"Not this," Kane said, finally turning back to face me. His eyes were bright with unshed tears. "Do you think we wanted this? To find out that the girl we've tormented for years is our mate? To know that we've been hurting the one person we're supposed to cherish above all others?"

His raw honesty hit me like a physical blow. I'd expected anger, defensiveness, maybe even more cruelty. I hadn't expected this, this obvious, devastating remorse.

“Sure, whatever, let's get this meeting over with. I have a book that I’d like to get back to and far away from the pack house as possible.” I said.

Alpha Maxwell's jaw tensed at my dismissive tone, but he kept his composure. "This isn't a meeting that can be rushed. The Northern Alliance is planning something, and you need to understand the gravity of the situation."

"Fine," I sighed, crossing my arms. "Tell me what I need to know so I can leave."

"They'll be here in three days," he said, sliding another document toward me. "My sources tell me th

I glanced at my mates, drawing strength from their presence. "With time. With proper care and nourishment. With pack bonds to support you. Your wolves aren't gone, just suppressed.""What will happen to us?" the oldest girl asked, her voice barely audible.“We’re going to try and reunite you with your birth families, or if there isn’t anyone from your family line left, we have heard from couples that the Goddess hasn’t blessed them with a pup of their own that has offered to adopt some of you, but you will have to decide how we move forward. Everything will happen when both you and the time are right.”A collective murmur spread through the room as the children processed my words. I could see hope dawning on some faces, while others remained guarded, too accustomed to disappointment to believe promises easily."You mean we get to choose?" asked a boy around twelve, his eyes wide with disbelief."Yes," I confirmed, feel

"I saw you," she said simply. "In my dreams. You were fighting the bad lady with the cold eyes."Helena. This child had somehow sensed or dreamed about my confrontation with Helena. I reached out gently, not touching her but offering my hand. "What's your name?""Lily," she replied, studying my outstretched hand before tentatively placing her tiny palm against mine. "You're like me.""Like you?" I prompted gently."They took us from our mommies," she said, her simple words cutting straight to my heart. "But you found your way back."I swallowed hard against the emotion rising in my throat. "Yes, I did. And now we're going to help all of you find your way back, too."Lily nodded solemnly, as if this was exactly what she had expected. Then she turned and pointed directly at Lucious, still standing in the doorway. "He was upstairs. In the special room. They wanted him to be a prince."Lucious paled visibly at Lily's declaration, his shoc

"Better than I expected," I admitted. "Still processing everything, but... there's a strength in him that the Northern Alliance couldn't break.""Blackthorne blood," Alpha Maxwell said with approval. "Your family was always known for its resilience."I accepted a cup of coffee from Liam with a grateful smile. "He's agreed to join us this afternoon when we visit the rescued children, though he's unsure about revealing himself to them immediately.""Understandable," Kane nodded. "He doesn't want to trigger any negative associations they might have with the facility."Breakfast conversation flowed around me—updates on pack security, reports from allied packs, news about Helena's continued refusal to cooperate with questioning. I listened with half an ear, my mind still on my brother and the cautious hope I'd seen in his eyes."The Regional Council has requested a formal report on the rescue operation," Alpha Maxwell announced. "They're particula

Lucious sat silently across from me, his expression thoughtful. "You speak of them with surprising...restraint. If what you've told me is true, they kept you isolated and weak for years.""They did," I admitted. "But they were also pawns in a larger game, just as we were. The true enemy was always the Northern Alliance.""The people who raised me," he said quietly.I leaned forward, choosing my words carefully. "The people who stole you from our family and tried to turn you into something you're not."He nodded, his fingers unconsciously touching our mother's pendant around his neck. "The Priestess showed me our family tree yesterday. Seventeen generations of Blackthornes, all the way back to the founding of Shadowmoon Pack.""What did you think?" I asked."It made everything more real somehow," he admitted. "Seeing our parents' names there, and then ours... Lucious and Seraphina Blackthorne. Not Elias Shadowthorne and Iris Delta.""O

As we prepared for bed, I found myself thinking about the future that now seemed possible. A future where I wasn't alone, where I had not only my mates but my brother as well. It was overwhelming in the best possible way."What are you thinking about?" Brent asked as he slid into bed beside me, his amber eyes warm in the dim light."Everything," I admitted with a small laugh. "How much has changed in such a short time? A few weeks ago, I was just Iris Delta, the nobody that everyone ignored. Now I'm Seraphina Blackthorne-Maxwell, mate to four Alpha heirs, with a long-lost brother and apparently some kind of divine connection to the goddess herself.""When you put it that way, it does sound rather dramatic," Liam teased gently, settling on my other side.I smiled, leaning against his shoulder. "It's just... a lot to process. Good things, mostly, but still overwhelming.""You're handling it better than most would," Kane said as he finished his nightl

He nodded, relief flicking across his features at not having to absorb any more information today. "Thank you. All of you," he added, glancing around at my mates with cautious acceptance. "For... everything.""We'll have more time to talk tomorrow," I promised, standing and giving his hand one final squeeze. "Try to get some rest."As we left the library, I felt a complex mix of emotions flowing through me: relief at having found my brother, concern for his mental state, and, beneath it all, a growing determination to help him reclaim his true identity. Diamond stirred contentedly within me, her presence a constant reassurance that we were on the right path."He's handling this remarkably well," Liam observed as we walked toward the dining room where dinner would be served. "Considering everything he's been through.""He's in shock," Kane countered, his expression thoughtful. "The real challenge will come in the days ahead, when the reality of his situati
