Cassian

“What did you do?” I asked him, my voice cracking and eyes shimmering with tears. I gasped, taking a step back. This can’t happen right now.

“Leave us!” He ordered, and everyone scurried away except Alaric, who was standing next to me.

“And you, Alaric,” he adds, but Alaric steps forward, trying to shield me from Cassian. However, my heart is racing so fast that it feels like my entire world has just tilted out of control.

“I’m not going anywhere,” He declares, but Cassian strides towards us, his eyes darkening.

I placed my hand on Alaric’s shoulder. “I’m fine. Please leave us,” my voice comes out like a whisper, barely audible over my heartbeat.

“Sash”

“I’m fine, Alaric,” I insist.

He takes his time, his eyes roaming around my face, searching. I give him an assuring smile before shifting my attention to Cassian.

“I will be close in case you need me,” he says to me, then walks past Cassian, whose eyes are trained on me, expecting me to look at Alaric.

“Can we talk in my room?”

  • The Imperfect Luna   My Mate's Wolf

Sasha“Why are you still up?” Alaric asked, coming closer to where I was pacing back and forth. My father was taken to the hospital, but it’s not anywhere near the compound. It’s also been an hour since Cassian was gone, and I can’t help but feel something is wrong.“You didn’t go?” I raise an eyebrow, and he sighs heavily, shaking his head. “No. I didn’t. I have to make sure I stay here.” He explains, coming closer. I narrow my eyes, wondering why an alpha would need to stay back, but then he adds. “Protocol”I pull on my cardigan, staring up at the moon. “Something feels wrong,” I explain, my eyes roaming around the sky. The moon shines brightly, and it’s a warm evening, but I feel uneasy.“He will be fine,” he says, and I glance over my shoulder to look at him. I don’t understand what he means. His lips quirk up, and he strides towards me, then stands by my side. “Cassian, I mean”“I’m not... He is…” I stuttered, and he chuckled, sliding his hands in his pockets. There’s an awkward

  • The Imperfect Luna   A New Foe

CassianAs we strode out of the castle, I turned to Xavier, my voice low and urgent. “What the hell happened? What was Alpha Thorne doing at the Garden View?” I asked, my eyes narrowing with intensity. I knew my men were capable, but after what happened ten years ago, I was taking no chances—I was getting involved and getting answers.“Your Grace!” Alpha Harry’s voice was an unwelcome interruption, his footsteps pounding the ground as he rushed towards me. I let out a tired sigh. I didn’t have time for this—not now, not when I had a dozen other pressing matters demanding my attention.“You’re going into the city?” Alpha Harry’s voice was laced with disbelief, and I raised an eyebrow, daring him to say more.“My city was just attacked, and you expect me to stay here and wait?” My voice was low and tight with frustration and anger.Alpha Harry closed the distance between us, his eyes darting around the hallway before settling on me. “You don’t need to get involved,” he said, his voice f

  • The Imperfect Luna   Were you even his Mate?

SashaMy heart is pounding hard against my chest. I didn’t think I would see her at the castle. I thought Cassian would have asked her to leave, but I was wrong. She is still here.“Were you really his luna?” She asked, her words hanging in the air like a challenge, laced with a hint of curiosity and mockery.“I don’t know what you want, Ravenna, but one thing I am certain of is that I have no business with you.” I picked up my book and turned towards the closet, my movements swift and deliberate. What if she saw what I was researching? My heart sank at the thought, my hands trembling slightly as I gathered my books. I didn’t want her to see the pages I was reading.‘Let me tear out her eyes,’ Rory sneered, her eyes darkening to an almost feral intensity, like a predator sensing prey.“But you see, Sasha, I have some business with you.”I froze, my heart racing as she snatched the book from me. I slowly turned to face her, meeting her angry gaze.“Look at me when I’m talking to you!”

  • The Imperfect Luna   A Confused Mind

SashaThere’s something about getting lost in a good book that feels like coming home. It’s the escape. Maybe it’s the connection to the characters. When I first left this pack, I couldn’t read even my own last name. After reading about bonds, one thing stood out–the woman always had to make a choice. But in my case, it was easy; I wouldn’t accept either of them as my mate.Every time I think of Cassian, the memories flood back. Can I separate my feelings from the question I need to ask?I want to ask him questions like, ‘Did you know I was your mate? Did you care?’ But can I handle the truth?Maybe asking him about being mates will give me the closure I need. But what if the truth is more painful? So many questions twirl in my mind. While Alaric knew he was my mate, he kept it hidden. Rory claims he’s my true mate—but what does that even mean? Is there more than one kind of mate bond? After searching old books, I hit a dead end—every source pointed to the same information. True mate,

  • The Imperfect Luna   I Will Not Be Your Accomplice

AlaricThree years ago“You need to let her go,” my father said as I sat down on the cold floor.“How? How do you let go of a person who makes you complete?” I asked, my voice almost cracking.“You’re not making this easy for yourself. His Grace will have your head if you keep sputtering this nonsense!”“Go to her. Tell her to explain to him. She knows the truth,” I insisted, my eyes roaming around my father’s face, Alpha Trent. He didn’t care about mates or bonds, but Sasha to me was something I couldn’t just let go.“Tell her? The girl is gone, and here you are, waiting for her,” he laughed dryly, his eyes cold and sharp.“What do you mean she is gone? Did he kill her? No!” I pulled on the silver chains binding me to the floor, my heart clenching tight. I could have felt her dying, but I refused to believe she was gone.“She ran away. It’s been a week,” my father said as he sighed heavily, coming closer. “Your friendship with Cassian should have been what restored our honor. Why did
