Wedding night

After a few hours of traveling, they finally reached Country A. Now, they were on the busy streets of the capital city of Country A. Today, the street and market area of the capital city were more crowded than on other days because the people of Country A wanted to welcome their newlywed King and Queen. The people showered the King and his Queen with flowers and shouted, saying, "Long Live The Great King And The Queen."

Alexander, as usual, was riding his horse with a cold and straight face, not showing any emotion. Meanwhile, Victoria was sleeping inside the carriage. While she was sleeping inside the carriage, a rose petal fell on her lips. She woke up and picked up the rose petal. She looked at the rose petal and tried to see where it came from. She heard many people shouting and looked outside the carriage. She saw many people showering them with flowers and blessing them.

Victoria didn't expect to receive such a lovely welcome from the people of Country A. A soft smile appeared on her face. She leaned her head outside and waved her hand at the people of Country A, smiling. The people showered more flowers in her direction and waved back at her. Alexander looked back when he noticed his people waving their hands behind him. When he looked back, he saw Victoria leaning her head outside the carriage, smiling, and waving her hand at his people.

Not to mention, she looked like a sleeping princess who had just awakened from her slumber. Some strands of her hair were on her face in a messy bun, which made her look even more beautiful. While she was smiling and waving her hand, the red rays of the setting sun passing by her face gave her a different glow.

On the way to the palace, there were many people, so it took a little more time for the newlywed King and Queen to reach the palace. However, rumors of the Queen being as beautiful as an angel from heaven had already circulated in the palace. Within minutes, there was also a rumor that the Queen seemed to be very cheerful, kind, and lively.

All the people said that the King was cold, aloof, and emotionless like a devil, whereas the Queen was beautiful, cheerful, and lively like an angel. They were a perfect match made in heaven, one light, and the other dark.

Inside the palace, Queen Mother Meghan was checking the preparations for the wedding. At that moment, her maid, Lady Lora, came running to her excitedly. Queen Mother Meghan looked at her maid and said, "Why are you running, Lora? You are not at the age to run here and there like a teenager. And what is it that has you so excited?"

Lady Lora bowed her head in front of Queen Mother and replied, "I am sorry, your highness, but I heard a rumor about the new Queen."

Queen Mother Meghan smiled mockingly and said, "Beautiful like a goddess? She is just a mere princess from a small country. Who knows who will be the queen in the future. I may remove her from being the queen and appoint a new queen. No one knows what the future holds, Lora."

Lady Lora shivered upon hearing Queen Mother Meghan's words.

At that very moment, they suddenly heard a commotion in the palace. Out of curiosity, both of them walked to the source of the noise. They found an old lady begging and crying while the palace guards were trying to push her out of the palace.

"What is happening here?" Queen Mother Meghan asked.

All the guards, along with the old lady, bowed their heads, and one of the guards replied, "Your royal highness, the Queen mother is begging to meet the King. She is saying that her son and daughter-in-law, who were in the army, have been accused of a crime they did not commit. She insists that her son and daughter-in-law are innocent."

"Yes, your royal highness, please save me and my family. I have no one other than them. I have a small grandson. Where will I go? What will I do? I have no money, no house," the old lady pleaded, kneeling with her grandson in her arms. She tried to touch Meghan's legs.

Before she could do that, Queen Mother Meghan had already kicked the old woman and her grandson.

"How dare you lowly people touch me? Don't create a scene. Today is the King's wedding. And even if thousands of people like them die or thousands of you all end up in the street, Country A will not suffer any loss. Country A is the biggest, most powerful, and richest kingdom in the world. Who could dare to defy us?" Queen Mother Meghan said proudly.

After saying that, she ignored them and walked away from there but stopped when she heard the old lady say, "Remember, no one is greater than God. God is watching all of you. Everyone has to pay the price for their wrongdoing."

This angered Queen Mother Meghan. She looked at the guards and commanded, "Throw them out of the palace into the street. What are you waiting for?"

Queen Mother Meghan then returned to her chamber, full of anger and fury. She started smashing all the things in her chamber.

After arriving at the palace, Alexander went to his chamber to discuss some important issues with Albert and Leo.

In Queen's chamber, Victoria had just bathed and was getting ready for her wedding night with the help of her two maids, Ara and Lina. She was thinking about all the events that had happened in her life today.
