Those red eyes

Kiara's POV

Before I knew it we were pulling into the student parking lot at Paramore High school. Instantly I spotted Kelsey and her goons at the back of the parking lot sitting on Taylor’s truck laughing hysterically, probably just making fun of people that were walking by. All of those fools passed their time making fun of who ever they felt like whenever they felt like. Luckily we found a spot on the opposite side of where they were so I might just get to have a good day. I put my new phone on silent and stuck in by book bag. I looked at Ketzia as she put the car in park and she turned it off. She returned my look and we both smiled at each other “ Alright girly let’s go fuck today up”. “YES let’s do it, nothing will bring my mood down today!” . As I was getting out the car I glanced over to see where Kelsey and her goons were but I only saw Taylor standing there with Jack and Jeff was approaching them. I didn’t spot Kelsey and her goons until it was too late and they were already approaching the side of the car I was getting out of from the front end. Kelsey, Ashley, and Raven came to a stop and looked me up and down with disgust and a glint of hatred coming from their eyes. Usually I would try to avoid these girls like the plague as they tend to play dirty. Like stealing my clothes from the girls locker room while I showered, that was definitely an eventful day. They even managed to put a big gumball in my long hair once. Today was not the day, today was my day and no dumb batch was going to ruin it. I looked back at them with disdain and mustered up all my courage, “what the hell do you 3 bitches want? I’m in no mood for your childish antics so if you don’t mind taking your stench back to where it came from it would definitely be appreciated, tthhhaannkkk youuuu byyyeeee”. All 3 girls jaws dropped at the audacity of my words. I was always one to turn the other cheek and ignore what these girls would say, but something was different in me. I can’t put my finger on it but its like my fear of the normal high school bs disappeared when I got up today. I felt more confidence than I’ve ever had, and I was not about to let these 3 ruin it either. Today was the day I take a stance and fight back. I looked over at Ketzia as she had started to laugh hysterically at what I said to the girls. “ You might want to close you’re mouth before you catch some flies" Ketzia managed to say between her cackles. In that instant all 3 closed their mouths and turned bright red. Kelsey opened her mouth to say something in return but before she could I pushed threw all 3 of them and Ketzia followed me to our first class. “ It’s about damn time you stood up to those 3 beaches Kiara, that was so awesome. I don’t know what’s gotten into you but I fucking love it girly.” Ketzia reached for me and held my arm as she expressed how proud of me she was. To be honest I was too, I shocked myself and I am definitely loving my new confidence. When we got to our lockers Ketzia was going on about the upcoming dance. I open my locker and confetti and streamers pop out with a big card saying Happy Birthday. I looked at Ketzia and she put her hands in the air shaking her head saying “it wasn’t me I swear". “It was me" a deep voice from behind me said. I didn’t even need to turn, I already new who it was. “Jeff eerr uummm thank you I guess, how did you know it was my birthday?” I honestly did not remember ever mentioning it. He shrugged his shoulders “ I assist in the office sometimes on my free period, so I may or may not have taken a peak at some student records, sshhh don’t tell anyone" he answered as low as he could. I smiled at him and shook my head. Jeff was pretty handsome, he was the most popular senior boy and was 17. He stood at a solid 5’9, dirty blonde hair that was short on the sides and longer at the top. He had deep blue eyes that any girl would get lost in. He was very muscular for his age, with a chiseled chest and a strong jaw to match. His muscles always popped out in anything he wore. I was looking at Jeff as he was saying something about the upcoming dance but something caught my eye behind Jeff. There was a dark figure down the hall unmoving as crowds of kids passed by it. Nobody else seemed to notice but me. I kept staring at the dark figure as it head snapped up and came eye to eye with me. Those glowing red eyes met mine and my breathing started to go crazy. It felt like the walls were closing in on me and all I could see were those eyes looking back at me. As I started to lose more and more control of my breathing he smiled at me with the most devious smile I had ever seen. At that point my breathing was uncontrollable, I felt waves of intense pains I’ve never felt before. My heart was on fire and I felt like I was dieing. “KIARA, KIARA WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING? I could hear Jeff and Ketzia screaming at me and each other but it felt like it was so far away. I wanted to scream  out to them and tell them their was a monster behind them, but I was frozen in place. My body defying everything my brain was telling it. Something in me told me to fight, fight to stay awake, fight to save my clueless friends of whatever that figure was. Suddenly the figure looked shocked and instantly disappeared. That’s when I heard it, dead silence in what was once a busy hallway with teenagers trying to get to class. Everyone was frozen in place eyes wide open, shocked and confused of what was happening in front of their faces.
