Friday came in like a storm. Steven got the first phone call at five in the morning. Gina was in the hospital, and they expected the baby within an hour. Calista wanted to go to the hospital. Knowing that everyone else would be there when she stood up, she felt the telltale sign of her water breaking. She calmly went over to the drawer and took out a dry pair of pants, and changed as Steven looked at her with a question.
“I have to go to the hospital regardless of my sister,” Calista said softly. “Your son wants to meet his new cousin.”
“What?” Steven said as he looked at her. Just then, the first wave of pain ripped through her body.
“Soon,” Calista said. “The car is packed?”
