An excuse to give

Hrolf walked out of the white wolf's estate deep in thought. He had been told not to touch her after she collapsed and he had watched her attendant carry her into the inner chamber.

"Alpha," Erik called out to him when he walked close. It was the dawn of another day and his eyelids were heavy. He hadn't shut his eyes throughout the night before and he needed to rest.

"Erik, you are here, I thought you would have been gone already,'' Hrolf said. All that the white wolf had said kept running through his mind and he inhaled sharply.

"You said I should wait for you Alpha," Erik answered. Hrolf nodded at him. He had told Erik to wait for him till he was back and he did.

"What did the white wolf say?" Erik asked as they walked out of the white wolf estate. Hrolf inhaled sharply while contemplating what to answer.
