LOGINCreeds pov.
Today has been absolute hell. Me and my dragon, Hunter, can not agree on anything lately, not being able to find our mate has taken a toll on us, we’re twenty four years old and need our mate, especially since the dragon magic is dying without female dragons left. Something is missing from our soul, making us feel completely miserable. My father, that bastard, has been hassling me to take a chosen mate but I won’t, I know my fated mate is out there somewhere. I don’t think I could take a chosen mate. It would break me down… ‘I don’t want to take a chosen mate, Creed, it’ll break my soul,’ Hunter says to me in my mind. ‘I know, I know,’ I mumbled back, wanting the same thing as him. Our fated mate. Our other half to our soul. I am the dragon king, today is my birthday and I will go out tonight to look for my mate. The only person on my mind lately. My beta and gamma are going to come with me considering we have been best friends since we were little fledglings. We want to find our mates together. None of us have found our mates in fact. All the same age… all have looked the same amount of time but nothing. We are gonna go to the city and go around to all the clubs and restaurants and just walk around trying to find them, we know in our hearts that they are out there, somewhere. And we’ll find them, even if it takes time. We’ll smell their scents if they’re near, it would be obvious. We decided to eat before we went to the midnight dance club for our last stop of the night. We've been getting less and less enthusiastic the more places we go. We’re giving up hope that we’ll find our mates here. Every place we’ve gone to hasn't had any luck. Their scents are nowhere to be found. We finished up eating and paid our bill before we took our leave. We aren’t very far from the midnight dance club, I’m also the dragon king so I can just walk in without waiting like everyone else, one nice luxury. Most people recognize me, but everyone who works there knows who I am, and what I am. When we arrived I could swear I smelled something amazing, a mix of lavender and vanilla… My mate! ‘Our mate ,Creed, she’s in there’ my dragon whispers to me, making my heartbeat faster at the thought of meeting her for the first time. ‘I know hunter, we’ll find her,’ I whisper back, my eyes searching the entire place for her. We walk to the bar and sit down. I’m scanning everywhere trying to find the source of this smell… almost desperate to find it. When I look towards the doors I lock eyes with the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. I can’t make out every feature or detail from this distance but she’s beautiful. Brown hair… blue eyes… I try to get up to follow her and talk to her, I don't know why but I feel it’s important, when I get to the door and open it and go outside I can’t see her anywhere.. and now that I think of it her scent is completely gone. Fuck. That was my mate. And every trace of her is gone. ‘We need to come here now, Creed, she will come back eventually and I can’t miss the chance to be with her. Our future depends on it… I want her,’ Hunter growls, his voice sounding so far away as I let myself get into my head. Wondering what would’ve happened if I caught her in time. If I could’ve touched her skin, if I could’ve heard her voice… Everyday for a week now I’ve been going back to the midnight dance club and I haven’t even caught the faintest whiff of her. I keep imagining her scent drifting by again, but it hasn’t yet, and I’m starting to think it might never happen again… I cannot stop thinking about her, she’s on my mind all day and it’s starting to make my job harder. I can’t concentrate on anything to do with my tribe. Or my work. Or even my friends and family. She’s a constant reminder of what I let go that night, my future, my heart and soul. I should’ve searched harder, I should’ve ran faster. I should’ve called out. We will stop at nothing to find her, I don’t care what or who she is, a human for all I care, I just need my mate, the other half of my soul. All I want for my future is a family, a wife with as many fledglings she’d give me. Someone who truly loved me for who I am. Not a title I held. Someone who could hold me close at night and whisper sweet nothings in my ear… I’m here again. The midnight dance club. I know she’s here, I can feel it, someone’s been watching me all night, I can feel their eyes on me, their presence. I tried to stay away from this place but I couldn’t. It was always calling out to me. I’m peacefully minding my business when Rayali walks up to me, the worst person to come to me right now. “Hey there, king time no see, Creed,” she says as she takes a seat beside me, making my entire body tense up from her presence. “Rayali,” I mutter, sipping on my whiskey as I try to ignore her. “So… are you here with anyone tonight, Creed? I’ve been feeling lonely lately.. I’ve also never done anything with a dragon before,” she says softly, biting her bottom lip as she looks me up and down. I was about to say something to her when all of a sudden I could smell my mate. She’s here, is all I could think. The one thing I’ve been desperately seeking for is here. My head whipped in her direction and I’m not disappointed when I see the women, THE woman i can’t get off my mind. She’s walking confidently towards us with purpose, making me swallow the lump in my throat. “Well, well, well,” she says, she even sounds beautiful. “L-Lily!” Rayali sputters out, eyes looking like they're gonna pop out of their socket, “H..how is this possible. I haven’t even heard from you, seen you or even heard anyone speak of you in over two years!” Rayali whispers. Lily is her name. Beautiful. I see Lily roll her eyes. Obviously not amused. Instead of answering her she turns to me and says, “Let’s go.” my eyes go a little wider and I can feel my heartbeat speed up at her words. “Okay,” is all I say before getting up to follow her. Wanting nothing more than to follow her every order.EPILOGUELily’s pov. “You guys got this! You’ll be fine!” I say to my children as they get ready for their first shift. “I don’t know, mom…” Juniper whispers nervously, biting her fingernails as she looks up at me, “I’m… scared.”“I’m scared too!” Mazikeen and Athena said in unison, their faces pale as they stared at me. “We’ll be fine!” Maddox chuckles and he hugs each one of his sisters tightly. I smile at him, loving how caring and close they all are to each other. They all look at one another, nodding their heads while having a silent conversation between each other. Creed comes up from behind me. His scent invading my nose, making those familiar butterflies erupt in my belly. A smile comes onto my face as I turn my head slightly to look up at him. “They’re scared,” I whisper, watching our quads smile and laugh with each other as they wait for their shifts to come. “They’ll be fine. They’re strong,” he whispers back, squeezing my shoulders reassuringly. Just as Maddox o
Lily’s pov. “If you think you get to walk in here… claiming my mate… you are surely mistaken. Virginia Wood, you are hereby banished from the Black Rainforest tribe, never allowed to step foot on these lands again. If you do not leave on your own, right now, I will drag you off of our lands myself,” Sapphire growls out, taking control over my body. Virginia doesn’t look scared, she looks cocky. She has a smirk on her face while she has her arms crossed against her chest. “I’d like to see you try…” Virginia went to say but Sapphire was already in front of her, holding her by the throat. She let our flames come out, coating our hands, burning Virginia's flesh. She winced but tried to keep her composure, not letting me see her cracks. Sapphire doesn’t say anything, she just drags Virginia behind us, out of the tribe house and towards the tree line. “Stop! Stop!” Virginia scrambles to say, her hands clawing at mine, trying to pry them away from her throat. But Sapphire growls lou
Lily’s pov. I swallow the lump in my throat as I nod my head at my grandmother. Wanting to know if I’m having one or more. More like needing to know. I don’t think I’d be able to handle another multiple pregnancy. My grandmother smiles as she places her hands gently onto my belly, closing her eyes as she concentrates. Making my heartbeat race as I wait for her to talk. “It’s a… girl, one baby,” she says softly, smiling at me as she looks up into my eyes. My heart stutters at the thought of another little girl. Four girls and one boy. “Wow,” Creed whispers from behind me, “another baby girl.”“Are you happy about it?” I whisper, still unsure of his feelings, even my own. “I am,” he smiles, “I’m even more happy it’s just one in there this time!”Everyone laughs after his words, me included. I’m happy it’s one this time too. I don’t think we need anymore babies. One more is perfect…“Happy birthday, Lily and congratulations on your baby girl! Now Glenda check me! Check me!” Ra
Lily’s pov. “You did so good, Creed,” I whisper to my mate as we watch our babies sleep soundly in their bassinets, snuggled together. “That means more to me than you’ll ever know,” he says quietly, looking at me with so much love in his eyes, "I missed you so much, Lily.”“I missed you too…” I whisper back, “even if it only felt like a few hours for me.”Creed chuckles, making me chuckle in return. “Tell me more about that… you haven’t said anything about it to me yet,” Creed says quietly, looking into my eyes with curiosity. I cleared my throat, wrapping my arms around him as I prepared myself for the story. “It was… different?” I laugh, not sure how to explain this to him, feeling all of the emotions I felt there rushing back to me,“I- I was walking next to Sapphire. She wasn’t within me but next to me. As her own form. She led me to the goddess. Who showed me the double sided mirror of Selene. I literally sat there and watched as that omega maid poisoned Maze… I had to wake m
Lily’s pov. “How were they while I was… away?” I asked Raya as she sat beside me with Wren and Aspin in her arms. She smiled down at them before looking towards me, “they were great, honestly. Creed was a little stressed… but I was there, helping as much as I could.”“Thank you, I really appreciate all of your help. And I don’t blame anyone for what happened to Mazikeen… it was a desperate attempt. But they did not succeed…” I say softly, looking towards Creed who is forcing me to rest while he cares for the babies. I smile to myself, grateful for my wonderful mate. “I’d do anything for you Lily,” Raya replies while standing up, “I’m going to go help Creed for a bit, it looks like he’s struggling.”We both chuckle as she walks away, placing her sons down to help with Thena, Juni and Maze. Max clutched tightly to Creed’s chest, not wanting him to let him down. Extremely attached to his dad since the last few days I was… gone. “Are you sure I can’t help?” I ask Creed, laughing as
Lily's pov. All I can see is darkness, but all I can think about is how that omega poisoned Mazikeen. How she smiled as she put the poisoned bottle into her mouth. How Mazikeen, so innocent, so clueless had drank it all down greedily, clueless to the dangers. How Creed was too busy to notice…My head turns and spirals as a million thoughts race through my mind. Until suddenly I’m sitting up, gasping for breath. “Mazikeen!” I yelled as I scrambled out of the bed, throwing the cover off of me and running towards the door. I pull the door open fast, breaking it off of its hinges, not caring, just running faster down the hall towards the stairs, knowing they must be at Ryan and Raya’s room. “Queen!” The maid that poisoned Mazikeen shrieked, looking at me with fear before masking it with a fake smile, “the goddess! You’re awake! King-.”She went to ramble on but was cut off by my hand squeezing her throat. “Do you think you could just come in here, poison my child and leave!?” I s
Lily’s pov. After my talk with Sapphire I headed back to the tribe house, wanting to relax in bed. I walked through the tribe house slowly, smiling at anybody I passed by. Just as I’m about to get to the stairs a headache inducing voice speaks from behind me.“Queen, Lily,” Virginia says, making
Creed’s pov. I nod my head at her, knowing exactly what she means. “I know what you mean,” I say, shivering, “she makes me feel wrong too.”“I don’t understand why everyone can’t just leave us alone,” she sighs, leaning into me closer, “I just… I wish we could live our lives in peace.”I sigh too
Creed’s pov. “I’m sorry, you’re right. I’m just so unbelievably stressed out. This war…” I started to say, pausing to gather my words, “it’s inevitable. It’s coming for us, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.”Lily sighs softly, rubbing her hand up my arm in a soft, soothing motion, “I know,
Alex’s pov. “That went well, right?” Beatrice says while chuckling, closing the door behind her as Lily leaves. I smile while nodding my head, “she’s… actually really important to me. I’m glad you guys get along… after my mother died- something also died inside of me. When Creed found Lily, it wa
