Chapter 4

Rebecca's POV

"What? I'm carrying Alpha's baby?"

The doctor's words made me feel very surprised. I reflexively rubbed my flat stomach. My heart was racing, knowing that I had a baby in my stomach.

"That's right, Luna. Congratulations, because soon you will be a mother." The doctor smiled and congratulated me.

My heart was truly touched and felt very happy when I heard that. I couldn't hold it in anymore, now my tears had started to well up.

"Thank you very much, Doctor."

I nodded, and at the same time my tears fell down my face. Yes, they were happy tears.

After getting the happy news, I quickly left the hospital, and returned to the pack. I couldn't hide the happy smile on my face.

"I'm very happy with my pregnancy, and I hope that I can melt Alpha's heart with the presence of his future child," I said to myself.

My face kept smiling, showing the happiness in my heart. I quickly went into my room and waited for my husband's return. He had to know about my pregnancy immediately.

But when I reached my room, I didn't find Luke there. I was thinking positively, maybe he was out on business.

"Alright. I'll tell him about it later tonight."

I continued to wait for the time to change, which was actually me waiting for my husband's return. Until night finally fell, whereupon I quickly got ready and sat on the edge of the bed.

"I hope the alpha comes home soon. I can't wait to tell him this happy news." I spoke to myself, while continuing to squeeze my fingers to control my nerves.

A few minutes passed. Slowly my face lifted, when I heard the sound of the bedroom door opening. A smile spread across my lips as I saw Luke appear from behind the door.

The arrival of my husband made my heart beat faster. I immediately looked down at my face, which was already starting to heat up.

"What's wrong?" Luke asked, but I could tell that he was definitely looking at me.

"I'm ...."

I slowly began to lift my face, and sure enough. My gaze immediately met his, until we were staring at each other. That moment made me even more nervous and palpitating.

"Alpha, I have something to tell you." I mustered up the courage to speak to Luke.

"Later. I'm tired and want to take a shower first."

I paused, and all the words I had prepared in my mind just fell away. I was dumbfounded as I watched Luke walk into the bathroom.

My hands began to clutch my chest, which suddenly felt tight. There was a painful disappointment in my heart.

"It's okay. I can talk to him later."

I tried to smile and strengthen my heart, but I couldn't hold back the tears that had suddenly fallen down my cheeks.

In the end, I could only wait for the opportunity to be able to tell Luke the happy news.

After a few minutes passed, I saw the bathroom door open. I immediately got up from the edge of the bed, and immediately walked over to Luke.

"What are you doing?" My husband's voice sounded very cold. Maybe he just couldn't warm up to me.

I was wide-eyed when I heard his blunt question. But I was even more surprised when I saw my husband's muscular and beautiful body, adorned with shiny water droplets.

He was clad only in a bathrobe that still revealed his firm chest. Luke's white skin glistened in the lamplight.

"I'm sorry, Alpha." I quickly lowered my face.

My mind was a complete mess just looking at my husband's body. My brain was traveling everywhere, making me almost speechless.

"Why are you silent like that? Oh yeah, please get my clothes ready!" Luke said to me.

"Alright, Alpha. I'll get your clothes ready."

I quickly went and prepared clothes for my husband. After getting them, then I quickly returned to Luke who was still waiting.

"Here are your clothes."

"Thank you," Alpha said as he accepted his clothes.

I quickly turned around and closed my eyes, letting Alpha change in front of me. But after a while, I didn't hear his voice at all.

I slowly turned my head towards him, hoping he had changed. However, I was instantly shocked to see the alpha already sleeping soundly on the bed.

"Oh my! He's already asleep?"

Again, I had to feel disappointed with what Luke had done. However, in the end I could only surrender and decided to sleep next to him.

"Alright. There's still time tomorrow to tell him," I muttered and slowly began to close my eyes.

The night was getting late. However, I couldn't sleep for some reason. I finally got up from the bed and started to step out of the room.

"I'll go outside to get some fresh air."

My feet continued to step into the courtyard. I passed several rooms next to each other, but I didn't pay much attention to the voices of the werewolves who were still busy chatting.

However, all of a sudden I saw someone passing very quickly in front of me. A man in black robes was seen entering Elder's room in a hurry.

"Who is he?"

Feeling curious, I decided to follow the man in black robes. Until I finally arrived in front of Elder's uncovered bedroom door.

"We can finally get Alpha married to that omega girl."

Elder's voice was very familiar to my ears. I slowly began to peek into the room, and I saw several Elders in there. The man in the black robe I saw earlier, it turned out that he was also one of the elders.

"That's right, Jack. Our plan is almost successful, and don't let the alpha or Luna find out about this plan." One of the elders said.

I saw Jack had a strange smile on his lips. Yes, there was no mistaking it.

Jack was the Elder who persuaded me to join the mating season, and he was also the one who was happy when Luke finally chose me to be his luna.

"It's a good thing we have that omega girl to use. If the alpha does something bad to her, then that girl won't be able to do anything. Since she's already an orphan and has no one else, there won't be anyone to retaliate."

I felt the world stop at that moment, as soon as I heard Jack's words. My body immediately felt weak and shook violently.

"Oh my God, what is this? Is this really what I'm hearing?" My lips trembled in fear.

I slowly looked back at the Elders. At the moment they seemed to be laughing happily and celebrating with drinks.

"This... This can't be!" I screamed under my breath.

Fear, sadness, anger, and disappointment had mixed together to fill my heart. My tears had started to warm up, wetting my cold face.

I stepped back, away from that place. While holding my stomach to protect my future baby, I began to walk quickly towards the exit of the Winterblood pack.

"I need to get out of here as soon as possible!"

A moment ago, Emma stood before them, before disappearing into the darkness, leaving behind a warning that made their blood rush faster."Lucas is in this forest. Find him before that black-faced girl kills him, just like she did to Alpha Hernandez's family," Emma said, her voice firm and full of warning. As soon as those words were spoken, Emma disappeared without a trace. Like a wind that suddenly changed direction, so quickly and without warning. Richard stared in the direction Emma had gone, his eyebrows knitted together. "Why does she always disappear like that?" he muttered irritably,

The simple wooden house in the middle of the forest that usually sheltered Lucas was now filled with tension that hung in the air. The dark, moonless sky emphasized the gloomy atmosphere, while a gust of cold wind broke through the cracks in the wooden walls, making a faint swishing sound that added to the discomfort. On the veranda of the house, Lucas sat leaning against an old, almost fragile wooden chair, his hands firmly gripping the back of the chair. His sharp eyes full of emotion were fixed on Elle, the girl standing not far in front of him. That night, something was different, something that made Lucas feel mixed up. While the sound of her heartbeat echoed in his ears, his mind was filled with confusion and disbelief."How could you say the same thing to me?" asked Lucas in a hoarse voice, almost a suppressed whisper. The gloomy atmosphere added to the uncomfortable feel of the hut.Beside him, Richard had woken up first, sitting on the edge of the rickety bed with a dazed face and eye bags that clearly showed a lack of sleep. Outside, birdsong could be heard faintly, but it was unable to ease the anxiety that suddenly enveloped the room."Lucas... where is he?" muttered Richard, his voice full of confusion as his eyes scanned the empty room.Ken snapped out of his slumber, his heart beating faster as he realized Lucas' absence.
