Chapter 21

Author's POV

Amelia knocked at the door.

Soon her mother opened the door.

"Amelia" Jenny whispered being surprised. She didn't expect her daughter here at this time.

"Come inside baby" Jenny moved away.

Amelia entered her home.

"You supposed to come back after few days. Isn't it?" Jenny asked her then offered her a glass of water.

Amelia took the glass and gulped down the water immediately.

"The meeting has ended, mom. And my boss's friend has met a deadly accident. So, we had to come back." Amelia said.

"Okay. But why are you looking pale? Are you sick?" Jenny asked and touched her forehead but her temperature was normal.

"I am okay mom. I am not used to traveling for this long. That's why I am looking a little pale. Nothing else" Amelia said.

"Okay. Go get some rest" Jenny said to her.

Amelia nodded and left from there.

She entered her room and put the bag on the ground then laid on her bed. Soon she fell asleep.
