Chapter 53 - First Mate

Gerthel could sense that a pair of eyes have been watching her. Slowly and simply, she looked around trying to decipher who amongst the people inside the restaurant have been watching her from a distance. All of a sudden her eyes were focused on a man who was sitting five tables away from them. She furrowed, thinking where she saw the man and then her heart faltered.

“First mate,” it was Thella, her wolf, who whispered to Gerthel.

“First mate?”

“What?” Boss Dar asked furrowing.

Gerthel did not notice that she was able to say the word ‘First mate’, aloud.

She froze while like at Boss Dar then her eyes traveled to the spot where the man awhile ago was sitting. He was still there looking at her with such fire and intensity.
