Lucien's POV

I stir from my sleep, a persistent knocking sound breaking through my slumber. I glance over at Natasha, who's sleeping peacefully, and decide to investigate the noise myself. I throw on a robe and head downstairs, my footsteps silent on the hardwood floor. I see Jacob, already on his way to answer the door. He stops in his tracks and bows low as I approach. "What is it?" I ask, my voice cold and commanding. Jacob shrugs, looking just as puzzled as I am. He opens the door, and my eyes remains the same for the lack of surprise surprise. Sam stands there, a sly grin on his face. I want to slap that smug expression right off his face, but I keep my cool, my expression stony. "What do you want?" I ask, my voice like ice. Sam chuckles, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "Just wanted to pay a visit, Lucien," he says, his tone overly casual. I raise an eyebrow, unimpressed.
