Chapter 54 (Are you checking me out?)

Jack widened his eyes as he saw her leaving, "Alice?". He called out to her and ran to catch up to her but he was late. The elevator door was closed already. He knew it was impossible to run down the stairs so he decided to take another elevator and waited. He did not stop tapping his feet on the ground showing his desperation as he waited for the elevator to come. The elevator door opened and he rushed in and pressed the button. He was very impatient.

"Alice, please wait, please wait, don't leave," he was chanting as if he was reciting a mantra. Luckily the elevator went straight to the ground floor without having to stop on any floor. He walked out and saw Alice walk away just few steps ahead of him.

Without wasting anymore time, he ran and held her wrist. She halted and looked back. Her eyes widened and her mouth opened in shock. She immediately closed her mouth and restrained herself from laughing.

Jack did not understand that reaction of her so he just spoke what he had in his
