I let out a breath of relief as we got further from André. Yes, I know that probably sounds like a shitty thing. And maybe it is.

But when you are in my situation, where your senses are overloaded by a scent, you can’t give enough, but your brain is too confused to know what to do, then you can say anything.

I know Cardinal wanted to stay by André’s side, but I need space. I need to clear my head. I obviously can’t think straight when I’m around that man. And I can’t sort anything out that way. I need quiet reflection.
