Trying To Be Me.

Lily’s pov.

After that went down last night I made my way home.

Even if I felt revealed… there was still a part of me that wondered what could’ve happened if he was a better man.

I open the front door as step inside while yawning, feeling my entire body aching.

I heard shuffling from the kitchen before my mothers head pokes out.

She looks guilty and ashamed but still decided to try and talk to me.

“Lily… how are you doing? Are you okay?” She tries to ask, but Sapphire took over my body.

“Leave us alone. My human doesn’t want to talk yet. She wants space and respect,” she says, her voice so much deeper than mine.

My mothers eyes widened and her mouth opened and closed, not able to find any words.

Deciding to ignore her I walked away, straight to my room.

I wasn’t ready to talk to her, and… that’s okay.

I’ve been in bed ever since, I couldn’t sleep or eat. I think I had a shower for three hours just standing under the water even after it turned cold.

I even took my time drying off and dressing too. I just don’t feel like myself anymore.. who even am I?

‘We will find ourselves again, don't fret, Lily," Sapphire's sassy voice says, making me smile to myself.

I will train, I will get strong and I'll be unstoppable. My enemies better watch out, because I’m coming.. and they won’t even see me coming.

2 years later.

Well that was exhausting.

Master Shifu had me do a hardcore workout and training session this morning.

It's currently seven in the morning and we’ve been doing this since three.

This has been my new normal lately, ever since I moved here.

He told me to take a break and get something to eat before my dragon breaks free for some food. Which isn’t unusual.

And yes he knows who and what I am.

It took me a whole year to be able to let my guard down and to trust him. He’s also a dragon shifter but lives in the human towns teaching women to defend themselves. He’s taken me under his wing, fed me, trained me and even gave me a place to live.

I left my house, my mother. I couldn’t stay in that place anymore. Not after everything I found out…

But we apologized to each other and we’re good now. I talk to her every day on the phone. We just don’t live close anymore, trying to make it harder for my father to find me. Yes, he’s alive and wants us back. But he cannot find me or find out I’m the last female dragon or who knows what he’ll do to me, he’s a power hungry alpha male who shouldn’t even be alive. He’s an extremely dangerous man.

My trainer, Master Shifu, told me to pick up dinner for tonight so my plan is to go get the stuff quickly while I have the time today. I feel like I haven’t had the time to do anything lately.

We will also most likely continue training throughout the day, usually it’s totally brutal, hardcore shit.

I am one of Master Shifu's assassins and he’s done a damn good job training me to be the best. We are in a more neutral area between humans and supernaturals; the ones who know we are more powerful than them and different… they keep to themselves if they see anything.

‘Lily, I am so bored lately.. I haven’t even shifted in almost six months and I feel I can’t take it anymore, we should find a place to go. Tonight.’ Sapphire whispers in my mind, sounding so sad.

‘Can we at least do something that I want to do too, that way we’re both happy?’ I ask her, hoping she’ll agree quickly.

We try to do right for each other so our soul is happy. Since we moved we’ve gotten extremely close.

‘What do you want to do, Lily?’ Sapphire asks curiously. Making a smile light up my face.

‘Clubbing,’ I say simply, the one thing I’ve been enjoying when I have the time. Dancing.

These last couple of years I’ve really enjoyed clubbing and dancing, not so much the drinking aspect though.

Midnight dance club is my favourite place in the city to go, it’s about an hour drive so I want to be there by one in the morning, I better get my shit going so I can get this training over with.

I got all of the things I needed and headed back to my house. The underground is our training arena. But upstairs is our home.

“What took you so long?” Master Shifu asks as I close the door behind me.

I chuckle as I place everything down, “I took my time. It was busy,” I say, shrugging my shoulders, knowing I’m usually a lot quicker.

“Forget the rest of the training today… I had something come up. You’re dismissed," he says calmly before walking away. Leaving me standing there wondering what would’ve come up that was so much more important than training…

Later that night, I arrived at the midnight dance club and walked to the line.

I skip to the front because I’m a regular here and as soon as the bouncer sees me he smiles and lets me through.

I can hear women yelling and saying it’s not fair since they’ve been waiting all night to get in. I just laugh and keep walking. Knowing they aren’t known here like I am.

Later while I’m dancing and singing my heart out, another woman, who smells like a witch comes up to me and starts singing along too.

“WHO RUN THE WORLD! GIRLS!”

“WHO RUN THIS MOTHER FUCKER!”

“GIRLS!!”

After the song is over the girl starts laughing and twirling around.

“My names Beatrice ! What’s yours?” Beatrice yells over the music, even though I can clearly hear her and basically everyone else in here.

“My names-“ before I can tell her though I am cut off by the most amazing smell.

I got to get out of here, there’s no way my mate just walked into this club of all places.

Sapphire and I have been training our powers so I’m gonna try something. I think about having no scent and being like anyone else, blending in, mixing in, I make no eye contact with anyone either and walk away from Beatrice.

She seemed nice but I can’t make friends right now. I need to get out of here.

When I get near the door I take one look around and there he is. My mate. Damn, he’s fine with his blonde hair and bright green eyes, he’s all muscle and length too. He turns my way and we make eye contact for a second before I’m gone.
