Chapter 47 – Meeting Valerie

I am pacing the floor nervously, waiting for my dad to come back with Liam and Valerie. I have been so nervous about what to do or say, what to expect. I really just hope she can help, more importantly, that she wants to.

The front door opens, and I stop up waiting when they enter the living room. Liam walks over to me while my dad stays next to Valerie. She looks incredibly old, with shiny white hair and wrinkles on her hands and her face, her golden eyes look around and stop when they reach me. She smiles softly and comes over to me.

“The last time I saw you, you were only a little girl.” She says softly and smiles. I look at her surprised.

“Have we met before?” I ask

“Oh yes. I was looking for a way to keep your mothers secret safe. Sadly, I didn’t make it before it was too late.” I look at her, not knowing what I should say. She comes close and looks into my eyes.
