Chapter 45 - The Intruder In Gerthel's Room

Gerthel’s fear grew further the next day, and all she could think of is to escape again. The moon is soon to be in its full shape, which she does not want to happen while she is still in the castle. If it happens, she knew that it might be her last day on earth.

She waited for the whole afternoon for Melda to visit her room. She was in dire need to speak to her. However, the whole afternoon passed but even a shadow of Melda did not show up. It was another maid who brought her food during lunchtime, and even her snacks in the afternoon.

“What happened to her?” she thought getting frantic. “Were the guards found out that she was the one who helped me to escape last night?” she thought feeling worried and guilty at the same time. Whatever happened to Melda, it will be her fault. “Poor woman, I hope you are just fine,” she whispered further with prayers in her heart.
