That night, the wind howled around Crimson Peak like a warning. Inside the quiet library, Rafael and Kim sat side by side, spreading out every old paper and faded note they could find. His hand trembled a little as he traced the torn metal piece, but his eyes were clear and steady now. For the first time in five years, he was not hiding from the truth he was holding it in his hands, and it no longer felt like a burden. It felt like strength.

“He will not stop,” Rafael said softly, looking at Kim. “Now that he knows we are not afraid… he will hit harder. He will use everything he has against us lies, money, fear… anything he can find.”

Kim covered his hand with hers, her touch warm and steady. “Let him. We have something he will never have: nothing to hide, and nothing to lose but fear itself. He may have all the power for now, but he cannot fight what is true forever.”

Early the next morning, before the sun had fully risen, they drove into the city to find the mechanic who had worked on Rafael’s car all those years ago. The old man ran a small shop tucked between tall buildings, oil stains covering his hands and grey hair messy from long hours of work. When he saw Rafael, his face went pale, and he wiped his hands nervously on his apron.

“I was paid well to keep quiet, Sir Rafael,” he said, wringing his hands. “They told me if I spoke, my wife and children would never be safe. I was just trying to feed my family and keep them alive.”

“I do not blame you,” Rafael said gently, his voice full of understanding. “I know what it is like to be afraid to speak up. But now I am asking you to speak the truth not for me, not for anyone else, but simply for what is right.”

The mechanic looked at him, then at Kim standing quietly beside him with kind, patient eyes, and finally nodded slowly. “The brakes were cut clean through with a sharp tool. It was no accident at all. And the man who paid me… it was Damien’s right hand. He threatened me right there in my own shop.”

Just as they stepped out of the shop, a black car blocked their way. Two large men in dark suits stepped out, blocking the door so they could not pass.

“Mr. Sterling wants you to come with us,” one said coldly, his hand resting near his waist.

Rafael stepped in front of Kim instantly, his posture straight even with his cane. “Tell him I am not going anywhere. And tell him that the truth has already started to speak, and no amount of threats will ever silence it again.”

Before they could move further, a familiar voice cut through the tension. “Let them pass.”

Damien stood at the end of the street, his face twisted in a mix of anger and disbelief. He had come to threaten them himself but seeing Rafael standing tall, supported not by guards or wealth, but by a simple girl and a long-hidden truth… it shook him more than he would ever admit.

“You think this will change anything?” Damien spat, stepping closer. “I have the board on my side. I have money, power, and every person who matters bowing to me. You have nothing but old scraps and a girl who does not know what she is getting into.”

“You have power,” Rafael answered clearly, his voice ringing strong and true, “but you have no respect. You have wealth, but you have no loyalty. And you have control over people’s fears… but you will never have control over what is true.”

He held out the torn metal and the mechanic’s signed statement. “This is not about being an heir anymore. This is about what our father would have wanted. And he would have wanted justice not greed, not lies, not hurting your own blood just to take what was never yours alone.”

For a moment, silence hung heavy between them. Damien looked at the proof, then at the way Kim looked at Rafael not with fear, not with pity, but with a quiet, unbreakable pride. And something inside him snapped not with anger, but with a cold, desperate resolve.

“You win this round,” he said low and sharp, his eyes burning with hate. “But do not think this is over. I built my world on silence and fear. And I will tear yours down brick by brick until you regret ever standing against me.”

He turned and walked away, his men following close behind. But as he went, Rafael saw something he had never seen before: a flicker of loneliness in his brother’s eyes, buried deep beneath all the cruelty and pride. For a second, he almost felt sorry for him until he remembered all the pain Damien had caused.

On the drive back, Kim rested her head on Rafael’s shoulder, letting out a long breath she seemed to have been holding for hours. “He is afraid,” she said softly. “Deep down… he is just afraid of losing everything he stole.”

Rafael squeezed her hand gently, bringing it to his lips for a moment. “Maybe. But I will not let him make us like him. We will fight with truth, not lies. We will stand together, no matter what comes. I will not let him take you too.”

But as the sun set that evening, painting the sky in shades of deep red and grey, a single envelope slipped under Kim’s door back at the village. There was no name, no return address only a single sentence written in dark, slanted ink that made her blood run cold:

The storm you have awakened will not spare anyone you love.

Kim did not sleep that night. She sat by her small window, the threatening note folded carefully on the table beside her. Every shadow outside looked like a man waiting in the dark. She thought of her little brother sleeping soundly in the next room, and her heart clenched tight with fear not for herself, but for him. He was all she had left in this world, and the thought of anyone hurting him made her blood run cold.At dawn, she went straight to Rafael. He was already waiting at the edge of the village, pacing slowly, his face pale with worry the moment he saw her tired eyes and trembling hands.“They came to your house?” he asked sharply, stepping closer as if he could shield her from everything just by standing near.“Not yet,” Kim said quietly, her voice shaking. “But they threatened to. Rafael… what if they hurt my brother just to get to you? He is only a child. He does not know anything about this family or this fight.”Rafael reached out and pulled her gently into his arms, ho

Kim barely slept that night. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the pain in Rafael’s face, and the cold, satisfied look in Damien’s eyes. The truth felt heavy in her chest how could someone hurt their own brother just for power? How could Rafael have carried that secret alone for so long?Early the next morning, she was already at the clinic when a car stopped outside. It was not Rafael’s driver this time. A man she had never seen before handed her a sealed letter and left without a word. Her hands shook as she opened it. It was not from Rafael. It was from Damien.Leave him. Go back to your simple life and never come near Crimson Peak again. If you do not… I will make sure you and your little brother regret the day you ever crossed a Sterling. The paper crumpled in her fist. Fear pricked at her heart not for herself, but for her brother, and for Rafael. But then she remembered Rafael’s voice: You are the only one who sees me. She would not run. Three days passed since that terrible scene in the library. Rafael had not sent for her, nor had he come to the edge of the village like he used to. Every time Kim walked along the shore, her steps felt heavier, her chest tight with a quiet fear she dared not name. She told herself he was only busy, or that he needed time to calm things down inside that great cold house. But deep down, she wondered if he had finally listened to them if he had decided she was not worth fighting for after all.She was closing up the clinic late one evening when a familiar shadow fell across the doorway. Rafael stood there, leaning on his cane, looking more tired and worn than she had ever seen him. His coat was damp from the sea breeze, and there was a hurt in his eyes that made her heart ache all over again.“I am sorry,” he said softly, before she could even speak. “I did not mean to stay away so long. I just… I needed to make sure they would not follow me here.”Kim stepped closer, her voice tremblin

  • The Impotent Heir Billionaire Fell In ❤️With a Simple Girl    THE FIRST STORM

A week passed, and Rafael found every little reason just to see her again. Sometimes he sent his driver over with fresh fruits or warm bread baked that morning in the estate kitchen. Sometimes he would wait by the edge of the village, leaning softly on his cane, just so he could walk beside her along the shore for a few quiet minutes. They never held hands, never spoke bold words but every glance that lingered a little too long, every quiet laugh they shared, every gentle nod felt like a promise neither of them dared say out loud.Word spread fast in Azure Cove. Whispers followed Kim wherever she went, light at first but slowly turning sharp.“Do you see who she walks with now?”“What could he possibly see in someone like her?”“She must be after his money. Why else would a Sterling notice a simple girl from the village?”Kim heard every single word. Some days her chest felt tight, and she wanted to run away, to tell Rafael they should stop before things got even worse. But then she w

  • The Impotent Heir Billionaire Fell In ❤️With a Simple Girl    THE FIRST STEP IN

Three days passed, yet Kim could not stop thinking about him. Every time she walked along the stony shore of Azure Cove, she found herself glancing toward the road where that sleek black car had disappeared. She told herself it was only a concern that she simply wanted to know if he was feeling better but deep down, she knew it was more. No one had ever looked at her the way Rafael Sterling did: like he truly saw her, not just her worn clothes or quiet, simple life. She was sweeping the clinic’s small porch that afternoon when a shiny silver car pulled up. A man in a neat suit stepped out, holding a white envelope sealed with gold wax.“Miss Kim Dickson?” he asked gently.Kim wiped her hands on her apron, her heart beating fast. “Yes… that is me.”“I am from Crimson Peak Estate. Mr. Rafael Sterling asked me to bring this to you myself.”She held the envelope carefully, like it was something precious. Inside was a short note, written in clear, neat handwriting: I want to thank you prop
