Lexi. I had only gone there to scold her for hurting my daughter. Yet, I had gone in there to make a fool of myself. I should have left when I heard the shower running, indicating that she was in the bathroom, but I couldn't. It was as if my legs had lost their balance and I couldn't move. I'd wanted to see that succulent body once again. I wanted to touch it.One thing I've come to know about her is the fact that she never fails to leave the bathroom naked. I've been with her for three years to know such little details about her. She rarely leaves the bathroom with her towel draped around her body. And when I heard that she was in the bathroom, I knew she was gonna do the same thing. And boy, she didn't disappoint. I could vividly remember how my cock felt at the thought of her body, pressed against mine. It's safe to sa
