Author's POV

The man standing before her was no other person than Lucien Drazik. The Alpha of the Bloodmoon Pack and one of the major shareholders of the Academy. His eyes were staring straight at her, not with guilt, but something more dangerous—confusion.

No..... He doesn't believe the way his wolf, Mark, was whimpering in recognition beneath him. He doesn't understand why his nose becomes super sensitive and he could smell her so much. She smelled like peach blossoms. It was everything good and Mark howled inside him, excited and restless.

'Mate. Mate,' Mark howled again, the word echoing in his mind.

But.... How could this be? What the hell just happened? ........why a human? Why would a human be his mate? Again?

He blinked slowly, his nostrils flaring in irritation as if she wasn't even human. As if she was some house roach that he'd want to trample under his feet.

“You’re human…” he murmured, barely audible. “But why does it smell like fate?”

Teya stared, frozen. Fate? What was he talking about? She was still dumbstruck by his beauty but that doesn't mean he should be speaking gibberish instead of apologising for making her fall on her butt.

Lucien too was captivated by her mesmerising silver eyes, her skin was flawless with high cheekbones that framed her delicate , heart shaped face. She was truly beautiful.....but that beauty disgusted him more than anything else. Humans. They are weak. Disposable. He hated them. All of them.

He had come to the store to get some essentials but he had just lost the zeal to carry on.

Without another word, he turned back and walked away—no apology, no explanation. He just left her there, breathless and surrounded by scattered apples and instant noodles.

Teya watched his retreating back from the glass door until he disappeared from her sight.  Only then did she exhale In relief.

What the hell just happened? And what was that strange, undeniable pull that she felt?

It felt like she had known him all her life, yet she was sure she had never seen him before.  He felt familiar. Awakening something..... Something different inside her.

She gathered her things and quickly made her way to the dorm.

Back in the dorm, Teya recounted the incident to her new roommates. Tessa let out a low whistle.

“That sounds like Lucien Drazik,” she said. “He’s… the Alpha."

Lena frowned. “Alpha of the Bloodmoon Dominion pack. Thank goodness, you didn't cause any trouble. Make sure to avoid him," she warned.

Teya nodded slowly.

Then Lena continued. "Many of the elite werewolf students hate the transfer and scholarship students, especially the humans."

Teya's heart skipped a beat. Hated the humans? Hated the scholarship students? Was that why they bullied her sister until she killed herself?

As much as she wanted to bring up the topic about a student who committed suicide last two years, she couldn't. Bringing it up would be too forward and that would only spring up suspicions.

First she needed to gain her ground, find out if there was any act of bullying or not. Then get in touch with Reya's room mates and then her diary. She never found it inside her belongings that the school handed over and she thought that was strange.

Teya knew how Reya loved to document things, even the simplest one. If she was being bullied in the academy, then she must have written it down in her diary. And not finding the diary would only mean one thing.

Someone took it on purpose.

...... Why?

Maybe to cover up for their crimes.

Teya brushed the thoughts away with the determination to unravel everything bit by bit.

But that strange pull in her chest refused to fade. She kept seeing those blue eyes. Kept hearing that cold, condescending voice.

If he was the Alpha and was powerful like her roommate had said, maybe he would know something. But from the way he had snapped at her earlier, he doesn't seem exactly like someone she could ever approach.

She heaved in frustration, her thoughts tangling but one thing was certain. She would figure everything out.

_______

That night, she had a dream, which was both confusing and so frightening that she could barely breathe.

She was standing in a forest under a blood-red moon. A silver wolf stood beside her, huge and majestic, its glowing amber eyes fixed on the darkness beyond the trees. Shadows circled them, whispering words she couldn’t understand.

Then the wolf turned to her, growling words that shook the sky: “Find them… or be consumed.”

When she snapped her eyes open, her breathing was laboured and her forehead drenched with sweat.

She jolted upright on her bed. What the hell is happening? What..... does that dream even mean? A silver wolf?  Find them? Who....?

She couldn't sleep all through the night. Her brain mentally figuring out everything that's happened in less than twenty-four hours she's got here. She couldn't help but wonder that there was truly something...... Something strange about this Academy.

Then her mind drifted back to her mother's words. And she could only hope that the Academy doesn't swallow her like they did to her sister.

______

The next morning, Teya walked into the lecture hall for her first class with her books clutched to her chest, her nerves on edge. She wasn't afraid. No. She just wasn't used to the way the room had quieted and then the stares of judgement, curiosity and disdain the other students who were werewolves and few humans threw her way.

Whispers buzzed around her.

"She's human....."

“…a transfer student…”

“Why’s she even here?”

Teya ignored them, forcing her chin up and her movements steady as she moved through the rows and settled by the empty chair near the back.

“Hey, transfer student,” a sharp voice called, and she turned slowly. A tall brunette with glowing golden eyes smirked down at her from the row ahead. “Do you even know how to cast a basic protection spell?”

Teya opened her mouth to respond, but the hall door creaked open, and silence fell instantly.

Professor Kael, a professor in literature, walked in with his tablet and teaching device in his hands.

Dressed in a tailored tuxedo suit and dark slacks, his presence commanded attention. His hair was silver—not old, but ethereal and his sharp features held a sort of timeless beauty. His steps were calculated, his aura commanding, but what stunned Teya most were his eyes. Stormy gray pair. They locked onto her own silver eyes the moment he entered.

Professor Kael was in his early thirties but he doesn't look like it. He looked like a teenager.

She gasped softly. That strange pull returned. It was like a string tying her to him, tugging from deep within her soul.

Kael’s eyes narrowed slightly as if he were... surprised? Then I was intrigued.

Without a word, he turned toward the board, projecting the lesson for the day on it.  He began the lesson, his voice echoing through the room.

But Teya couldn't pay attention. Her pulse thundered in her ears. Her whole body was alert with an awareness that made no sense. That shouldn't be happening.

What is this?

She tried to look away. But she couldn't. His eyes were piercing. His voice was like unending music.

Kael too wasn't left out. It was due to his several years of teaching experience that made him not to stutter and floop the lectures.

He couldn't deny the pull too. The way his wolf howled in recognition, her peach blossoms scent that filled his nose was so delicious, so satisfying and so tempting.

He moved through the rows, talking casually about literature theory, but every step he took brought him closer—until he was right beside her.

She stiffened, her heart racing louder than his voice.

Then, to her shock, Kael paused, bent slightly to her level, his mouth near her ear.

His voice was soft but deliberate. “I know who you are, mate.”

Lucien’s POVThe courtyard was quiet. For once, the academy breathed in silence, the chaos of the day held at bay by golden shafts of sunlight filtering through the treetops. I sat on the worn bench under the east arch, half-tilted toward the sun, a book open in my lap though I wasn’t really reading it. My fingers traced the weathered edge of the page as my mind wandered,.drifting into memories I wasn’t sure I wanted to examine too closely.Teya’s laugh echoed here once. That small, surprised giggle she let slip when I dropped a stack of scrolls because she startled me, how her eyes lit up when she teased me for being too serious. Those tiny moments had lodged themselves somewhere deep inside me, like hooks I hadn’t known I’d swallowed. But I should’ve known peace wouldn’t last long.It hit me all at once, like a pressure drop in the air, a sudden crackle across my skin that made my wolf stir inside me.She’s coming. The hair on the back of my neck stood upright as the scent hit nex

TEYA'S POVYou know how sometimes, life throws you a curveball, and you can't even remember how you got into the mess you're in? Yeah, that was me right then. I couldn’t recall how I had left the studio, but the chaos inside me was unmistakable. My heart was pounding like a drum stuck on fast-forward, that tightness in my throat felt like a boulder lodged there, and the air around me? It was thick and heavy, as if I were trying to breathe underwater. One moment, I stood there, completely frozen, processing the craziness swirling in my head, and the next, I was bolting down the hallway. I sprinted past the mirrors, all those reflections reminding me of the absurdity of what was happening, while the sound of my own footsteps echoed back, taunting me like some cruel joke. It was like my body was on autopilot, but my brain? Oh man, my brain was going into overdrive.**Lucien. Reya. Lucien.** Each name rang out in my head like church bells, loud and clanging, drowning out any sense of cal

  • The Human mate: Marked for vengeance.    Chapter 67

Teya’s POVThe silver wolf’s words—“You’ll know soon enough” kept playing over and over in my head like a song I didn’t ask for. I’d jolted awake with my heart trying to hammer its way out of my chest, the sheets twisted around my legs, damp with sweat. The room felt wrong. Off. Too quiet, too still. Like the world had paused, just slightly, waiting for something to catch up. Like I was looking at my life from the outside.I sat up, blinking, trying to hold onto the dream, but it was slipping through my fingers like water. Still, those words stuck. They weren’t just part of the dream. They felt… planted. Heavy. Important. The kind of thing that doesn’t just fade with daylight. And then Reya’s name clawed back into my thoughts, followed by the whispers from the day before. Her and “that guy.” Whoever the hell that was. It sounded stupid on the surface, just gossip, just idle talk. But it hadn’t felt idle. It had felt sharp. Like something underneath it mattered. Like the dream and t

  • The Human mate: Marked for vengeance.    Chapter 66

Teya’s POVI never really noticed when we fell into this unusual rhythm—this almost unspoken connection that had developed between Lucien and me. It wasn’t something we sat down and mapped out over coffee or talked about in-depth during our breaks. It just sort of evolved, like plants finding their way toward the sunlight, without any intentional planning on our part. Every time I showed up at the studio, it was like he had a sixth sense about it. I mean, how did he always seem to know? It was kind of impressive, really. And of course, I never hesitated to let him in. There was something comforting about the way he stepped into the space; it felt like I was inviting in a slice of calm amidst a whirlwind of thoughts and insecurities. At first, those towering mirrors felt menacing, reflecting not just my physical form but also my doubts, amplifying everything I feared. The silence in the room could be deafening, almost mocking, echoing my every misstep. But over time, something shifted

Teya’s POVI didn’t know what was happening anymore. One minute I was bracing for the fall—again—and the next, Lucien was standing between me and the edge like it was the most natural thing in the world. Like this wasn’t all backwards and twisted and humiliating as hell.I could still feel his eyes on me as I walked out, even though I never looked back. I couldn’t.If I did, I’d shatter into tiny, bloody, embarrassing pieces right there on the damn floor.I didn’t get far before the door creaked open again behind me.I tensed.Footsteps.Lucien’s voice, lower now. Softer. “Sorry.”I blinked. He caught up beside me, walking just a bit behind like he wasn’t sure he was allowed to be next to me anymore.“I shouldn’t have barged in like that. It was reckless.”Then he stopped, stepping slightly aside and dipping his head.I frowned. “What are you—?”But then I heard it.Boots. Not school-issued. Not military. Something heavier. Calmer.Like they didn’t need to rush because the ground move

TEYA'S POVWhen morning rolled around, it was as if the entire world had just... hit pause. No whispers floated through the air. No curious stares bored into my skin. Nothing.Silence.An eerie silence.I stood there in the middle of the hallway, frozen like a deer caught in headlights, feeling like a total idiot. I was just waiting. Waiting for someone—anyone—to barrel into me as if by accident, or shoot me that glance, you know, the kind that felt like it could burn a hole right through you. I half-expected someone to hurl a cruel remark loud enough for everyone to hear, to remind me that I was still in their line of fire. But it never happened. There were no hostile looks, no whispered insults, not even a single phone aimed in my direction. It was like I was wrapped in this invisible cloak again. And oh man—who would have thought I’d actually miss being invisible? At first, I figured it had to be some kind of trick. Maybe they’d moved the whole circus online, laughing behind their
