16: Janice

 The once roar of her internal flame was now a mere flicker of candlelight. There was a buzzing in her ears as voices collided when her concentration dropped. Her head felt light as a dizzy spell took hold of her and she placed her head in her hands. When something dripped into her palms, her eyes fluttered open to see blood droplets pooling in her palms.

 "Janice?" A soft voice drew her attention up to Lymeria who had knelt down before her. Worry flickered in her emerald eyes as her nose wrinkled slightly, "What do you need?"

 She looked up finally and took in her surroundings as the buzzing in her ears slowly died down. Aiden had his arms wrapped around Amira, sweat on his brow as he attempted to catch his breath. Amira had clung to him, her fingers gripped his shirt so tight the fabric might tear. Jax took his place at Amira's side, conflicting emotions rampaged in his eyes while Leyla sat on the coffee table in front of them and rested a hand on Am
