The Imperfect Luna

Sasha “Shall we get this over with? I have places to be.” The man’s husky voice comes as he strides towards the table in the middle of the room. His slow, deliberate movements were like a predator stalking its prey, every step a silent promise of impending doom. The surrounding aura radiates something like power and dominance My father smiles like he just hit the jackpot, walking to the table, when I see the high priest walking to the table as well. The man takes the pen from my father and signs the document; his gaze fixed on me. The way his eyes are trained on me sends an icy chill down my spine, there was no mistaking it – this was a man who thrived on fear.I quickly avert his gaze. My father would kill me if I ever stared at him this long, but curiosity gets the better of me as I turn to look at the man again, watching him write on the paper.I am getting married to a man whose name I don’t even know. I have tried to find out from Rhett and Länna, but they both seem not interes

Sasha“I have some rules,” He finally says. After hours of silence, I slept for a few hours and woke up at first light. This place is so far from my pack. I shift my attention to him so that I hear his rules. I have lived by the rules all my life.Never speak unless you are spoken to. Never eat it unless it’s given. It’s always been about rules, so I know how to live by them.“When we get to the palace. I will introduce you as my wife. Do you understand what that means?” he asks, of course, I know what it is. I have always prayed to the moon goddess to give me one, and he never came. Maybe because I was wolfless, I didn’t know who it was. “You will live in a separate room and have access to the entire palace, but you will stay away from my side of the building. Are we clear?”“How will I know which one is the side of the house?” I ask.“It’s on the second floor. The entire floor is mine. You are to stay away from all my men. I don’t want you looking in their way,” he goes on, and I

SashaThe walk to Cassian’s office is long, and it takes everything in me to memorize everything I see on the way. Ariel knocks on the door, then steps back.“You can go in.”“He hasn’t—”“It’s soundproof, so you won’t hear him,” she remarks. My lips part to say something. Soundproof? That’s fancy, but from what I have seen, the king seems like he is really rich. She pushes the door for me, and it opens. I walk into the office, and it’s so huge. Almost the size of my father’s entire living room. The king seemed to be deep in thought, standing by the window. I take my time admiring the way he looks. It’s as if he is lost in his world.“Your Grace?” I call, and he turns around to face me. He frowns, holding his glass tightly. He is drinking whiskey. My heart races. I know what happens when my father calls me to his office and he is drinking.“Didn’t have time to freshen up?” he asks me, his eyes trailing over my body.“I did. Do I not smell okay?”“NO. You are still in your old dress,” h

Sasha Since I can remember, I don’t think I have ever had a day to myself doing nothing, but since I came to the capital a week ago, all I have done is sleep in this bed and stare at the wall. I haven’t spoken with His Grace since he called me to his room that day to tell me he wanted me to carry his child. I have asked Ariel what I can do to help, and all she said was whatever you want, but I don’t even know what I want to do. Everything for me was decided for me since I could talk. Maybe I could help in the kitchen? I am good at that. I think, biting my nails. I could ask Ariel if she needed help with anything when she brought me lunch. I will ask her. A knock comes, bringing me out of my thoughts as I turn to look at the opening door. I know it’s Ariel who has brought my lunch. “Ariel,” I smile, getting up to my feet. I have been feeling a bit low, but seeing her brightens up my days. But when she comes into view, she has no tray in hand. My smile fades from my face. “I though

SashaMy heart races, my head spins, and the air in the room feels thick and suffocating. I can barely breathe. My palms grow hot as I stare into the eyes of His Grace. Is this the moment I finally meet my maker? So many thoughts whirl in my mind.“Get out!” He releases my dress, shoving me away. I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.“Thank you,” I manage to say, turning on my heel. I rush out of the room, not daring to look back. My breath comes in short, rapid gasps.I practically run down the corridor, glancing over my shoulder, when I bump into someone.“No!” I scream when someone grabs me by my shoulders.“Sasha… Calm down. It’s okay,” Taylor’s voice assures me as I lift my gaze, looking into his eyes. He narrows his brows as he looks at my hand.“What happened?” He asks, and I shake my head. I don’t think I can bring myself to talk about it.“Beta Taylor,” I whisper, tears rolling down my cheeks. “He… He…hurt…” I stuttered.“What the hell is going on here?” A deep, h
