Chapter 5: Memories

*Roharu*

The restaurant was ready for us and I was immediately recognized as we arrived. I could hear their thoughts, and it makes me a bit angry to listen to all of these fanatics who want to be a part of our pack. The only honest mind and soul is the waiter, who keeps a clean head while he greets us and leads us to our table.

He gives the menu to her while I mentally order my dish. -'Two steaks medium-rare and a Johnny. She will order Coke, bring it with some thin slices of lemon,'- I grin as I watch her order.

She seems not able to decide, and the waiter asks my permission to give a suggestion. I nod at him.

"I recommend you to try today's special," he suggests and she lifts her eyes from the menu to look at him.

She agrees to his suggestion, and I mentally chuckle at her forgetfulness; she can never remember to order lemon, even though she loves to have it in her drink.

The waiter leaves with our order, and I smirk as she sees her coke with lemon sometime after. Of course, I remembered.

We have a very relaxed time as we eat and make small talk, all the while I keep looking at her eyes and lips. Why am I looking at her so much? She changed a bit; not much, minor things, but she has become more of what she already was. The cutie human that was my pet. A pet I want to play with again soon.

I thought everything was going well until she started to say goodbye. This bothers me; does seeing me after all these years mean nothing to her? Why does she want to get away? She used to want to be with me until the last possible seconds each day. She has changed.

"Well, I have other things to do," she says, but I don't believe her. Why would she lie?

"I did say I wanted to go to a place and have you accompany me there," I say to her as I catch her eyes.

She takes her time to think about it. Now I am really curious about what is going on in her mind. I wish I could read her thoughts. I die for the chance to read them. It's like she knows the wait is killing me, but she finally agrees. "Then let us go."

"Where are we going?" she asks, her curiosity rising.

I rest my hand on her back and gently push her to keep going. "We are going home…"

She goes silent, and I keep quiet as well. I lead her to the car and let Xavier go in front of us in another car. We start driving and I lose myself in thought.

I need to do this well; I have to tell her why I came for her. I want her to be willing to help me, and fulfill her promise to me back then. Taking her there is the perfect set.

-'Send two teams before us, I want them to scan the area,'- I send to my Beta and I make sure we are covered on every angle. I don't want to put her in any danger.

-'Everything is clear on the second road, the first one seems too crowded,'- he sends back to me.

I think about it for a few seconds. -'Let's take that one then.'-

He knows I am not messing around and I sense him sending another extra team just in case. I turn around and see Sienna is looking at the window. She looks the same, I think. Of course, she has changed in some aspects, but she is still the sweet Enna, the cutie I fell hard for when I was younger.

"A penny for your thoughts," I say and she instantly turns to look at me. Her giggle is as sweet as I remembered.

"I am just waiting for you to finish your busy calls and mind calls," she says as a matter of fact.

I laugh a bit and then look at the front of the car, and see that Xavier is already there. -'Double checking, but it is all clear.'-

"Seems we will arrive at our destination in a few minutes," I let her know and she looks towards the front as well.

It takes her only a minute or two more, but she widens her eyes and starts breathing faster. I might not read her mind, yet, but I can still sense all her body alterations. She remains quiet as we pass through the gates and ride the last part of the road before we get to the old manor.

Xavier is already waiting for us at the entrance. He is the one who opens the door for me and I step out of the car. I turn my head and extend my hand for her, but she is hesitant to take it.

"What are you afraid of?" I ask, almost amused.

She seems a bit annoyed by my question and walks out of the car refusing to take my hand. I can't help but laugh again.

She takes a look around us and I look at the main doors that are now wide open. It has been 10 years since I stepped into this place, and now it is my heart that is racing.

Some seconds pass until I notice she is standing right at the entrance. She looks at me and giggles. "What are you afraid of?"

Oh, if only she knew.

*Sienna*

I know I was afraid to come back to this place, but mostly it was because of the memories it would bring. About the good old days, about our small group of friends, about Ro.

Now I shake those thoughts away, as they pale in comparison to what he must be feeling. The house seems in a decent state, but the smell of old wood and no airflow makes for a bit of a dense environment. He has been quiet ever since we walked in; we just roamed around, looking and not talking, visiting the rooms, and every step we make, his people follow closely. This one guy, in particular, is always looking at me strangely, and I feel like he is about to jump behind me and do something. Silly, I know, but I can't seem to shake that feeling off of me.

We smile at each other as we reach the old balcony, where many crazy conversations were held, and fantastically creative schemes were made to conquer new corners of the manor, to trap one of the servers, to trick the housekeeper, etc. We were young and we only thought of having as much fun as we could.

Many things happened here, not only our… kiss. And remembering it all, made me have so many questions. I still don't know the purpose of Ro's visit to the country, or me, but I vow to myself that I will find out.

"Last time we were here, we made plans for a weekend, do you remember?" He asks.

I smile and nod. "The twins were going to be away on a trip, Cassie wanted to come over and organize some Summer activities. I think Brandom and Francis wanted to do something else, but I don't remember if they were just indecisive or if they already had other plans…"

He walks to the edge and nods. "Yes, those were the plans we spoke about, but I believe much more happened without us realizing…" He says and turns around to face me.

"Much more? What do you mean?" I ask, genuinely intrigued.

He nods and takes a few steps until he reaches me. "Those plans held some part in the conspiracy made to kill my father…"
