NOAH'S POV

Pressing my lips against Ariana’s felt like licking a hot frying pan.

Just seconds ago, I was drowning in Calix. His mouth had been so soft, so sweet… and everything I had been starving for over the past month.

But now, with my hands wrapped around Ariana’s waist, all I could taste was her bitter lip gloss and different shades of empty wrongness.

Jesus Christ!

It was worse than bad… definitely the worst decision I had made all day, and pretty sure my lips would be needing

CALIX’S POVThe bright yellow lights of the gurney flashed across my face as four campus medics lifted Noah’s limp, bloody body onto the rolling bed.Oxygen mask pinned over his nose. Thick white bandages wrapped tight around his leg and head, already turning dark red from his blood. Noah’s eyes were closed tight, his face pale, his chin resting uselessly against his chest as the medics yelled at each other and wheeled him fast through the shattered glass doors toward the waiting ambulance outside.“He’s losing too much blood! Clear a path!” a female paramedic shouted, running alongside the bed.I stood completely still on the red-stained ice, watching them wheel him away.My jersey was soaked in Noah’s blood. My gloves were covered in it. My heart was thudding so hard against my ribs that my whole chest felt numb. Every single drop of fear, doubt, and hesitation inside my mind burned away into a cold, lethal heat.I turned my head slow, looking up at the high metal catwalks near the

  • The Ice King And His Hockey Boy Toy    CHAPTER 59: BLOOD ON THE ICE

NOAH’S POVEverything went black for three seconds. The sound of the crash was so loud inside my skull that my ears were ringing like a broken alarm. My body felt like it had been hit by a freight train. Every single muscle in my back was screaming in pure pain, and the air in my lungs was completely gone.Red emergency lights were flashing through the thick cloud of white ice dust and smoke hanging over the rink. High above us, the alarms were blaring, a loud, screeching noise that echoed off the high ceiling. Thousands of people in the bleachers were screaming at the top of their lungs, running toward the exit doors in total panic.I was lying flat on my side, my body heavy and useless on the freezing ice.Right under me, Calix started to move. He was coughing hard, his hands pushing against my chest to sit up.“Noah? Noah, speak to me!” Calix gasped, his voice trembling like crazy. He opened his eyes, blinking through the thick smoke. He looked down at his own body, checking his ar

CALIX’S POVThe horn blew loudly, signaling the start of the third period. The score was tied at two all. The whole arena felt hot and loud, full of people screaming, stomping their feet, and banging on the glass walls. The air inside the rink was thick with tension. Every single hit on the ice was harder, faster, and more aggressive than before. It was a complete bloodbath out there. My lungs were burning, and my legs felt heavy, but I didn't slow down for a second. I wanted this win so badly I could taste it in my mouth.I skated down the middle of the rink, keeping my knees bent, my eyes tracking the black rubber puck.A heavy opponent defender tried to hit me against the side wall, but I dipped my shoulder, spun to my left, and dodged him completely. The crowd roared as I burst into open ice, speeding straight toward the opponent's goal line.“Sinclair!” a voice shouted from my right.I looked up. Oliver Wells was skating parallel to me, wide open near the left post, his hockey s

  • The Ice King And His Hockey Boy Toy    CHAPTER 57: THE CHAMPIONSHIP

NOAH’S POV The stadium was packed to the maximum. Every single seat in the Kensington University arena was taken. Thousands of students, alumni, and sports scouts were screaming from the bleachers, waving blue team banners in the air. News cameras were set up along the glass walls, their bright lights sweeping across the ice. The media wasn't just here for hockey, they were here to watch the fallen golden prince playing on the same ice as his father’s ex, mistress’s son. The energy inside the building was like a bomb ready to go off. I stood near the bench in my blue jersey, fixing my gloves. My bank accounts were still frozen, my dad was still sitting in a jail cell, and my future was totally unknown. But looking out at the bright ice, I didn't feel broke or weak at all. Calix skated up right next to me, sliding to a smooth stop. His helmet was strapped tight, and his cheeks were slightly red from the cold air. “You ready for this?” Calix asked, raising his hockey stick

CALIX’S POVThe clock on the wall read eleven o'clock at night.Tomorrow was the regional championship game—the absolute biggest match of our entire hockey season. The entire campus had been buzzing about it all week. If we won tomorrow, Kensington University would go straight to the national finals. But if we lost, our season was officially over. The pressure was huge, hanging over my head like a thick cloud. I was sitting on the edge of the couch in our small, temporary apartment, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. I had my right skate sitting on a towel on the coffee table, adjusting the blade screw with a small screwdriver. My mind was running in wild circles. I couldn't stop thinking about the game tomorrow, about Coach Miller trusting me to play left wing, and about Tobias stalking us in the dark shadows.*Where the hell is Noah?* I thought to myself, glancing at the front door. He had been gone for hours, off tracking down Tobias’s old room. The front door lock turned,

NOAH’S POVThe moment I walked back into the rink lobby, I knew something was wrong.Calix was sitting on the wooden bench, his hockey stick lying flat on the floor, holding his hand tightly over his left ribs. His face was pale, and he was taking short, careful breaths like it hurt to move his chest.I dropped my phone onto the floor, sprinting across the lobby, sliding down onto my knees right in front of him.“Calix!” I yelled, grabbing his legs, my hands shaking. “What happened? Who did this to you?”Calix looked down at me, letting out a weak, shaky breath. “Tobias... He was waiting in the rink when the lights died. He slammed me into the glass.”A sudden, violent wave of heat exploded behind my eyes. Blood rushed through my ears like a roaring river. My protective instincts snapped into absolute overdrive, making my teeth grind together so hard my jaw ached. I wanted to tear Tobias apart with my bare hands.“That deadbeat bastard,” I growled, reaching up to gently cup Calix’s ch
