Chapter 4
The Pack House
I shake my head in disbelief and make my way toward the pack house, an exquisite Victorian-style structure crafted from majestic stone bricks, towering six stories above the ground. As we step through the grand entrance, we are greeted by the gleaming marble quartz floors that stretch throughout the foyer, reflecting the soft glow of the elegant chandeliers above. The rustic wooden banisters, artfully carved, lead us up the sweeping staircase that beckons to the upper floors.
The overall design of the house blends traditional Victorian aesthetics with modern touches, showcasing intricate moldings and high ceilings adorned with tasteful crown details. On the left side of the main floor, a stunning wooden staircase spirals to the second story, while to the right, a long, inviting hallway unfolds before us.
As we wander down the corridor, we start exploring each door. The first one reveals a spacious bathroom, cleverly designed to split into separate male and female sides, both luxurious and practical. Continuing along, the next door on the left opens to an entertainment room—an expansive space that boasts a vibrant gaming area filled with the latest consoles and a cozy movie theater nook outfitted with plush seating and a large screen. Adjacent to this, another smaller bathroom offers convenience for guests.
My friends dash off, eager to explore their own adventures, while my mother, father, and I press onward. We discover well-organized closets and soon find ourselves in a magnificent kitchen that epitomizes modern elegance. The kitchen showcases sumptuous granite and marble countertops that complement rich oak cabinetry, and the latest state-of-the-art appliances gleam under the soft glow of stylish fixtures—creating an atmosphere that is both functional and inviting.
My dad exchanges glances with my mother and me, announcing his intention to venture upstairs in search of the Alpha's office. He instructs us to find him when we're finished exploring. My mother and I continue our tour, delighting in the exquisite details that each floor offers.
On the second floor, we find two distinct offices, tastefully designed for functionality and comfort, alongside a spacious conference room adorned with contemporary artwork. A "war room," designed for strategic planning, lies adjacent, equipped with maps and high-tech resources.
The third floor surprises us with a collection of twenty guest quarters, eight of which are reserved for visiting Alphas and council members. Each room is a sanctuary, complete with en suites, walk-in closets, and bathrooms, along with additional interconnected rooms designed for families or small groups. A communal bathroom and a cozy library add to the floor's appeal.
As we ascend to the fourth floor, we arrive at the quarters designated for unmated individuals and warriors. Here, two communal bathrooms—one male and one female—provide ample accommodation, fostering a sense of community among residents.
The fifth floor is divided into the Gamma and Beta wings, each boasting full ensuite bathrooms, emphasizing comfort and privacy for their occupants.
Finally, we reach the sixth floor, exclusive to the Alpha. This private haven features a meticulously designed office, a serene sleeping area, a dedicated private library filled with tomes and literature, and a security room equipped with access to CCTV monitors and a panic room for emergencies.
Behind the pack house lies an impressive training facility, complete with a gym and an exercise pool—both three stories tall. The expansive training fields cater to shifted form training, while the combat ring, reminiscent of a coliseum, serves as a venue for events and advancement ceremonies, complete with bleachers for spectators.
To the right of the pack house, family dwellings create a close-knit community, showcasing about 50 to 100 full-sized homes nestled amid lush woodlands. A well-maintained road leads from this charming town to the pack house, lined with six quaint buildings: a diner, a bookstore, a bar, a general store, two clothing shops—one for kids and one for adults—and a mechanic shop. Other highlights include a hardware store, a cafe, a furniture store, and two vacant storefronts awaiting new possibilities.
Further behind the pack house, the forest opens up to breathtaking mountainous terrain, where snowy peaks cradle shimmering waterfalls and serene lakes, reminiscent of the idyllic landscapes found in the Rio Grande National Forest. This harmonious fusion of nature and community offers a sanctuary unlike any other, all within the embrace of the pack's rich traditions.
Part 9The next morning I woke up at seven am, took Alma for a potty walk and started making her breakfast. When I got back from walking Alma again, after she ate, I went and took a shower, got dressed in one of the outfits that Matt picked out, and Tara and I headed down to the dining hall with Braylen, Jaylyn, and Waylynn. We sat at the table that we sat at last night, and the server came over and dropped off a carafe of coffee, a bowl of sugar packets and creamer, a carafe of orange juice and apple juice, and took our breakfast orders. We all talked while eating when our food came out, then walked to our first class, which was ‘Battle Strategies’.Our second class two hours later was Alpha Duties that lasted three hours, then we headed back to the dining hall for lunch. After lunch there was another two hour long class called ‘Business 101’. Our final class of the day was called, ‘History of the Royals’. lasting an hour.Tomorrow’s classes will be different from today's classes. Ho
Part 8Tara and I choose a table and the servers come out to take our drink orders. While waiting for our drinks to arrive, three males in three different shades of pink shirts, come up to us and ask if they can join. We say yes, and they join our table. They introduce themselves to us as Braylen, Jaylyn, and Waylynn, and tell us that they are triplets, and have a baby sister named Lynn, but she won’t be coming here until next year. They also tell us that they are Wolf/Lynx shifters from a pack in Northeastern New Mexico. They tell us that they are gay, and that we seem like people who won’t care about that. We both say we don’t, and would love to get to know them better as well.Tara and I find out that they are actually on our floor about five doors down, and that they have the same classes with us, that the school will put the more feminine males with the females so they aren’t bullied for being gay. This school has a Zero Tolerance for bullying and other students were expelled fo
Part 7I woke up Sunday morning, the day before classes start, and Tara is in the kitchen making breakfast. We ate breakfast, took Alma for a potty walk, and walked around campus with Alma as other Alpha’s were starting to show up. Tara pointed out a few guys that she thought looked sexy enough to play with, for which I stared at her in shock. “You can’t hook up with them, what about your mate?” I asked Tara. Tara then said, “In my thirty different lives, I’ve only had a mate about eighteen times. Phoenix’s are different, we can have multiple mates or none, and if we get a mate that lifetime we don’t meet them until we turn forty. I saved myself the past few times according to my parents and they were ruthless, because I was a virgin. So this time I’m going to play, fuck waiting for a mate this time. I took my own virginity at the age of sixteen, I popped my own cherry and then hooked up a week later with a seventeen year old human.”I stared at Tara, with my jaw dropped, then asked,
Part 6The reason I took the one with the personal balcony is because of Alma, she does sometimes need a potty break in the middle of the night, and putting some potty pads out there would help with not having to wake the security team just to walk her. Oh and before I forget in the living room there is another balcony that is a lot bigger than the one in my room, like three times the size, mine can only fit one chair, a small table and a few potty pads in the corner, while as the one that is off the living room, can hold six chairs with small tables between every two chairs and still have enough room to walk around. The balconies have a bulletproof half glass wall so we can still see out and get some breeze, but won’t have papers blowing around if sitting lower than the wall. The paint color in the mini apartment, that’s what I’m going to call it instead of a dorm room, is a pale bluish white, with a dark green trim. It has that red wood type of flooring in every room except for the
Part 5When we left Manitou Springs it was about eleven-thirty am, and we still had roughly another hour of driving to get to our final fuel stop where I would completely fill up my truck. Yeah that hour turned into two hours, there is a lot of freaking traffic throughout the day in these cities, so many people and cars on every street and roadway. I think we were stuck behind an accident at one point, I swear people don’t pay attention to who they cut off, Brantley one of the warriors in my truck, found out that it was a car that cut off a semi truck hauling a big machine to make their exit, and that the semi couldn’t stop in time and smashed into them, pushing the car into the guardrail on the exit. It makes sense now, why we were stuck sitting for an hour. They had to tow the car and get all the info from both parties. When we finally got to the city of Cripple Creek CO, we found out that it was an old mining camp, they had lots of casinos and tours for going up into the old gold m
Part 4After dinner I head outside for a long flight with Crismon and a long run with Midnight. I tell both of them that tomorrow night we will have to head to bed right after dinner, so we can wake up refreshed and early for the long drive ahead of us the following day. They both agree and ask for a three hour turn each to be let out since we don’t know when they can be released after we get to the school. I of course agree with them, so for the next six hours we fly and run, they take turns and switch back and forth every hour. By the time we get back, it’s about three hours until the sun rises. I write on a piece of printer paper that I got home late from letting the girls out, and that I’ll be up later. When I wake up, I double check I have everything that both Alma and I will need for staying up there, Alma’s crate, food and toys, along with a few bones and her fluffy baby blue bed that rests on my bed. The day I got her, I started crate training her, since I knew she would need
