Chapter 7 - New Security

Reign

After going back and forth about who paid the bill, we made it back to my house. Mac was waiting on us.  It’s about time you got here.  He gruffed.  I told you where we were going to go after they got here, you could have joined us.  I walked in and kissed his cheek.  Didn’t have time and still don’t have time. I just wanted to make sure Damien had everything he and his team need.  He said shaking Damien’s hand.  I just need the schedule of events for the rest of the tour.  Damien told him.  Not a problem, I’ll have Reign’s assistant get that to you.

Wait? Why does he need that?  I asked.  Isn’t Jason…  No, he’s not, not anymore.  Mac stated.  He’ll still be around to but he’s not in charge, besides, it was only temporary, and he knew that.  But I thought he was in charge until…  He was but things change.  Damien is in charge now.  Mac said so coldly.  What things?  I demanded.

Sorry to interrupt but where do we set up?  Moses asked.  Ground floor, through that door, down the stairs.  Mac instructed.  There are three bedrooms, each will sleep two and private bathrooms and a living room. There’s also a small fridge and a microwave. They use it as a rehearsal room, but it should accommodate all your needs.  Damien looked at Moses.  You know what to do.  He nodded and went off downstairs.  Damien turned and looked at me.  I pulled myself away from him realizing what was happening.

Hold on! Hold on!  I raised my voice.  When did I say that all these dicks could stay in my house?  Reign Rose Raven!  Mac yelled at me.  You watch your mouth young lady and be nice!  He scolded.  It’ll be little hard to watch my mouth since I can’t see it.  I shot back.  And why the hell should I be nice? No one thought to tell me what the hell is going on and just went ahead and made all these changes! And you want me to be nice?!  I snorted.  I don’t even know these… I gestured to all the males and huffed.  I could see Damien watching me from the corner of my eye.

We are your new security team.  You’ve met Moses and you already know Shadow, let me introduce the rest of the team. Gentlemen, this is Reign Rose Raven, a.k.a. Ryven Rose. Reign this is Spyder, Spencer, Micha, Hunter, and Blaze. Spyder and Spencer are Shadow’s younger brothers and fellow ninjas.  Damien chuckled as I raised an eyebrow at him.  You know, there one second and gone the next.  I just rolled my eyes at him and huffed.  Ninja’s my ass, more like cats.  Jyden said walking in, and I heard what sounded like growls.  Chill out guys, I mean that with awe.  Jyden said holding his hands up in surrender.

I was way beyond annoyed.  There is way too much testosterone in my house and way too many dicks!  I grumbled. I heard a few snickers.  Reign!  Mac interrupted.  It’s done! There’s nothing you can do! Stop behaving like this!  He yelled.  It’s for your safety.  Please don’t give me or Damien such a hard time.

Whatever! I’ll be by the pool if that’s okay with everyone?!  I sarcastically uttered.  When no one answered, I stormed off.  I was sitting at the edge of the pool when I heard a knock on the glass door.  I looked up and saw Mac waving. I didn’t wave back. I only glared at him and turned away from him.  I was still mad at him.  I just wanted to be left alone, there were so may changes going on and no one ever told me what was going on.

I knew it all had to do with my psycho stalker and that I was getting a new security team. I know I’m being childish but so many things have changed in the last three years. My mom died when I was fifteen, Mac, and his wife, Bea, were appointed my guardians and have been very protective. Even Duncan can go into protective uncle mode.

I knew Damien’s company was taking over but not much more, then again, I’m not surprised, Luther, my ex-bodyguard/boyfriend, got into an argument with Mac a few months ago. When Mac mentioned about new security when I started my forced vacation. Luther was told that a new company would be taking over and that his services would no longer be needed, he lost it. He said that no one would take me from him, he threatened to take me away, that’s when he was escorted out and Jason was put in charge and now, he’s not. I guess I can’t really blame Mac, I mean Luther did try and kidnap me, well, he did kidnap me, but he didn't get very far, that’s when Shadow showed up and he’s been my Shadow ever since. I know Luther is my psycho stalker, I have no proof, but I know it’s him.

The eternity pool is one of my favorite places to come and relax plus it overlooked the hills of my home state. My anger was finally floating away, my thoughts went to Damien, the way I felt around him, the sparks that flowed through me when our fingers touched, the way my body shivered under his gaze, the way my knees turned to jelly. I looked over to the door that leads to the living room, there he was, watching me. I wanted him to take me in his arms and kiss me. Dammitt Reign! Stop! I shook my head to get those thoughts outta my head.  Sounds good to me.  The inner voice purred. There's that damn voice again.  You know you love me.  She cooed. I scoffed.  Yeah, like a hole in the head.  She just laughed at me.

Hey Reign.  Jaz softly called.  You doing, okay?  She asked slipping into the pool next to me.  I guess so.  I sighed.  I’m just fed up with the lies and being kept in the dark about things.  I rubbed my face.  Did you know about any of this?  No, Damien doesn’t tell me anything about the family business.  She sighed splashing her feet in the pool.

C’mon, let’s go inside, it’s getting dark.  Jaz said getting out of the pool.  Do we have too?  I wined as she giggled at me.  Let’s go you two! Get inside, I need to lock down!  Moses called out.  Lock down what?  I asked.  The house and the whole property. Please go inside before Damien flips out on my ass.  He pleaded.  You’re no fun.  Jaz teased Moses with a fake pout.

I looked at Jaz and huffed.  I pulled myself out of the pool and I felt his eyes on me, looking me up and down. Awe shit! I remembered that I had changed into my swimsuit. As we got closer to the door, I met his gaze.  Oh, shittles, the look in his eyes, a look of desire and lust, I felt it all over my body. I have no idea what’s happening.

Jaz walked in the house ahead of me, Damien was standing at the door intently watching me, he had a sly smile. He was so huge that even though he was standing next to the door, he blocked the door.  Excuse me,  I softly said, looking up at him.  He’s so much taller than me, I barely came up to his chest such a rock-hard chest with abs that any guy would kill for.  Do you mind moving so I can get by, please.  I huffed at him.

Before I could say anything else, he pulled me to him and nuzzled his face into my neck and inhaled.  He whispered.  MINE, in my ear.  A shiver shot down my spine, my breathing got rapid and erratic.  He ran his nose from my jaw to my shoulder all while caressing his thumb along my bottom lip. I couldn’t help myself, I leaned into his touch and a low whimper escaped.  What’s happening to me?  I moaned out. I felt him smile against my neck.

He’s our mate and he’s calling to us.  My inner voice cooed.  He pulled away from me and looked down on me. I suddenly felt cold, he caressed my bare back and gently kissed my lips, there were the electric shocks again.  He leaned back down to my ear,  You are my mate and my love.  I will always love you and protect you.  He whispered and crashed his lips to mine, his kiss was gentle but demanding, he nipped my bottom lips asking for more. I gasped at his nip, and he took full advantage and slid his tongue into my mouth and explored every inch of my mouth.  My whole body had turned to jelly, and I completely leaned into him.  I was still trying absorbed what he had said. I’m his mate, what is a mate?  Is it what I think it is?  I put my hands on his chest and pushed away from him.  The voice in my head had said the same thing, that he is our mate.
