~ Mira's POV ~

“You cheated?”Alpha Rowan growled, his gaze traveling down to the bed and at me.

“I was taken advantage of. I had no idea, you asked me to collect a parcel but then–”,

" Stop the freaking lies, Mira. I sent you on no such errands”, he cut me off and I pursed my lips in a thin line.

The air stilled.

“Then what about the parcel, the parcel you asked me to pick up", My stomach twisted in knots, refusing to settle. My voice, when it finally came out, barely made it past a whisper as it dawned on me.

But no way. I shook my head in disbelief. He wouldn't go to such an extent just to divorce me.

“Tell me you did ask my assistant to inform me to pick up a parcel," I questioned, quipping a brow. My heart is jackhammering against my ribcage.

“You were trying to cover this up, feeding me with lies. That's unbelievable, Mira", He scoffed, his lips twitching into a smirk.

"Alpha Rowan, you know I didn’t! You framed me! I would never..." Tears rolled down my cheeks.

But he wasn’t listening, scowling and punching the bridge of his nose.

His piercing stormy grey eyes were cold, void of any emotion. The man I had once trusted with everything stared at me like I was a pain in his ass.

“I, Alpha Rowan Blackwood of the Nightshadow Pack, rejects you Mira Wyrmblood, as my mate and Luna”

“And you are hereby sentenced to infidelity, cheating on your mate according to the Pack’s law”, he declared.

I gasped, my breath caught in my throat as the bond snapped like a thread pulled too tightly. A sharp pain tore through every nerve in my body. My knees buckled and I collapsed to the floor, sobs escaping my throat like I was being gagged.

Not a word escaped my mouth as I was being escorted back to the packhouse by his guards.

I loved him for three years but all he has ever shown me is pure hatred.

I gave him all I had because I chose to love him as my one and only fated mate. But he had never glanced at me like one.

And he wanted me to leave, set me up and walked away, like I was nothing.

And just when I thought it couldn't get worse, the pack council arrived.

Infidelity. Under pack law, I was to be exiled.

No investigation. No trial. No truth.

Alpha Rowan didn’t stop there. He made me sign over every right to the company we had built together, the one I ran behind the scenes while he played the front. The one that handled all of the pack’s finances. Everything we had built was stripped away in the blink of an eye from me. My own shares were about to be taken away from me.

I should have stopped hoping and leave quietly but now I got tangled up in a mess I have no fucking damn clue about.

"Sign it," he said, placing the file in front of me like I had a choice.

I stared at the papers, my fingers trembling.

"You planned this," I whispered, my voice barely holding together with silent sobs racking through my whole body.

"Didn’t you?" I choked.

He smirked. "Of course, darling. You made it too easy."

My mouth fell open.

"Why? Why frame me? Why humiliate me?"

"Because I can," he said, stepping closer. "Because I never wanted you. And now I never have to see your pathetic face again."

"No," I said, my voice breaking as I tried to steady my hands. "I built this with you, Rowan. You can't just erase me like I was never part of it."

He laughed. Actually laughed. The sound of it bounced off the walls like bullets, cold and cruel.

"I already did," he replied, his lips curling into a smirk. "You were a placeholder. Nothing more. You really thought you were the Luna of this pack? You? A whimpering little girl I was forced to claim?"

I swallowed the lump in my throat, blinking back the hot tears that pooled in my eyes.

“I won’t sign it. You can’t force me.”

His face darkened instantly. That easy, smug look twisted into something more sinister.

“Oh, but I can,” he stepped closer, his scent no longer comforting, only poisonous. “And if you don’t…” He leaned in, his breath grazing my cheek. “I’ll have you dragged into the woods and buried so deep the Moon Goddess herself won’t find your remains.”

I gasped, taking a step back.

“You’re threatening me?” I whispered, stunned by the monster he was revealing without shame.

His eyes glinted with triumph. “Don’t make me repeat myself.”

I signed. I had nothing left to lose.

They escorted me out of the packhouse like I was some criminal, my wrists bound, guards flanking my sides. No one looked at me. No one spoke. Not a single pack member stood up for me.

I was dumped at the edge of the forbidden lands.

The moment they turned their backs, I ripped off the binds and ran into the trees. I didn’t look back.

Not once.

---

The forest was alive and feral. Trees towered at distance like ancient giants, the air thick with the scent of pine.

A dark aura washed over me making the hair on my skin stand on edge. I walked for hours until my legs gave way.

I collapsed, hungry, weak, and soaked from the rain. My body ached from days of surviving off berries and dodging wild beasts.

One night, I fought off a creature with glowing red eyes, its claws slicing my shoulder. I screamed, kicking it with everything I had. My wolf took over, just long enough to push it off before we limped to safety.

I should’ve died. But I didn’t. Not yet.

Days turned to weeks. I learned to find shelter. I carved weapons from branches. I bathed in rivers and sewed leaves into makeshift clothing.

Every night, I looked at the moon and whispered, "I will survive. I will avenge everything."

Sometimes I saw them, supernatural beings. Sirens that lured with song. Warlocks that whispered madness. Fae creatures with cruel grins and sharp teeth.

I fought them all. Pain became a friend. Fear became fuel. I wasn't weak. I didn’t know what was keeping me alive.

Until I remembered who I was. Not just a broken Luna.  Not just a rejected mate.

I was the granddaughter of Hadrien. A man who once ruled Wyrmblood kingdoms with a glance. And I—I had his fire in my blood.

The memory came in a dream. His voice echoed in my mind.

"Live a fulfilled and ordinary life, Mira. Your fate is cursed. Power is dangerous when the world wants it."

His voice filled my ears, I am the last bloodline of the Wyrmblood Clan.

But now, staring into the flames I’d built in a cave deep within the forest, I whispered back, "Then why does everyone want me dead?"

A scene flashed in my head and I clutched the wood carved weapon, trembling.

I saw them, my parents standing tall, even as they circled around him. Blood ran down my mother’s arm, but she didn’t back down. She was shielding someone. Me.

My father was already wounded, holding a sword too heavy for his arm, his knuckles white with resolve. "Run, Mira!" he shouted, voice raw with panic.

"Run and don’t look back!”

I clutched the moonstone necklace my grandfather gave me before he vanished protecting and shielding me after my parents were martyred. The one I was told never to remove.

My mate didn’t want me. My pack threw me away. The council turned their back.

Even fate itself seemed like a curse. But I’m done running.

Let them come.

Let them all come.

I’ll survive. And raised my head like the Queen that I was.

And I’ll burn everything they love to the ground.

I will come back, not for war but for vengeance.

I will avenge ‘me’ and my clan.

~ Mira's POV ~The scent of coffee lingered in the air as I moved around the kitchen, I looked over at the clock, the sun hadn't fully risen when I dragged myself off the bed, aching and swollen but I had no choice. I had to do the house chores, clean every part of the packhouse then head over to the office. The same routine everyday.I forced myself into my routine. Coffee brewed in the corner as I multitasked, scrubbing dishes with one hand and flipping toast with the other. My fingers felt numb, but I kept moving. The memory of last night rewinding in my head. ~ Mira's POV ~I tapped lightly on the marble coated glass, but no response. I narrowed my eyes, my hands trembling as I turned the door knob. It's unlocked? Maybe he left it unlocked since he knew I would be stopping by. I took a heavy strides into Alpha Rowan's office with a file which requested signing. I halted my steps to the scene before me, I had paid no attention to the sounds. The unmistakable moans that had reached my heightened ears at the doorstep. I refused to breathe for a minute, my fingers were numb and the files dropped on the floor. I should walk out, I should leave the file and go but I couldn't move, my legs were jelly and he might lash out at me for leaving too. I had to freaking watch. Knots swarmed in my stomach, the bile rising in my throat at the sight. Did he call me over to see this? I trembled taking shaky steps forward but my mate wouldn't even look over at my face, almost like my presence hadn't been noticed. “Alpha, I need this signed", I whispered
