Riley exited the dining area and started walking towards her room, climbing the stairs. She was not home for more than an hour, but she was already feeling lost. That was always what she felt in the fortress they lived in. It was no less than any prison. Shelter, clothes, and food are provided from time to time, only with a lot of luxuries inside.
She would be lying if she is not a little envious about Jordan for having a sweet family and now more happiness through Adrian and Aaron. Sure, Jordan had gone through a lot before finding the right family, but she has been blessed with happiness later. Riley wondered if she will be blessed with happiness, now or later in life.
