Chapter 27

NOVA’S POV

I could feel the wind in my fur and see the warm rays on sunlight reflecting off the leaves. Beside me was my mother’s wolf running with me. I had always wanted to do this with my Mom since I was child. She always looked so completely free when she ran.

Too bad we could never do this. But that doesn’t make sense. We were running together now so why would a thought like that pop into my head?

That’s when the forest seemed to darken almost immediately. The forest that was once beautiful and inviting had now become eerie.

The leaves had disappeared from the trees. The ground was free of any sign on life. There wasn’t even a single hint that any animals would be around. The sky was the colour of blood, the sun that had previously brought a sense of security was now replaced with a moon of redder even than the sky that only seemed to make me feel uneasy.
