Kael’s body slammed into the wall. Stone broke behind him and dust filled the air.

Ariana froze. Her hand was still raised. Her chest rose and fell fast.

“No…” she whispered.

Kael fell to the ground hard. He didn’t move for a moment.

Then a weak breath.

“Ariana…”

Her heart sank.

“I didn’t mean to…”

But her body didn’t listen. Her hand stayed up. The power was still there, still moving, still not under her control.

Rogan stood nearby, calm as ever.

“You see it now,” he said quietly.
