Riley peeked out of the plane window. The sky was vast and was clear blue. The land was very far from her reach. The silence that was crept in the first class of the plane made her think about a lot of things. She thought about her life in Italy for the past 3 months she has been back at home. It was an experience filled with nice and not so nice things, mostly the latter. She was at home but it didn’t feel like home. She was with her parents and brother, but it didn’t feel like family. She met with her childhood friends but she didn’t feel the connection. She felt like she had been taken to a different world. All the things she had seen and was familiar for most of her life felt so very foreign to her now.Th
Michael was up today even before his mother could make an effort to wake him up. He had showered and well dressed and styled his hair perfectly. He grabbed his packed luggage and exited his room.“He is up and showered today without you waking him up,” Michael’s father, Jonathan said when he noticed his son walking downstairs.“It’s Jordan’s wedding tomorrow. He is traveling. That is why,” Michael’s mother, Sarah reasoned.
As Michael drove towards the hotel that was booked for the guests, he noticed an empty stage near the beach. For someone who didn’t want to get married early, Jordan surely had plans for it. Tomorrow by this time, his best friend would be already married, where the empty stage will be grandly decorated and all the family members and guests will be present. Michael couldn’t believe it, it felt surreal with every passing moment. He parked his vehicle and got out with his luggage and walked towards the reception area.“Good morning, sir,” greeted the receptionist with a br
Michael woke up feeling good. He had behaved pretty decently in the small party that was held for Adrian last night. It was supposed to be just Adrian and Matthew’s friends, but the list was extended to himself, Ace, Harley, and Adrian’s father, and Michael’s father, Jonathan.Michael’s parents had arrived late in the evening yesterday and as promised Michael’s mom, Sarah had dragged her husband along with her. They arrived with a marvelous gift for Jordan.Michael had had a quite good time at the party. He had plenty of talks with
Riley was fast asleep even if the plane had landed and passengers were exiting. A flight attendant walked to Riley’s seat when she noticed her not moving at all. As much as the flight attendant did not want to disturb her sleep, but she had to. She shook Riley on her shoulder, “Ma’am... Ma’am..” Riley groaned without opening her eyes. “Ma’am the flight has landed.”Now, that was what she had to hear to open her eyes wide and look around her surrounding to see if they have really landed. She turned back to the flight attendant and smiled sheepishly, “I am really sorry. I dozed off and didn’t realize about the landing.”
“Are you ready, Jordan?” Elena, Jordan’s mother stopped half way from entering into the bride’s room. The scene in front of her was heart warming.“Omg… Riley.” Elena went and gave a hug to Riley. And they spoke about the well being of both of them.“You should get ready soon. The wedding is about to begin,” Elena said to Riley. It was then that Riley realized she was still in her airport clothes.
Last night’s long talk and the warm kiss has made something to both Riley and Michael. It was evident that Michael wanted to express more in words but chose to relay his feelings through the kiss. And he was not sure if Riley had caught it or not. After the kiss, they had silently walked back to the hotel and Michael had left her to sleep alone in his room and he had invaded into his next room neighbor, Matthew.Although Matthew pretended to be a little annoyed about Michael sleeping in his room, he had a good time with Michael. They had talked about a lot of things including girls. Michael had not shied away from asking Matthew about how to make someone, a girl particularly understands and wait for you.
Riley boarded the flight and settled in her seat. She was not that long from going back to Italy. Anyone would be happy to go to their native, their home. But not Riley. Her life in Italy is not just like any normal person. Riley Bianchi is the only daughter of the Italian mafia don, Alessandro Bianchi. She always had bodyguards tailing her and she was never allowed to go out of the house without a minimum of two bodyguards following her, everywhere she goes. That did not make her feel treasured, she rather felt like she was being held captive, like a criminal. She did not even want to think about the home until she reached Italy. She tried to get some sleep. She had not slept well last night. She simply could not wrap things in her head. She could not stop thinking about Michael and the kiss they had shared on the beach shore.Riley had woken up just before a few minutes of arriving at Rome-Fiumicino International Airport. She did not have to carry her luggage or hail a
