Lucian

I was quick to pull away, turning around just to see one of my warriors storm in. But the moment he saw us, he dropped on both knees immediately.

“Forgive me, my lord,” he panted, offering his neck. “I had to come at once. It is urgent. Very urgent.”

“Then speak,” I growled, rising quickly, adjusting my coat just to shield Nadia further.

The warrior gulped down a mouthful of fear, then he spoke.

“It’s about Fiona. We found a trail that might lead to the pack where she was being held.”

I took a step closer, clenching my fist at my side. There was an urge to rip his head off his neck.

“How dare you address her by name?” My growl vibrated through the corners of the room. “She is still your Luna even if she is not here.”

The warrior bowed lower, stretching his arms and neck out in complete submission. “Forgive my stupidity, Alpha.” He pleaded shakily. “What I meant to say is that we got a chance to find Luna.”

“Explain further,” I urged. “How sure are you about potentially find

The sound of growls, and claws clashing was all I could hear from the other end of the door. Loud thuds and pounding vibrated through the door and walls. I stumbled back from the door, my eyes frozen on the door knob as I quietly hoped that whatever was out there wouldn’t think of coming in. “Where is she?” I heard a voice demand. That voice. It was all I had been hoping to hear for quite a while. A wave of relief washed over me. My lips tweaked a small smile at the corner, and my eyes suddenly felt teary. His voice felt like hope, like a spark of flame in thick darkness. My feet moved without my permission. I rushed to the door, but before I got halfwa

LucianThe warrior didn’t hold back for another second. They parted ways, creating an entrance for the sacred wolves to pass through. Lyra and her daughter had stopped talking. They both stared in my direction, looking at me as though I had grown a second head. “What?” I shrugged. “We can all argue later, but I won’t allow those pups to freeze to death.”No one spoke. No one argued, or defied my order. The sacred wolves reluctantly began filing into the pack land. Each one of them met my gaze as they passed. They didn’t speak, but their eyes said the kind of thanks I recognized. As I watched them make their way slowly towards the pack, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder. “Thank you,” lyra sighed. “Don’t thank me yet. I might have allowed your people into my pack, but I still don’t trust you.”She chuckled. “I also didn’t expect to get it that easily.”I almost smiled at her response, but a scream got my attention all of a sudden. My head whipped in the direction of the sound. It

Lucian"Tell you wolves to stand down!” I heard the sacred shout at the top of her voice. “We are here to help!”Her voice came from another side of the tree line. I whipped my head in her direction to tell her that she was indeed the one. She was in her human form, her hand held in the air, showing that she was harmless. Now I can see what my warriors were trying to stop from crossing the tree line—it was her entire pack. Their white furs were easy to spot under the blanket of the night. My warriors held their positions a few feet away from the tree line, securing the pack away from the intruders, and awaiting my command as well. I didn’t know how long, but I was quite sure I didn’t spend hours discussing with my elders. However, the sacred elder had made it back here, not alone, but bringing her entire family along with her. The reason she had done this was already obvious. She thinks I need support. Even though it might look so—I don’t. The thought of her risking the lives of

LucianMy grip on Elder Quade loosened slightly, but my fury was now divided into two. The rage. The aura. The anger swirling within me had been distracted, the powerful wave of death and fury was slowly vanishing. Nadia. She had begged me not to send her away with her father. I had dismissed her, disinterested in her staying and ordering that she leave with him. But it looks like I had underestimated whatever fire she was carrying within. She had chosen to fight her own father. With Elder Quade still in my grip, I turned to the warrior. “Where are they?”“Near the eastern training ground. The wolves are scattering, Alpha. They are both in full form, and it’s…. It’s brutal. I let out a sigh, unceremoniously dropping Elder Quade to the floor. He collapsed to the floor with a loud grunt, gasping for air, and clutching his bleeding cheek. “I will let you live—for now,” I said coldly. “But if you speak next time without my permission, I will rip your throat out and feed it back to yo

LucianThe room shook violently. The large chandeliers shook vigorously, dancing to the tune of the rising tension. The air had dropped to a cold temperature, and elders were at the edges of their seats—some of them ready to sprint at any moment. Elder Balad moved further away from the witch. Her screams were all that continued to fill the room, slicing through the thick tension as though her tongue was made of a sword. The hidden warrior had enough. He attempted to silence the witch. With more force than before, he sent the whip flying towards her back. I wanted to call out and stop him from doing dangerous things, but at the same time, I wanted to see if that would shut the witch up. To my disappointment, it didn’t. The whip froze mid-air as though an invisible hand had stopped it. In the blink of an eye, it combusts into flames. The warrior was forced to throw the whip away before it spread to his hand. Elder Balad, who seemed to have just recovered from his shock, stepped forw
