Chapter 12 Chapter Twelve

작가: Kimberlycullen14
The snow felt softly on the pack grounds. There was a slight breeze that fluttered above us, carrying the smell of incoming spring.

Killian sat next to me on the little bench. It was the first time in years that I've been out of the pack house. We had walked in the snow silently enjoying each other's company.

Red Hallow Pack was like any other pack. It was smack in the middle of nowhere with a few houses and local shops littering the little town with eight hundred resistance, all of them wolf shifters.

No humans had been allowed in the pack. I had heard of incidences of hunters that came or passed by, but nothing major, nothing to cause any problems.

The Red Hallow Pack loved their privacy, unlike other packs that have opened their doors to humans and humanoids alike. The Red Hallow Pack was still stuck in the past, still weary of the outside world. But they had no problem adopting the human way of life.

The streets were filled with Christmas lights and decor. Every little house on the street had a unique quark. Mr. Humphrey, the local butcher, had hung a deer head on top of the large green sign that said "Humphrey's Butchery." The local grocery store had an inflated Santa who was surrounded by a group of five-year-olds who were playing ring around the rosy with the Santa in the middle. Even the street lights had been decorated with spirals of Christmas lights. It was as if Killian and I were in the middle of  Sanata's workshop.

"Tell me about your family," Killian's voice came to me, forcing me to look at him. He was staring at me now. Had he been staring at me all this time? I was stuck in my own mind. Perhaps I hadn't noticed his attention, but then again, my wolf would have sensed his eyes on me. She's been acting too weirdly around him. It made me anxious.

"My family is dead." I said without hesitation. "They have been dead for a long time."

" I mean, when they were alive, what were they like? What was your mother like? "

I had to admit it stung a bit. I hadn't thought about my mother for the longest time, not because I wanted to forget her. I couldn't forget her even if I tried. The memories, however, are all bitter-sweet. We shouldn't play with patched up wounds. Who knows if they'll open up again.

"My mother was a nice woman, kind and funny. She'd always made me laugh. She'd often tell me stories about the elves and stories about the Lycans, her people, and how she missed Amoria. "

"Your mother was from my pack?" He was almost half shocked.

" Yes, I mean, your pack is the only Lycan pack to have ever existed. She'd always talk about how beautiful it was that the land was green and stretched as far as the eye could see. How it was almost like paradise, how there were horses and every type of animal imaginable there, that no human could ever find it because it was a place of magic and wonder. It was the land of shifters and humanoids.

She'd also told me stories of the land. Stories about how the Goddess had fallen for the spirit of the hills and how she had a son who was the first Lycan."

"What about your father?"

" My father...well my father was...I...I can't really remember. All I remember is that he was a nice man who'd loved my mother dearly.he died fighting along side the alpha."

The silence cut in for a while, and we both let it. It wasn't easy digging up past memories, the more I remember the painful it gets but now it felt like a full ache in the nearest conners of my soul.

Memories of a life that I had lost.

"You look like king Greil." Killian smiled, his hand tucking back the small strand of hair that had carelessly made it's way out of my pony tail and onto my face.

"Who the elf king you insulted?"

"I only saw him from behind at first he had long black hair. How was I supposed to know he's the ruler of the elven clan."

"Killian, you have long hair too and you're not a female,"

"His hair was longer, like a females and he was wearing a cape!" I rolled my eyes at his flimsy attempt to explain himself.

"In any case you do look like him, your hair, it's different. it's not the normal black that humans and us have, rather almost like ink. It has traces of blue in it. Almost like the Iliards Royal family's "

It was weird being told that. I did know that I was a little bit different. For one I was taller than the normal female wolf, I had a wolf spirit that actually talked to me and my sharpened senses, well... It's almost too sharp for my liking. But that was just who I was. I was born this way, though deep down I feel that something is missing something that should be there but isn't a piece of me that's missing. I couldn't shake that feeling.

" What's your family like," I asked trying to concentrate on something else. I was dying to know more about him. He had been open to me almost to much but I enjoyed the way he let me see his true side, the side that he let no one see not even his beta. To the outside world Killian was ruthless, strict,. Cold and aloof. He acted as if no one was worthy of his attention and to them he had been a Titan, Though hidden behind the stone wall of coldness laid a man who was gentle, sweet and knew how to joke around. He was an open book to me, he allowed me to see him.

" I don't remember them, it's been decades, centuries even. I can't remember their faces."

The silence was deafening. I turned in the bed trying to make myself comfortable, holding on to the sweet fog of sleep but it was slowly ebbing away. I grunted and turned to the other side. It definitely wasn't the bed, it was comfortable too comfortable. Or maybe it was the sound of the trees of the sunlight that was practically blinding me. I open my eyes giving up on the hopeless mission to stay asleep my mind simply wouldn't allow me to keep on sleeping. The room was different.I sat on the bed and looked around. The green and gold sheer canopy that draped the sides of the bed blurred my vision but I could see it. The wooden dresser, golden mirror a large mosaic tile-like carpet, are no doubt from the human world or the Pixie clans. The floor was wood; the large oak tree occupying a large portion of the room was in the middle. I look up and I can see the blue sky up above. An enchanted ceiling just like the one in my room in the high eleven towers but the whole room looked differen

It was her power again, grail had warned me about this, that something like this would eventually happen. Genesis hadn't quite had a good hold of her powers yet. I understand that Griel and the rest were somewhere giving out Jeffrey’s sentence and having the Moon Goddess answer to her crimes as well. The campsites made its way into my view and I smiled. Ler had taken me back. What was even better is that I could see the rows of tents and the figures beneath walking about doing their daily duties, they were still there.Ler’s arrival had caused a few to look up and now a small crowd was gathering in front of us. I saw him through the crowd he stood there next to Grod eyes wide and a smile on his face. Ler landed right in front of them and they came closer.“You’re majesty!” Faran called out urgently as he came closer and almost in an instant was by my side. The rest of the camp had gathered to see me, they stood around whispering and looking. Faran was about to touch me when Grod and his headless form came into view. I felt the cold hands snaking their way onto my waist pulling me off Ler and into his hand. The sudden movement made me hiss out in pain. The feeling of my leg being moved made it difficult for me to focus.Faran looked at my leg, face paling.“Witch!” He shouted to no

I felt cold extremely cold my body trembled. The darkness weighed heavily on my consciousness. I felt my heart flutter thumping rapidly beneath my chest, my mind trying to capture what little my senses could pick up. And everything came into focus. My eyes snapped open but I quickly shut them, the light burning my eyes, once I’d adjusted I opened them again.I saw green, I saw the crystal blue sky and I heard the sound of rushing water. I felt my hair floating around as if being pulled and swayed ever so gently by the river bed, my body lay in the shallow folds of the bank's rocks making my body ache. My lungs burned and I coughed, feeling the water that was trapped within my chest cavity. I tried to stand up but my body failed me and I fell back down and let out a groan. My leg something was wrong with my leg, I could feel the pain, it was strongest there I pulled up my head and struggled to look at it, it was stained with blood a large gash tip running up to the highest point of my a

The moon was full and the night was fresh, for the most part of the night we’d spent in waiting now the thunderous noise of growls, hisses, and snarls made their way across the valley. From our point of view, high above In the distant trees hidden beneath its shadows we could see them clearly. We could smell the blood decay.I could see everything from here, the feeling of the wind rippling through my feathers as my eyes adjusted to the movements down below. When I turn into an owl somehow everything felt clearer I could see everything, I could hear everything. I look down surveying everything, finding out what was there I hadn’t noticed Jeffrey, maybe he had been hiding somewhere.Nevertheless, it was time. I fly back to the tree line spotting Faran in the group of elves almost immediately. He nodded his head and I shift back landing softly on the heavy tree trunk“What did you see?” Faran asked.I leaped down and walked towards the rest of the warriors belowground. Will came out of t

  • The Kings Mate   Chapter 80 Chapter Eighty

The grounds were ripe with anticipation. There was so much tension in the air. For the past three weeks, we'd strategized and talked and fought on the right course of action. A week ago we found that the vampires and terrors were moving closer to the southern borders, they were heading towards the bear shifter packs, cutting off the second strongest shifters before coming for the Kings land.A group of lion shifters who barely made it out with their lives brought the news with them. We ride on today.I walk towards the camps shifters readying themselves for battle, elves, fae, and seelies readying their armor. I could see the fear in their eyes. They were all afraid. That I could see quite clearly. The tents were full, large wolves walking about, the others were scattered about, some reigning the horses, others having meals, some in a circle just waiting. I spot Faran at a far distance, he walks about almost in an aimless manner looking at everything, stopping occasionally to talk to a
