Damian charged against the two beast-like creatures, and when they collided, their impact was so great that the earth trembled and quaked. Damian threw one of the beasts away, but the other clawed him hard and deep on the face. Its long, sharp claws ripped Damian's face off, and the force from its strike sent him flying in the air, landing hard on the ground.
The two beasts then had him surrounded, roaring and grinding their teeth as they drew closer. Damian gradually got up on his feet, and his damaged face started healing up very quickly. One of the beasts charged at him, wanting to bite his head off, but Damian was very fast to duck. He then grabbed hold of the creature by the leg and spun it around in a 360-degree rotation. He threw it hard towards the other beast charging at him with much strength, and the collision of both beasts sent them tumbling down a hill.
Damian was really vexed and charged up at this point, so he went after them as they tumbled with his claws and fangs out as he jumped on them. Clawing and biting as they tumbled down, he was winning the fight with the beasts. But soon enough, the number of the beasts became advantageous to them, and they finally rolled down to a plain suffer.
Damian had broken one of the beast's legs, leaving it crippled. He then faced the other, wanting to kill it. They engaged in a struggle, and finally, Damian had the creature where he wanted it, with both his arms firmly around the beast's neck, ready to apply the killer bite. But unknowingly to Damian, the wounded beast's leg had healed up, and it jumped on Damian from behind, biting off his head and then spitting it out of its mouth. The beasts were victorious against the monster, or so they thought because as they walked away, a new head grew back on Damian's body, and the old head turned into dust, then vanished completely.
He stood up alive again. “Ouch. That hurts,” he said smirkingly.
"ROARRRRR!" he charged at them.
Damian charged at the beasts in lightning speed, colliding hard with one of the beasts' stomachs with a pointed elbow. The force sent the beast flying backwards, and it smashed hard against a mud hut, making a huge hole in the building. The other beast pounced on Damian, coming at him in full speed with its claws fully extended and its mouth wide open, hoping to chop off Damian's head with a bite. But Damian let himself fall halfway to the ground and, using the beast's force and momentum against it, he catapulted it up into the sky with his legs.
"ROARRRR!" Eric Damian roared as he went after the other beast he had sent smashing through the wall.
At this point, the beast was slowly getting up to its feet when Damian landed a hard and painful kick right in the creature's ribcage, creating a cracking sound. Like a soccer ball, the beast flew vertically upwards, crashing hard into the roof before landing back on the floor. The creature groaned and whined in agonizing pain, and Damian loved every bit of it. He was enjoying the pain he was inflicting on the creature. Holding the beast by its tail, he dragged it out of the hut.
The other beast stood close by, watching as Eric Damian dragged the almost lifeless body of its friend. Damian could sense the fear in the onlooking beast, but he knew it wasn't going to back down; it was ready to fight till its last breath, and Damian would have it no other way. Throwing the beast he held by the tail to a tree, like it was nothing, even though the tree fell over because of the immense weight the beast had.
“Come get yours,” Damian said, daring the onlooking beast to make a move at him.
The beast moved in circles, around Damian, growling angrily and measuring him while Damian just maintained his position, waiting for the creature to make a move, while still keeping an eye on the other beast he had thrown against the tree.
“ROARRRR!" The beast finally made its move, pounding on Damian with its claws completely stretched out, but Eric Damian dodged it by rolling over on the ground.
They repositioned themselves quickly, facing each other eye to eye, with Damian in a crouched position. Damian huffed, the beast growled, and then they charged at each other again...
The other beast had slowly started recovering; it was strong enough to stand. It looked to catch Eric Damian by surprise again, just like it did the first time when it chopped Damian's head off, but Damian was alert to its scheme this time around. As Damian charged to meet one beast, the other lurked behind him, waiting for the right and perfect time to strike... which he saw. Thinking Damian wasn't aware of its presence, it punched.
Eric Damian made an attempt as if he was going to jump head-on to the beast, but instead, he slid on the ground, and both beasts collided with one another in a horrific manner. He then extended his claws fully, stabbing one of the beasts straight into its chest, with his claws reaching for its very heart. The beast howled in great pain as Damian held its heart from inside its body. All he needed to do was pull it out, and the beast would be dead...
Unlike Damian, the beasts could only heal wounded flesh, but they weren't immortals, so if vital organs like the heart or their head were to be removed, they wouldn't be able to grow back. They would most definitely die.
Eric Damian squeezed its heart inside its chest, causing the beast to howl even louder, and the other beast tried to come to the aid of its friend, but he pinned it down by stepping on its head hard to the ground. He could feel the heart of the beast beating on his palm, and he was ready to pull it out... but then he stared into the eyes of the beast. Looking past the scared and defeated look, he saw something that made him refrain from killing the beast, and for some reason, he withdrew his hand away from its chest, sparing the creature its life. The beast went crashing down to the ground, breathing weakly, then it transformed back to a man, back to one of Damian's friends, Christopher.
Damian also removed his foot from the head of the other beast, staring at both of them for a while with a look that lacked any expression. He turned around when his ears caught the sound of something, and his nose also picked up the scent of the same thing: humans. Humans were coming in his direction, but instead of Damian going to kill them all, he sped off to the other direction and vanished into the night, never to be seen or heard from again.
With that, Mathias ended his storytelling.
“Wow! What an incredible tale," Clara said, clearly following along with the story. "He must have realized that the beasts were actually his friends; that's why he spared their lives."
“You may be right, but vampires don't have a heart. It's not in their nature to feel pity, so it was really a strange act by him," Mathias said.
“But what really was the cause of the girl's death that led to Eric being cursed?” Clara asked.
“According to my grandfather, it was discovered that the girl was bitten by a deadly spider, the black widow. That's actually the cause of her death," Mathias narrated.
“Poor girl, it must have been a painful death... but since Eric Damian was never seen or heard from again, it means the two werewolves didn't have to fight against anyone again, right?” Clara asked, curiously.
“That was not the case. You see, it was later discovered that those people Eric had bitten but didn't kill caught up with some kind of fever that made them scream in agonizing pain. Then they all died, but after a few minutes, they all woke up. Every single one of them was no longer human; they became bloodsuckers just like Damian. The two werewolves had to save the village again from this set of new bloodsucking demons, but surprisingly they found it much easier to kill this new set of vampires. They were not as strong as their maker Eric Damian...” Mathias narrated but had to stop talking when some students who looked like bullies came up to them.
Clara noticed that Mathias all of a sudden looked scared, and she knew it was because of the four boys. Three of them were huge and big, while the fourth one was a normal-sized teenager, but surprisingly he was their leader and spoke like a man.
“What do we have here? Mathias is actually talking to someone. A girl?? A very pretty one at that," he said, checking Clara out with lustful eyes.
“W..What do you want?” Mathias said in a scared and shaky voice.
“Funny you ask that question. How about you give us your lunch money, and we spare you the embarrassment of walking home without your pants on?” the boy said in a threatening way.
Mathias was quick in bringing out his wallet and he took all the money out of it and was about handing it over to the boy before Clara stopped him.“ you would do no such thing! ” she said holding his hand and putting it down.“ it's OK really, ” Mathias said obviously fearing what they would do to him or Clara.“ No it's not OK, how can you give them all your money! And you guys should be ashamed of yourself bullying an innocent boy, ” Clara said boldly, not intimidated by them at all.“ Do you know who you are messing with? ” The boy asked.“ I don't give a damn who you are, you can be the president's son for all I care but that doesn't mean I will sit and watch you mistreat my friend, ”Clara said and she could see a smile formed on Mathias face when she called him her friend.“ Careful there little girl, no one talks to Steven like that and goes away unscathed, ” One of the huge boys warned.Steven made a wicked smile “ don't worry boys she will find out the hard way....Let's go,
Clara was completely surrounded and had nowhere to escape. She was very far away from the school building, so nobody could possibly help her, even if she screamed for help. Clara was really scared as she realized she was at their mercy, but she wasn't going to let them see her fear, so she kept up a bold and courageous act. “I don't have time for your silly games," Clara stated firmly, staring directly into Steven's eyes. "If you think I will be cowering in fear because of you, then I am sorry to tell you that you have made a big mistake, and you just proved to me that I am right about you alone. I am right when I said you were nothing but a coward!” Steven was quiet for a while, and Clara decided to talk more. “And trust me, you are going to pay for what you did to that innocent boy. That's not a threat; it's a fact," she said confidently, hoping to intimidate him. Then she finished speaking and turned around, facing forward, resuming her trek, hoping she had talked her way out of t
It got to a point where the beast stopped walking. A male shirt, jeans, and sneakers were scattered on the floor where it stopped. then something remarkable occurred when the wolf-like creature started transforming into the shape of a man until he was completely transformed into a fully fleshly man—a teenage boy, really. He picked up the clothes and wore them, and a smile touched his lips before he sped off. Clara got home feeling really tired. She was scared and completely exhausted. Walking up to her room, she threw her bag at one corner of the bed and collapsed on it, still wearing her shoes. Immediately she fell asleep and went straight to the dream world. [ Clara's dream ] She kept seeing flashes of the wolf creature, its eyes, teeth, and long, sharp claws, its massive head and body. In her dream, the wolf was chasing her through the woods, and she tripped and fell to the ground on the root of a large tree. The creature ran to meet her, it jumped on her body with its mouth full
Clara just finished narrating to her friend Anna what had happened to her the day before, and how a wolf-like creature had saved her from the hands of Steven and his minions. She also made it clear that she was planning on reporting Steven to the school authorities and even goin further than that, reporting him to the government authorities. "I know you are really angry, and you want to make them pay for what they did to you, or rather what they wanted to do to you, but don't you think that's too harsh?" Anna said, clearly not supporting Clara's decision. "Harsh? You call standing up for oneself harsh!" Clara replied, almost shouting, which made the whole class, including the teacher, glance at their direction. "Keep your voice down, will you?" Anna whispered, her tone filled with concern. "Is everything alright, Clara?" Miss Jane, the biology teacher asked, her attention on Clara and Anna. "Everything is alright, sorry Ma, I just got a little bit excited, that's all," Clara said
Mathias stopped and turned to look at the principal. “Anytime you feel like talking, you know where to find me," Mr. Phillips said, then increased the volume of the TV set. Mathias left his office. Caleb helped Clara search for the creature she described in the books, but all they saw fitting that description were mythical creatures. “Werewolves? Are you sure about what you saw? Because everyone knows werewolves do not exist... Maybe because you were really scared that's why you imagined the creature to be that big. Maybe it's just a normal-sized wolf you saw," Caleb said, not wanting to believe in the existence of a werewolf. He is more of a science-minded person. “I know what I saw... I am not saying it's a werewolf or anything, but the creature was really big and large. That was no regular wolf," Clara said, trying to emphasize her point. “Okay. Maybe it's a bear then? Bears are known to grow really big," Caleb said, trying to find a logical explanation. “I think I am old enou
Meanwhile, back in the library... “Do you think Clara was serious about this werewolf stuff?” Caleb asked Anna, his tone conveying genuine curiosity. “Are you asking me? Because I really don't know. All I know is that she looked serious. I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I think Mathias is having a bad influence on her,” Anna replied, her voice tinged with concern. “I don't think it's fair to blame Mathias. Even the guy in question himself hasn't once said he had seen a full-grown, alive werewolf before. He always says someone told him or he read it somewhere,” Caleb argued, his voice calm and rational. “What do you want me to say? Because you don't expect me to believe she actually saw a werewolf!! That's just insane,” Anna retorted, her voice rising in frustration. “I know, I know...but she doesn't seem like someone who was lying. Maybe, just maybe, she saw a creature that matches her description,” Caleb said, his tone thoughtful. “Don't tell me you are believing this fair
“Yes...she should be here by now,” Clara said, and all of a sudden, thoughts of what happened yesterday when her mom didn't show up flooded her mind. She didn't want a repeat of that. “Hey, you!” a familiar voice came from a distance. It was Anna, and Caleb was with her. “You just left even before the game ended. Should I be worried about something?” Anna said, furrowing her brows and directing her question at Clara but giving Mathias a mean look. “Everything is fine. Mathias was just helping me with what I discussed with you guys earlier in the library,” Clara explained, her voice hesitant, betraying her unease. But Anna simply dragged Clara away by the hand, leaving Mathias and Caleb staring at each other. After moving some distance away from the boys, Anna began, “I don't care how you will take what I am about to say, but I just have to say it.” “I don't understand what you're saying,” Clara said, looking lost and confused. “I think Mathias's craziness is starting to rub off
Dr. Ellen emerged from the kitchen and set both bowls of cereal on the dining table before making her way to the sitting room. Someone was lying on the sofa, wrapped up in a duvet from toes to neck, with only their head uncovered. Approaching the person, Dr. Ellen tenderly kissed their forehead. "Wake up sweetheart, it's time for dinner," she said, softly tapping them to rouse them from their slumber. Clara groggily opened her eyes. "Dinner is ready," Dr. Ellen repeated. "Alright, Mom," Clara replied, rubbing the sleep from her eyes with the back of her hand. She was still feeling drowsy, but her hunger was outweighing her tiredness. The mother and daughter silently enjoyed their meal of cereal at the dining table until Dr. Ellen spoke up, "The boys I saw you with, are they your friends?" Clara took a moment to consider her response before answering, "Yes, they are." She kept her eyes fixed on her food. "Hmm," Dr. Ellen sighed. "What?" Clara asked. "Nothing, it just seemed like
