CHAPTER 5: HER OR HIM?

last update publish date: 2026-06-14 19:40:39

CALIX'S POV

One second, I was drowning in the heat of Noah’s skin against mine, the sweet roughness of his tongue, and the terrifying realization that I was wrapped around a man and I didn't want to let go.

But then the next second, reality snapped back.

Noah jumped off me in one swift movement while I quickly scrambled out of the bed.

My chest was moving fast, my lips still stinging from the force of Noah's kiss. I looked down at my hands, they were shaking so much that I had to clench them into fists and hide them behind my back.

Ariana was still still standing in the doorway, her eyes darting between my shirtless red chest and Noah, who kept his head down.

“Noah?” Her voice was barely audible. “What… what the hell is this?”

My brain was screaming. ‘I’m straight. I’m the Captain of Northcott. I don’t do guys, I like boobs.' but the feeling of Noah's cock was still pressing between my thighs, and the taste of him was still at the back of my throat.

I looked at the floor, unable to meet her gaze, feeling shame wash over me.

“Get out, Ariana,” Noah said, his voice no longer the desperate tone he had used when he told me he wanted to fuck me.

“Get out?” Ariana chuckled dryly as she stepped into the room, slamming the door shut behind her.

“I just caught you with… with this thing!” She pointed a painted finger nails at me. “Your Dad is downstairs, Noah. Do you have any idea what he would do if I walked down there right now?”

Noah glared at her. “You won't tell him.”

“Oh, I will,” She hissed, stepping closer to him. “And I want him out of this house, If he is still here in ten minutes, then I’m telling your father. I’ll go downstairs right now, and tell him that his only heir is a fucking faggot!”

For a long moment, silence was the only thing in the room.

“It’s raining, Ariana,” Noah muttered with a weak tone. “And it's... It’s two in the morning."

“I don’t care if it’s the end of the world!” Ariana shrieked. “Make a choice, Noah. Me and the Kensington name, or… this.” She pointed at me again, eyeing me from head to toe.

“Fine,” Noah sighed. “Just… give us a minute.”

Ariana scoffed as she turned and walked away, slamming the door shut behind her.

I stood in the corner, my heart feeling like it was being squeezed by a cold hand. I looked at Noah, waiting for him to say something.

I watched him reach for his shirt on the floor, and pulled it on slowly. When he finally looked at me, the soft gaze in his eyes was gone, replaced by a cold one.

“You heard her,” He said. “You have to go.”

I felt like I had been slapped. “What? Noah, it’s pouring heavily out there. And I don’t have a car.”

“I don’t care, Sinclair.” He snapped, and turned away from me. “Just get your things and leave, I don’t want to look at you anymore.”

“You don’t want to look at me?” I stepped forward, my brows furrowed together. “You were the one who came into my room and wanted to fuck me!”

Noah turned to face me again, “I was obviously out of my mind! Looking at you now makes me sick.”

The words sliced through me cleaner than a skate blade. I was disgusted too, that for a split second, I had actually started to feel something for a freaking man! And even earlier, I had foolishly spread my legs open, begging him to drive his cock into me in my mind. The heck!

Without a word, I grabbed my bag, shoved my few belongings into it with shaking hands while Noah stood like a pillar of salt in the middle of the room.

As I passed by him, I slammed my shoulder into his as hard as I could like a final fuck-you! before I walked out of the room.

**ONE MONTH LATER**

The Northcott Hockey ice rink was beautiful.

And that was the irony of it all. Every single time I stepped onto the ice, I was reminded of the price I had paid.

The boards were new, the ice was smooth, and even the locker rooms, once peeling and smelling of like sewage, now looked brand new and luxurious.

I sat on the new soft bench in the locker room. My teammates were gone for the day, but I stayed back as always because It was the only place I felt like myself, even if ‘myself’ was someone I didn't recognize anymore.

Noah had destroyed me... there was no other way to put it.

For four weeks, I hadn't been able to sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I felt the lingering pressure of his hands on my wrists, the heat of his mouth on mine, and his hard cock pressing between my thighs.

I was a straight guy, and I definitely liked girls, but my body was a traitor. Two nights ago, I had woken up with my heart racing from a dream where Noah was touching me like he still owned me. I had woken up hard and horny, aching for a man I hated with every fiber of my being.

He had turned me into someone else, then tossed me into the rain like garbage so he could keep his silver spoon.

My phone buzzed in my pocket then, I pulled it out, squinting at the screen, It was a news alert.

**KENSINGTON HEIR CELEBRATES ENGAGEMENT WITH ARIANA STERLING: A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN.**

Ariana was smiling and holding Noah’s arm, her diamond ring catching the camera’s flash, while Noah was looking like a corpse. And even the tie on his neck was bent and loosened like he had been forced into the suit and dragged to be in the photo.

I kept staring at the photo for a very long time until a new notification popped up at the top of my phone screen... it was a text from an unsaved number.

**It's Noah. Can I see you right now? I’m in the Northcott rink, right outside the locker room.**

My heart stopped. Then it restarted, thudding hard against my chest like it was trying to escape.

I looked at the door of the locker room. The man who had used my body, and threw me out was standing on the other side.

As I stood and headed for the door, I didn't know if I wanted to kill him or let him do it all over again.

The media wasn't just here for hockey, they were here to watch the fallen golden prince playing on the same ice as his father’s ex, mistress’s son. The energy inside the building was like a bomb ready to go off. I stood near the bench in my blue jersey, fixing my gloves. My bank accounts were still frozen, my dad was still sitting in a jail cell, and my future was totally unknown. But looking out at the bright ice, I didn't feel broke or weak at all. Calix skated up right next to me, sliding to a smooth stop. His helmet was strapped tight, and his cheeks were slightly red from the cold air. “You ready for this?” Calix asked, raising his hockey stick

The entire campus had been buzzing about it all week. If we won tomorrow, Kensington University would go straight to the national finals. But if we lost, our season was officially over. The pressure was huge, hanging over my head like a thick cloud. I was sitting on the edge of the couch in our small, temporary apartment, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees. I had my right skate sitting on a towel on the coffee table, adjusting the blade screw with a small screwdriver. My mind was running in wild circles. I couldn't stop thinking about the game tomorrow, about Coach Miller trusting me to play left wing, and about Tobias stalking us in the dark shadows.*Where the hell is Noah?* I thought to myself, glancing at the front door. He had been gone for hours, off tracking down Tobias’s old room. The front door lock turned,

He slammed me into the glass.”A sudden, violent wave of heat exploded behind my eyes. Blood rushed through my ears like a roaring river.
