Steam filled the bathroom mirrors. Two souls were soaking in a luxurious jacuzzi. Morning had just arrived, but Draco had already invited Luna to join him for a bath. They looked just like a honeymooning couple. Although Draco’s demeanor remained cold, he was slowly beginning to show a softer side—not as cruel as before.

“Draco,” Luna called softly. She was sitting on Draco’s lap, her face buried in his neck.

Draco stroked Luna’s back. “What is it?”

“Could you… not go to the office today?”

“You want me to work from home?”

“Yes. I want you to work from home. But if you don’t want to, that’s okay. I won’t force you.”

Draco cupped Luna’s cheeks, surprised by her unusual request. “Why are you suddenly asking me to work from home?”

Luna bit her lower lip. “I-I just want to be near you, Draco. B-but if you can’t, I understand.”

Luna cursed herself for daring to ask Draco so openly. This was the first time she’d ever made such a request. She couldn’t even explain what had come over her—it ju

Luna’s heart felt as if it had been pierced by a sharp blade at Draco’s words. Her throat felt like she was swallowing a thousand needles. It wasn’t just her heart that hurt—her whole body ached. Her eyes brimmed with tears, threatening to spill over at any second.Luna’s body shook with a pain she had never felt before in her life. She wanted to scream as loud as she could, the agony after hearing Draco’s confession almost unbearable. She had never experienced a wound like this. She’d been slapped by her aunt, she’d gone hungry when her aunt refused to feed her.But the suffering her aunt inflicted on her was nothing compared to the pain she felt now. She felt like glass—cracked, fragile, and barely holding together. Luna’s legs buckled, and she nearly collapsed. Fortunately, the very man who had wounded her was still holding her. If not, she would have fallen to the floor. Right now, Luna felt like she didn’t want to breathe anymore. The tears that had gathered in Luna’s beautiful e

Luna couldn’t calm herself. Her eyes were swollen from all the crying she had done. The tears may have dried, but her heart was still shattered. Her mind kept replaying the sound of the woman’s voice calling out to Draco while she was on the phone with him.If she could, Luna would have gone after Draco. But that was impossible. She couldn’t leave the house without Draco’s permission. The maids would certainly stop her from going out.Luna stared out the window, her gaze empty and her face etched with sadness. This pain was unlike anything she’d ever known—sharp, raw, and all-consuming. Never in her life had she been this close to a man, the way she was with Draco.Luna was painfully aware that Draco had bought her at an auction. It was entirely possible that one day, Draco would get bored and cast her aside. Nothing was impossible. She knew her place. Still, Luna couldn’t help but hope that Draco might actually love her. It sounded terribly cliché, but that was what Luna wanted from

Draco stepped out of Mireya’s hospital room once the woman had finally fallen asleep. His face was clouded with frustration. He was forced to stay, all because of Mireya’s madness in attempting suicide. In truth, Draco could have gone home today, but if he insisted, Mireya might do something reckless again. Reluctantly, Draco chose to spend the night at the hospital, just to make sure Mireya wouldn’t do anything foolish.“Sir.” Nigel bowed respectfully to Draco.Draco closed his eyes briefly. “Have my men stand guard here. Also, arrange for a maid to always be with Mireya. I don’t want her doing anything crazy again.”Draco decided to ask Nigel to arrange for bodyguards and a maid. If he didn’t do this, there was a good chance Mireya would try something desperate again. At the very least, he was taking precautions before something unwanted happened again.Nigel nodded politely. “Yes, Sir.”“Nigel, has Luna gone to bed yet?” Draco asked, looking at Nigel. He wanted to know what Luna wa

Draco walked down the hospital corridor, his face clouded with barely contained anger. His chest burned with frustration as Nigel’s words replayed in his mind. If it was true, then Mireya was being utterly foolish. How dare she act so recklessly, without a shred of common sense?“Sir…” Nigel greeted Draco promptly as soon as he arrived. He had gotten to the hospital before his boss.Draco shot Nigel a cold look. “How’s Mireya?”“The doctor just finished examining Miss Mireya. Fortunately, the cuts on her wrist didn’t hit any arteries. She’s going to be fine. But the doctor advised that we shouldn’t burden her with any heavy thoughts,” Nigel informed him.Draco clicked his tongue, cursing under his breath. He was furious that Mireya had dared to do something so insane—something that almost cost her her life.“Can I see her?” Draco asked, his tone icy and flat.Nigel bowed his head. “Yes, Sir. Miss Mireya is awake now.”Without another word, Draco strode off toward Mireya’s hospital roo

The pounding music was deafening. Draco sat at the bar, alone. He’d gone out for the night, seeking relief from the stress pounding in his head. He’d decided to go to a nightclub. Ever since Mireya had reappeared, Draco had been plagued by headaches. He was never afraid of anyone, but Mireya’s constant meddling was what truly wore him down.“Sir, are you here alone?” the bartender tried to make conversation.Draco downed his vodka. “My assistant will be joining me later. But he has some work to finish first.”Draco had come to the club alone. Nigel wasn’t with him, since Draco had given him some tasks to handle. Being Draco Riordan’s personal assistant meant being ready to work morning, noon, evening, and night. Draco never knew the meaning of rest when it came to work. Long before Luna came into his life, work was all he cared for.“Sir, would you like to dance with me?” A beautiful, sexy woman approached Draco, hoping to seduce him.Draco finished his drink and squeezed the woman’s
