CHAPTER 3: Friend?

Knight's POV

My day 2 here in Troika. At first I thought it will be a boring season for me. Not until I found this girl. A girl who doesn't care about me.

I didn't know there is someone who still doesn't know me. Even on Gamma, I'm quite popular. I am a crown Alpha. I am next in line to rule the packs.

And that girl, I'm so interested with her. Not with a feelings involved, its just that, I can be neutral to her. I don't have to forcefully smile. I don't need to be pretentious. I can just simple be me. Because she doesn't care about me. She don't fantasize me.

I hate those girl who really throw themselves to me. I'm not being boastful or what. I don't have high standards but I stan right girl.

And that Gamma girl, I want to be close to her. I want atleast to be with someone that it is not intimadated with me.

Being a crown Alpha is not that easy. Waiting for your turn. You have a title protecting to. You have a name you need to be careful to. I need to be firm and gentle.

But in reality, my inner self, I want to be a happy-go-lucky.

I wonder what's the name of that girl.

Shayana's POV

Day 2 here in Troika. I just woke up and I decided to tour myself around. Good thing we have 1 week break before our classes began. 1 week to adjust myself on new environment.

I took a bath and went to the canteen to have breakfast. After that, I walk around. I want to learn all the ins and outs here in Troika. The Academy is a little far away from our apartment. There's a shuttle bus outside our apartment that we can ride on. We have this card to use to ride the bus.

I'm here now at the market. I wanted to buy some foods that can be store to my apartment. But I need to limit myself. Troika gave student's their very own credit card. They give students atleast five thousand gold each week. In humans world, gold means a lot. But here in the worlds of werewolf, gold is not that much. So we still need to limit spending.

I just grab some snack, cupcakes and soda. I really want to eat while studying. Especially when in the middle of the night. That let me lessen my stress.

While looking at other stuff, someone stand beside me and walk with me.

It was Knight.

"I see. You're buying groceries." I just rolled my eye on him and hastened to walk.

"Hey. Wait. Can I share a cart with you?"

"You know, there are more cart over there that isn't used. Why bother sharing?"

"I just want a companion. Shopping alone is boring."

"Well, I do love shopping alone."

"Shayana!"

How did he know my name? I look at him. Expressing how does he know?

"Your card is in your hand. Your name is readable."

I look at my card. Oh yeah. It's right here.

"Why are you so annoyed with me? I didn't do anything to you."

"Well, you, being this clingy to me makes you so annoying.I hate the most is being stared at and being center of attraction."

Knight laugh at me.

"Well, Shayana, be used to it. Cause I will make it a hobby being clingy to you." He winked at me and tap my purchase before leaving.

He's really annoying. He is so full of his self.

I would have walk when I notice there's a chocolate bar in my cart.

I don't remember buying it. I'm on my way on returning it since I have thought that Knight is the one who put that. But as soon as I am putting it in a shelf, I notice that the chocolate was already scan.

It means that it's already paid.

Does Knight forgot it or he's just giving it to me?

Good thing I haven't spend all the golds in my card. I need to buy some stuff for our class. I need notebooks, pen and paper, and a bag too.

Good thing I saw some neighbor here who just got home from the market. I saw them with school stuff.

I thought Troika provide some for the students. Well, I'm just gonna buy tomorrow. I'm already tired. I think I'll gonna skip lunch. I'm still full.

Knight's POV

It's already lunch time but I haven't seen Shayana around the canteen. Lunch time will be over soon but still can't see her.

"Hey dude. Waiting for someone?" Fred sat infront of me.

"Aren't you gonna eat? Where's your order?" Fred is my best friend. He's a beta. When the time comes that I will be the new leader, I'm putting Fred as my Beta.

"I'm done you know. I was on my way out but I saw you here, waiting for someone. You're waiting to that chix?"

Chix?

" Whose chix?"

"That Gamma girl you're hitting to."

"I'm not hitting her. Just like you say she's a Gamma. Its not like it's possible."

"Then why following her around? Do you like her?"

"No I'm not."

" C'mon dude. Well, I can't blame you on that one. She's really hell pretty. She looks like an angel."

" I don't like her. I just want to be friend with her. You know, it's rare for me to see someone, especially girls who's not crazy over me."

" Ohhhhh. So you're challenge. There's someone who doesn't find you attractive."

" No. Not that way. You know, being with her. I don't have to be pretentious. I can be me. Damn, she's not even intimidated to me. I'm a crown Alpha for pete's sake."

"Well, she's really something huh."

I'm not planning on hitting her. I know in the first place that it is very imposible. I just want to be close to her. I don't know, there's something in me that really want to be friend with her. I'm feeling something I don't know what.

If she's an Alpha, maybe, I can consider liking her.

She's really pretty you know.

Shayana's POV

I really love notebook. And their notebook here is really different from outside. It is more beautiful here. When I finish here, I will buy a lot of notebook here to bring at home.

I just got home from the market. I bought stuff for my classes.

There's only 3 days left until our class begin. And I'm getting bored now. There's nothing to do here. No cellphone, no social media, no malls. I think it's better to have the class start now.

I look at my table. There's a meat and veggies there. I bought them because I decided I'll cook my own dinner.

I also bought some chicken and other stocks. I realized how hard it is to eat at the canteen. There were many students. And because of that Knight, I think all the students already know me. And they starting talking behind my back.

I'm done storing the food. I am now preparing all the ingredients that I'll be using.

While cooking, I can't help but to miss my mom. I'm always helping mom to cook everytime I have my free time. That's why, I'm not new in cooking.

I was waiting for the food to be cook when I heard a commotion outside. I stand up and went to the door to check what's happening outside.

When I open the door, I look at my right side and saw Knight stumbled to the ground in front of a door. I ran to him immediately. When I am close to him, I immediately smelled alcohol from him.

He's drunk. But what more surpise me is that he's holding a phone. I think he's talking with someone.

"Mom, I can handle my self. I'm not that drunk."

What a great liar. I want to take his phone and send to the other line picture of him in his current status. Is that the one who can handle his self? He didn't even able to open his door.

"Oh look mom. Look who's in front of me."

Mom? Oh my! The one he's talking to is his mom? The current Luna?

Arrrghhh. What's does this man even thinking?

I immediately grab his phone and end the call before he can say anything.

"What do you think you're doing?! You gonna tell you're mom you're with me? If something happens to you I'll be the most primary suspect."

He laugh. Arrgh. He's really drunk.

"Nothing's gonna happen to me. I'm a crown Alpha. No one dare to touch me."

Yeah right.

"Hey. Stand up. Is this your room? Go inside."

He tried to stand but he keeps on falling. He's really annoying. In the end I help him. I put his arm around my shoulder to support him.

"Okay, what's your passcode?"

"Passcode? What's passcode?"

"PASSCODE! PASSCODE TO YOUR APARTMENT!"

I'm getting frustrated. I shouldn't let my curiosity lead me. Look what's gotten me into.

"I don't know. I don't have passcode."

Arrrghhh. I let him go and laid him back on the floor again. He take care of himself.

I go to my apartment and turn off the stove. I almost forgot I'm cooking. Good thing it didn't over cook.

I was preparing now to eat when I remember Knight. Is he still outside? I like not to bother but in the end I'm here at my door opening it to check him.

Upon opening, I didn't see him in his door. He's now in front of my apartment. Specifically, the floor in front of mine.

Did he crawled?

"Hey what are you doing here?"

"I'm hungry."

"Then go to your unit already."

"I can't open it."

Arrghhh.

"THEN WHY YOU FORGET YOUR PASSCODE."

"Shhhhhh."

He shush me. How dare him. I have no choice but to let him in. If dad found this, he will be hysterical.

I sat him at the dining chair. I prepared him a plate and spoon. I think I will be eating with him. I can't take it anymore. I'm so hungry.

"Here. Eat."

He didn't say anything but he follow me. He eat. Good thing I cook with a broth. It's good for hangovers.

"This is good. What you call this."

"You wouldn't know it even I tell you."

"Why? Own recipe?"

"You can say that."

By looking at him, I can say he's satisfied. Well that's good. It's my first time to cook without mom. I don't know if I did it right.

"Thanks Shayana. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Tss.

"Why did you even drink if you can't handle it? You're so wasted."

"I just want to have fun. You know, school will start soon. No more parties and alcohol. "

So werewolf really looks like human. Werewolf even partied. And they hate school too.

"Earlier you're talking to your mom."

"Uh-huh. She found out that I drink again. Maybe, that bastard Fred tell it to her. She scolded me."

"Good thing you have a phone. You can call your mom anytime and she can call you too. What a great privilege for you."

"Haha. I wouldn't say it was great. But, maybe for you it is."

He has a point.

"You want to call your family?"

I was surprised. I stared at him for a moment. Is he sincere?

"C..can I?"

He hand over me his phone. "Here. Call them."

I can't believe what was happening right now. I want to cry.

I took his phone. "Thank you Knight. Just 5 minutes. Promise."

"No. Take your time. I'm just gonna eat here. It's my way on saying thank you. "

I just smiled at him and stand up. I call mom and dad. I can't believe I can talk to them right now.

Knight's POV

Hmmm. This was really good. I think my hangover was fading now because of the broth.

"Moooom! Don't worry, I'm grown up now. HAHAHAHAHHAAHA."

I look at Shayana. She's look really happy talking with her family.

"Daaaad! No! HAHAHHAHAHA."

This is the Shayana I want to see. The joyful and loud Shayana. She is always on her irritated look whenever I'm around her.

It's good to know, that atleast now. I am able to make her happy.

I hope this is the start that she can let me be her friend.
