Sophie, Alex, and the mermaid were off watching ‘The Notebook'. As it turned out the mermaid loved movies. Something she, Mom, and Shelly had in common. I would guess by this point it was a mermaid thing. I couldn’t see why. Movies were a spin on reality. Mermaids loved anything that created a fantasy. 

I stretched out on the pool chair. The sun bathed my skin. 

Sophie loved the weird romantic movies. Sometimes the ones with the drama. Alex preferred X-rated movies, the ones that weren’t allowed on regular T.V stations. On lesser days, he would be drawn to action movies. I was not sure what Alex got from watching two or more people getting it on on a screen. The worst part was he would go as far as to watch it live. 

As decent as Alex was, he had a sick side. One that often came out to play. The part of him Father’s would chain their daughters in the house so they wouldn’t go near him. To make matters funnier, Sophie
