The elder whistled for one of the other wolves to come and take care of the young woman whose name seems to be kaelina, from my hands.

Her words still hung in the air, heavy with a truth I wasn’t prepared to face. My hands trembled as I looked from her to Kaelina, then back to the elder.

“What do you mean?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “My mother… She died when I was born. I don’t understand.”

The elder’s expression softened, her piercing eyes studying me with a mix of sadness and admiration. “Your mother was one of us, Fiona. A rare wolf, blessed with a connection to the Moon Goddess. Her spirit was strong, her heart even stronger. But when she was forced to leave our pack, she carried a heavy burden: you.”

The weight of her words settled over me, and I felt the faint stirrings of something deep within my soul. It was as if the very essence of my wolf was responding to the elder’s revelation.
