Paige’s POV

My entire body froze.

I stared at the door, my heart hammering against my ribs.

Fuck.

My eyes darted around the room.

My clothes were on. Nothing looked obviously suspicious. Knox was still in the shower.

If Leah walked into this room and he stepped out of that bathroom, I was officially dead.

“Paige?” she called again, knocking. “Are you there?”

I grabbed my bag and hurried to the door, opening it just enough to slip through before pulling it shut behind me.

Leah stood there, worry written all over her face.

“Oh my God. Are you okay?” She immediately reached for my arm.

“I’m fine,” I said quickly, trying to avoid looking at her.

“You scared me. I’m so sorry I didn’t pick up yesterday. My practical ran until evening and—”

“I know. I’m okay now.” I gave her my best reassuring smile.

She linked her arm through mine as we headed downstairs.

“I’m just so tired. I have a deadline coming up for that song I’m writing, remember?”

“Yeah, I remember.”

“And I have absolutely nothing.” She groaned. “No inspiration. No lyrics. Nothing.”

“Since when? You are the queen of writing, mostly Erotica.” I winked at her. “I mean one of your pieces even made me horny”

She winced “Stop, that was George's character, not me.”

“Same thing” I laughed. “That's just to say you are an amazing writer, You just need fresh inspiration.”

She nodded thoughtfully.

“Hmmm” I snapped my fingers. “You need your muse, Enzo”

She looked at me like I had grew two heads. “Who is this and what have you done with my friend”

I rolled my eyes. “Oh, stop.”

“You’ve spent months telling me to leave that man alone, and now you think I should go for it?”

“What?” I shrugged. “You like him. So go for it.”

She stared at me for another second before a smile slowly spread across her face.

“Something happened to you yesterday.” My stomach twisted.

I laughed, shaking my head. “Nothing happened Lee.”

“Okay, Paige.” She gave me a look before walking toward the kitchen counter.

I followed her, finally allowing myself to look around.

And damn.

Knox’s house was beautiful.

The open-plan kitchen flowed seamlessly into the living room, with massive glass windows that overlooked the pool outside. Everything was sleek, polished, and annoyingly beautiful.

I had been so focused on getting out of here that I hadn’t even noticed where I was.

“Anyway,” Leah continued, leaning against the counter, “I’ve still not heard from Enzo since I gracefully embarrassed myself at that party.”

I opened my mouth to respond, but footsteps sounded behind us.

Knox descended the stairs, hair damp and tousled, wearing a dark T-shirt and gray sweatpants. He looked annoyingly good for someone who had wrecked my whole body just hours ago.

Every memory from this morning came flooding back. My thighs clenched on instinct. He looks really good.

Get yourself together Paige.

Leah noticed her brother and immediately frowned.

“There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” Leah said, passing me coffee.

Knox raised an eyebrow. “Why?”

“Because I wanted to know if you actually took care of Paige.” She glanced at me before looking back at him. “You two didn’t spend the whole night bickering, did you?”

“She’s right here,” Knox said, pouring himself a cup of coffee. “You can ask her yourself.”

“I’m asking you.”

He sighed. “I took care of her, Leah.” Knox leaned against the opposite side of the counter, facing me.

“Good.” Leah nodded approvingly. “Because I know how you are.”

Knox shook his head. “Your friend is stubborn as hell, by the way.”

“I heard that,” I muttered.

“I wasn’t trying to be quiet.”

Leah laughed. “See? I knew you two would bicker.”

My smile faded when Knox’s eyes found mine again.

For a second, neither of us moved. The air between us thickened with something unspoken. Then his gaze swept off me, deliberate and slow, his jaw tightening before he turned back to his sister. She seemed oblivious to the charged moment that passes between us.

“Anyway, Dad still hasn’t sent my allowance.”

Knox looked away. “And?”

“Knox.” She gave him an exaggerated pout. “Just add something to my account please…..”

“No.”

“You’re a terrible brother.”

He looked at her over the rim of his cup. “You’re dramatic.” A reluctant smile tugged at my lips. They were always like this.

Leah grabbed my bag from the couch. “Okay, bye evil brother. I’m taking Paige home.”

“Wait.” She suddenly stopped. “I need to use the bathroom.” Before I could respond, she disappeared back upstairs.

It took me a second to realize I was alone with him. The silence between us stretched — hot and thick. Neither of us said anything to address the elephant in the room.

“About this morning….” I began breaking the silence, though my voice wavered slightly. His gaze sharpened instantly.

“Forget about it” he said flatly, dropping the coffee down. Anger flared within me mixed with a pang of something fragile. I felt guilty for what happened but his dismissal stung.

“Stop being a dickhead, your dick isn't memorable at all.” I snapped rolling my eyes. I hated him.

“I just wanted to say… I don't… I don't think its a good idea for..”

“She shouldn't know” he interrupted, His voice very cold. He took a step towards me.

Relief loosened something in my chest.

“Although,” he added, “you panicking like this is extremely entertaining.”

I rolled my eyes. “You’re such an ass.”

“I’ve been called worse.”

Footsteps sounded from upstairs.

I immediately straightened.

Leah appeared at the top of the stairs, already rushing toward us.

“Okay, I’m ready. Let’s go.”

I grabbed my bag before she could notice how tense I was.

“Let’s go.”

I could feel Knox's eyes on me all the way to the door.

  • The Hockey Player who Hates me    Chapter 26- I just wanted to save you

Paige's POVMy heart somersaults so hard it’s embarrassing. I’ve spent the whole day forcing myself not to think about this guy, and now here he is in the flesh, his hands wrapped around my waist. For one stupid second, I wanted to melt into him. Feel his solid body on my skin, I couldn't forget how badly he had brought me to climax the other day. I caught myself and stiffened.I turned my head, glaring at him.“What the fuck are you doing?” I whispered, his glistening lips just inches away from mine, my thighs clenched. He barely looked at me. His mouth brushed close to my ear. Goosebumps ran all over me. “Just play along.” I frowned. “I’m saving you.”Before I could respond, he looked at Jimmy. Shaking his hand. “Thanks for keeping my girlfriend company.”Jimmy’s eyes widened.“Wait. You’re Knox Tatum?”Knox gave him a brief nod.“Yeah, that's me.” I rolled my eyes, such a show-off. “Damn. I’m a huge fan, man.”“Appreciate it.”Jimmy looked between us, suddenly looking a littl

  • The Hockey Player who Hates me    Chapter 25- Moving on

Paige's POV I stared at the screen.No.There was absolutely no way in hell that, out of all the sports departments, I had been assigned to the hockey team. And worst of all—Knox fucking Tatum. But there it was.Staring right back at me.Absolutely not.I was not going to spend the rest of this semester babying Knox or helping the hockey team- and Mike was there too. And after what happened between Knox and me? There was no way I could spend that much time around him and pretend nothing had happened.I needed distance from Knox.First thing Monday morning, I would speak to Professor Jules and ask if there was any way I could be assigned to another sports team. She wasn’t exactly the kind of professor you could walk into her office and expect to hear, Of course, Paige. Let’s find you something else. She’d probably tell me to suck it up and do my job.But there was no way I could spend the rest of the semester around both of them and pretend nothing had happened.I closed my laptop and

Paige's POVI could usually hold my own in most situations. I’d never suffered from anxiety, and very little scared me—not even growing up with an alcoholic mother who seemed to love alcohol more than she loved me.But Professor Jules? She scares me. And, somehow, she also had my complete respect.I had slept past my alarm this morning. Normally, the bus ride to campus took thirty minutes. Today, thanks to the roads being an absolute nightmare, it took nearly an hour and a half.By the time the bus finally found a parking spot, I was already fifteen minutes late.Another five minutes passed before I made it across campus and stopped outside Professor Jules’s office, my nerves wound tighter than piano wire.I knocked once before pushing the door open.“Hi, ma’am. I’m so sorry I’m late,” Professor Jules glanced up from her desk.“It's ok Paige, Sit down” she smiled sweetly, pointing to the chair across from her, “I’m so glad you arrived in one piece, the roads were a nightmare today.”I

  • The Hockey Player who Hates me    Chapter 23- Cant Forget about her

Knox's POVI’d had enough experience to know there were different kinds of sex.Sweet. Rough. Reckless.I thought I knew what I liked. I thought I knew how to separate sex from emotion. Then there was Paige. And somehow, one night with her had managed to fuck up every rule I’d ever made for myself.Paige's Image kept running in a loop in my mind. Her flushed cheeks and trembling body, her screaming my name as she came all over my cock. I adjusted my pants discreetly. Paige and I hadn’t seen each other since that morning, but days later, I still couldn’t seem to shake the need for her.“Earth to Knox” Leah snapped her fingers in front of my face. “You there? Or are you already back in the States?” she teased.I forced myself back into the present. It was one of the rare days I wasn't swamped with hockey and she wasn't with her music, so we’d scheduled a catch-up over lunch.“Yeah.” I sipped my coffee“So you’re really not giving me your card?”I looked up from my coffee. Leah was star

  • The Hockey Player who Hates me    Chapter 21- Good girl

Paige's POVFor one suspended heartbeat, I forgot how to breathe.Knox curled his hand around the back of my neck, holding me captive while he plundered my mouth. His lips are hard, rough, and demanding. He doesn't ease in. He devours. He kissed the way we fought. Hard. Explosive.I regained control of my limbs and raised my hands to push him away, but to my surprise, I fisted his hair instead. I kissed him back with the same desperation. I hate that I want him so badly. It had never felt like this with Mike.“Say you want me to stop, and I'll stop.” His whisper ghosted over my lips, its softness a sharp contrast to the force with which he tugged on my hair.“I want—” “What was that Midget?” he murmured. “Fuck you” I hissed. He grins.“I already know what you want, Midget.” He closed his teeth around my bottom lip and tugged hard enough to send another twin frisson of pain and pleasure spiraling through my body. “No need to beg for it.”I finally shoved him off me, “I will never be
