LOGINJade’s Pinkerton's
I couldn't believe that I had been captured in my own home. Tied up to the back of an ATV and a cloth sack put over my head, I had lost the ball cap my father had given me years back. Feeling defeated, I slumped behind the odd man driving with the only thought of knowing that maybe I'd be taken to the place Monica was taken and be able to see her. Perhaps we could escape together. Feeling my cell phone vibrate in my pocket, I gritted my teeth, wanting to see what notification I could be receiving, but I was shit out of luck with my hands bound behind my back. My thoughts drifted to the smexy guy from the grocery store, and I wondered if he, like me, was tied up from the freaks killing off us humans. I wanted to know what they intended for us and if Monica was right about us being food. “Are you going to eat me,” I questioned the person driving, and he growled for me to remain quiet. Rolling my eyes, I pinched my lips and jerked myself around pissing him off more. My brow furrowed further when we stopped, and his partner, Marcus, said something disturbing. “Using the explosives as a fake meteor shower as a way to disrupt the humans was brilliant. They're too stupid to realize that it wasn't complete destruction and more of an illusion,” the man chuckled. “Shut your trap, Marcus, human beings are weaker than us but not stupid,” the guy named James said firmly, sitting in front of me. “Is the earth alright?” I asked under my coverings. “See what you started,” James hissed through his teeth. “Please just tell me,” I pleaded, and heard a sigh. “Your questions can be answered by Commander Romanov if he chooses to disclose them to you. I'm delivering you to his room,” the man said stiffly, and I was jerked back on the ATV as he continued speeding forward. With my thoughts churning in my head, I was chewing on my bottom lip as I tried to make sense of it all. I hadn't seen all the destruction that supposedly occurred; my town looked like an earthquake had hit, and maybe it had, but it had given an illusion of meteors hitting due to the announced shower on the local news. I wondered about the posts Monica had shown me but realized that anyone could write bullshit on the Internet and shook my head. AI could have created the photos and articles as well. “Deviously cunning,” I mumbled to myself as we skidded to a stop. Getting untied from the ATV, placed to my feet on the ground, and I was jerked forward by the attached rope and almost stumbled. “I'm taking you up flights of stairs, so watch your step,” James asserted. ‘“Sure thing, Mister, I will use my aura to see, dumb ass,” I grumbled as I stepped up the stairs I had run into. Assuming it was a porch, I grew curious about where I was. We had only traveled a relatively short distance, perhaps twenty miles. Hearing a door open, I was pulled inside and bumped into the ass holding my rope. “I'm going to lead you upstairs to the Commander's bedroom, so don't trip,” James asserted, and I shrugged. “I will try my best not to,” I replied sourly and felt the rope pulling me forward. Stepping up the stairs, my nerves were fraying, and I shivered in my worry. Refusing to allow my fears to consume me, I inhaled deeply, smelling the wet dog scent coming from the bag over my head, and thought instantly of that furry beast, the Lycan, and shuddered. Hearing a knock and a man's voice saying, “Come in,” I frowned as I felt hands on my shoulders, moving me into the room. Standing as if on display, I snapped, “This is ridiculous. I am not a piece of room decor!” The bag was yanked off my head, and my eyes narrowed at the man sitting on the edge of the bed. “Ah we meet again,” he said, and I curled my lip angrily. “I knew it! You're a monster,” I spat, causing his sharp jawline to twitch. Getting my arm yanked by James, he whispered harshly, “ That is our head Commander, Nikolai Romonav, you insolent female.” Giving him a stoic glare, I shrugged. “I shot him four times, he's not that much of a badass,” I sassed, hearing gasps from the other one I had shot, called Marcus. Glancing back at Nikolai, I raised my brow, seeing his tan bare tattooed chest and him only wearing a pair of gray sweatpants. “What do you want from me,” I inquired calmly. His eyes reflected red as he spoke sternly. “Jade, you will be my blood slave and do all that I ask of you without reluctance.” Shaking my head, I chuckled, “ Like hell, I will, Buddy.” Seeing his eyes widen I was surprised when he said, “No fucking way. I can't compel you?!” “Was that what you were doing?” I laughed softly at his failure. Seeing Nikolai nod, I felt cold metal getting clasped around my wrists and ankles, along with the ropes getting untied. I thought then that I should have pretended to be meek and go along with his delusional show. At least I could move my arms freely. I exhaled deeply to calm my disgust. Peeking up at the attractive man, I narrowed my eyes at him, telling James to bring in the redhead. Turning my head at the sound of the door opening I gasped at Monica stumbling in. She looked emaciated and had bite marks covering her arms and bare legs “You bastards! What have you done to her!” I reached out for her arm, and when she looked at me, her eyes were glassy and peered right through me. “Come here,” Nikolai asserted and she stepped around me and headed toward the man who was now standing and eyeing me cruelly. Seeing my best friend standing there weak and compliant I shuddered. “Jade, as you can see your acquaintance is under my compulsion and will do anything that I ask. Including allowing me to drink the last remaining blood that flows through her veins. Shall I demonstrate for you?” I glared at him as I watched Monica tilt her neck for him as he brushed her red curly hair out of the way. “What do you want from me,” I asked him as moisture collected in my eyes. Nikolai paused briefly and glanced over at me. “Give me your word that you will obey me. If you don't I will end her life,” he growled assertively, causing gooseflesh to appear on my skin. Weighing my options I nodded. “Say it with words, female,” he roared. “Fine, I give you my word that I will obey you,” I mumbled softly and he nodded, pleased with my answer. “Take this back to her cell and leave me until supper,” he said firmly before stepping up before me. I stared at his pretty blue eyes, refusing to blink my own. Once the other two had left the air I held in my lungs escaped from between my lips and the corner of his lips curled up a bit. “You have a lovely scent, female. It's a shame that you're human,” he said flippantly and I raised my brow. “At least I'm not a smelly dog that drinks blood!” He changed instantly into a menacing beast and I felt fearful. Raising his clawed fingers around my throat, I was wide-eyed, staring into the face of a frightening creature with amazing blue eyes. “I'm a Lycan hybrid and half-vampire, you pathetic mortal! Don't fuck with me,” he asserted and I looked him in the eyes and asked him if he was going to eat me, shocking him since he stepped back and rubbed his eyes while I bit my lip nervously. “No, I will only drink from you once a week,” he said firmly and turned, shifting once again into his smexy human, then began arguing with himself. “Are you mental,” I asked, hearing the chain clanking as I spun my index finger near my temple. Side-eyeing me he huffed and closed his eyes while shaking his head. “Not that it's any of your business but I speak with my Lycan, Ares. He doesn't like you very much,” he snapped and I didn't respond. I just crossed my arms and drawled reluctantly, “OKAY.”Jade Pinkerton's pov A couple of months later~ Standing awkwardly with an axe in my hand, I gauged the distance to the target covered in snow, then released it. It tore through the frigid air, then buried itself in the bullseye, giving me a smile. Rubbing my baby bump I winked at Nikolai and waddled toward him to see how I'd done. “You're improving greatly, but your balance will change after the pup is born, so you'll need to adjust your stance,” he said softly, and I nodded. “I am well aware, dearest,” I replied with a grin. “I really don't want to be an Alpha, Jade but winning against Jamison is personal for me.” “I know, but I'm going to win either way, so technically I will be the Alpha,” I told him confidently with a smirk, then wrinkled my nose at the stab of pain in my lower back that had crept up once again. I had tried to ignore it all morning but it was becoming more persistent. Eyeing me critically Nikolai asked me if I was getting contractions. Screwing my face I
Jade Pinkerton's pov “Wait up!” I shouted as disappointment filled me at the sight of him walking away. “I should have stayed as he requested,” I murmured sullenly. “Yes, you certainly should have,” Senay stated, causing my shoulders to droop as I followed Nikolai through the trees. “I don't know why he is so pissy at me. He failed to disclose that he was related to Jake and now Jamison,” I snapped and closed my mouth seeing him waiting up ahead for me. I lowered my eyes from his stern ones studying me as I neared him. “You're angry with me because you left the house when I asked nicely for you to stay?” He questioned, and I side-eyed him, then shook my head slowly. “No, but I am sorry for killing your brother and getting challenged by the other one. I wouldn't have done any of that had I known they were your relatives.” Peeking up at him I was confused by seeing the grin playing on his face. “Please don't call them my brothers. I don't and will never call them family…You, T
Jade Pinkerton's pov Just as I was about to turn and sprint away I was yanked back by a handful of my hair and hissed. Jamison turned me around to face him. I spat in his face, then narrowed my eyes, seeing the anger ignite within his irises. “Release me! I want nothing to do with you, “ I growled. “Perhaps you don't but I have something I wish from you,” he said in a rough, deeply accented timber. Eyeing him strangely, I shook my head and yanked away from his hold, leaving him with a handful of my dark hair strands. “I'm not interested,” I growled sourly then tore off in the direction of Nikolai's home. The persistent ass was hot on my heels, I glanced up at the tree branches above my head that I was passing. Then, spying a low-hanging one, I jumped up quickly onto it. Running carefully across its length, I went to another branch, then another, and heard Jamison cursing below. “I'm going to shoot you, female! Come down here!” “Fat chance,” I murmured as I slowly eased my w
Jade Pinkerton's pov The following morning I woke to an empty bed. My stomach sank as my eyes focused on my nightstand to see a long-stemmed red rose and a handwritten letter addressed to me. “Did he leave to get the twin,” I muttered sourly as I reached to grab the note. My eyebrow cocked at his lovely penmanship as I read the note. “Dearest, I will return after I have dealt with the threat. Sorry, I didn't bring you; it wasn't done out of disrespect, but because I didn't want you or our pup to be harmed. Much love, Nikolai.” Studying the swirls of the letters and the ink I swallowed uncomfortably. “Did he write this with ink and quill? How old is he?” I questioned in exasperation. “Nikolai is aged and accustomed to the older generation,” Senay responded with cynicism. “Well, he's amazing in bed for an old geezer,” I chirped as I climbed off the bed and stumbled into the bathroom to shower. As I washed, I debated on whether I should go after him, but my Lycan was
Jade Pinkerton's pov “Let me get Monica, I want her to stand with me,” I murmured, causing Nikolai to chuckle. “Bring Thomas as well since all four of us are tying the knot. It will be a dual wedding.” Smiling at him I shoved down the bitterness I was feeling over Sofia. After squeezing his hand, I called out for my bestie and her mate, but then glanced at him when Asher came to his side. “Are you sure they want to get married?” Nodding Asher smirked, “Their child needs its father's surname.” My eyes widened briefly as my insides bubbled with excitement, and when Monica sauntered up to me, I burst into laughter. “We are pregnant!” She grinned and looked at me nervously. Nearing my ear she asked how I knew. “Asher told me,” I chirped excitedly and she pouted. “I haven't told Thomas yet.” Asher tilted his head toward Thomas as he laughed, “I believe he knows now.” Monica and I turned to see Thomas's face light up with happiness as he rushed forward to greet my best friend.
Jade Pinkerton's pov Thankfully, Thomas went to Nikolai's office to contact the Beta of Jake's pack and told me to relax in the living room. “You shouldn't be stressing yourself in your condition. The Beta will come quickly,” he sighed softly. Thanking him, I allowed Monica, Jesse, and Sofia to escort me out of the foyer and into the large living room. An hour later, I was sitting in the living room across from the Beta of the White Mountain wolf pack. His name was Trent Graves and he was a kind fellow. I carefully listened to what he was telling me. His guards were collecting the Alpha's body to return to the pack for burial and I would glance over at them as he spoke. “I can take care of the pack issues until you decide what you plan for us,” he said softly and I eyed him curiously. “I want you to know that I have no ill intentions for you or the pack members. I will be blunt with you,” I explained, exhaling deeply. “I was a human before all of this, and I have little to
