Biological Mother

After everyone left the banquet Mr. and Mrs. Sheng bid their farewells as well. They hand me a sheet of paper with their address and phone numbers on it. Mrs. Sheng smiles softly before speaking.

"Your father says you do not have a cell phone yet, Take this and you can reach us wherever you need anything, In a few days you can move in and meet Kadachi!"

I nod with a slight smile.

"Thank you, Mrs. Sheng, You guys have a good night."

With that said they take their leave and i'm led back to my bedroom where my parents and younger sister are waiting for me.

My sister Rin wore a disgusted face upon seeing me enter the room. Her mid-short blond hair was straight and her golden eyes went well with her top-brand Louis dress that is black.

Rin rolls her eyes and points directly at me.

"So what now? Who am I supposed to marry I thought you said I would marry before this trash!"

Our mother sighs and gives Rin a sympathetic look.

"The Shengs said they would only allow the eldest daughter to marry into their family, Plus their son is said to be ruthless and cruel, I don't want to put you through the contract marriage just for you to end up dead on the side of the road Rin, Besides your only 17 and it's hard these days for teens your age to be contracted into a wealthy family especially while our family is in so much debt."

Rin thought for a moment before speaking again, she seemed a bit more relieved knowing the truth behind all of this and smiled wickedly.

"I see now, Father, Mother is the best!"

(If my soon-to-be husband is as wicked as they say he is I wonder if it'll be worse than it is here...None the less at least I still have some hope for my future in this life.)

My father then takes his attention to me and looked to be disgusted for a moment. The feeling of being looked at that way by your own father no matter how many times he has before sent a wave of pain through my heart. Before they leave I hear my father whisper to my mother under his breath.

"I can't wait for this girl to be out of our lives, every time I look at her I see her biological mother and it brings me so much disgust!"

My mother's reply wasn't any better.

"Soon you won't have to bother with her anymore dear, just the day after tomorrow and she'll be gone for good."

Mother then turns to me before walking out the door.

"One other thing Kairi, If you tell anyone anything about your home life we will ruin you, got it?!"

I silently nod and the door closes behind them. I sit down on the edge of my bed and sigh trying to remember anything about my biological mother.

(I don't have any memories of her...I wonder what she was like and if she was kind or loved me.)

Back when I found out my mother now is not my biological mother I was told that she died when I was 5.

My earliest memory is when I was 6. My father and now mother told me id be staying in this very room until they found any use of me.

Ever since that day I was shackled, beat, starved, tortured, and touched by whoever felt angry or upset. I was the punching bag for everyone in the home. If someone offended someone outside of the family I was the tool they used to compensate someone.

Though my virginity was never lost. My parents thought they could use that later in life hence... in my current situation. If I didn't obey my parents or if I offended them in any way they'd do unspeakable things to 'teach' me from right or wrong.

If my sister Rin were to cry in my presence for any reason at all id be beat or starved, if they lost interest in the torturous ways they used they find new ways to make me feel all sorts of pain. Either by locking me in a soundproof pitch-black room or putting me in a box with little air to breathe and no room to move.

I remember one time I had passed out and when they let me out they had to bring a Dr in to bring me back. Near-death incidents were the worst as a child.

Another example is one year they brought home a puppy. I had fallen in love with the puppy but one day Rin wanted to play with the puppy and it had accidentally scratched her, she went to kick the puppy but I had blocked her from doing so in which she fell down and started to cry.

That same day the puppy was killed in front of me and I was told it was because I had pushed Rin and made the dog scratch her.

In the end, it got me to obey them and for the past 3 years it had been getting better, I found that if I hardly spoke and just said yes ma'am or no ma'am and did everything I was told no matter what it was it would save me from anything happening that day.

(I know that there are people in this world that are a lot better than my family and not as cruel, My hope is that the Sheng family will be my saving grace at this point. It doesn't have to be a perfect fit...all that I want is to feel free and loved.)

I wipe a tear that had fallen down my face away and decide to get changed for the night and ready for bed.

(Maybe this is the light at the end of this tunnel.)

My thoughts wander for the rest of the night like this.

-A few days later-

Once I was ready for the day and packed up all of my belongings I close the door behind me and pull my single luggage to the front door where my family was waiting.

They all seemed very happy as they talked to the bodyguard that was here to pick me up. The man wore a black suit with black sunglasses on, He had nice dark brown hair and a nice stance. He smiles once I approach them and greets me instantly.

"Hello Ms. Kairi, I will be your personal bodyguard and assistant Kota it's nice to finally meet you!"

He takes his sunglasses off and I could see his light hazel eyes. He holds his hand out for me to shake which I do without hesitation.

"You as well Mr. Kota."

Kota chuckles and grabs my luggage for me.

"Kota is just fine no need for any formalities Ms. Kairi."

I nod and he takes a look at my parents who wave goodbye to me. The front door opens and for the first time in what felt like year's I could feel the warm sunshine on my skin which made me stop in the doorway to take it all in. The summer breeze brought a fresh scent to my nose of all sorts of flowers and freshly cut grass.

(I hadn't realized how good the fresh air felt or smelt in a long time. The breeze on my skin right now is so nice too.)

Kota noticed my sudden halt and looks back towards me in worry.

"Ms. Kairi are you alright?"

(This feels amazing, I never want to go inside ever again!)

I nod at Kota's question and with a bright smile on my face, I follow him to the car. He opens the door and I climb in buckling my seat belt.

(Every moment up until now...I can forget it all if every other moment and feeling I feel right now is just like this.)

I lean against the car door and peer out the window as the car starts to move, I loved to watch the scenery as we pass by. In total the car ride lasted about 2 hours but I enjoyed every second of it. Kota would casually bring up different questions I couldn't answer since I had been informed by my family to stay silent so I just said id rather not talk about certain things in return made him curious and worried at times but I played it off as just a touchy subject.
